Kicks are easily anticipated. Ardos took a step back and let the kick fly pass by him. When his foot moved away, he attempted to grab his ankle.

He got caught, well his ankle anyway, smiling at Ardos at the realization. It was a hard angle to aim from but if he aimed correct he would jump whit his other leg and land that legs knee on Ardos nerves or chin under his jaw. If he where successful, it should disorient most people.

It did connect to his chin. Ardos reeled back, head tingling with stars —

but he was still holding onto Tao's ankle. He yanked it abruptly, hoping to trip him to the ground.

He did trip and it hurt his back, obviously because that's where the spine is, he stretched out on the ground by instinct to make it hurt less, not that it helped but he saw an opportunity.

With a smile he kicked at Ardos direction, specifically at his junk, it sure was low but this was an old school fight so anything goes.

The literal low bow hit, and Ardos felt a sharp wave of pain climb his body from the crotch up, finally loosening his grip of Tao's leg. Before Tao could reclaim his leg, Ardos moved his hold onto his ankle and plopped down to sit at Tao's hips so his leg was up between his legs, twisting his ankle on that position.

Tao had a few resources left, however he wanted his legs free and he also wanted to stand up.

Anything you get in life is earned, or so had Tao gotten to know this world. He hit at Ardos head specifically, still a little afraid of using his full strength, he didn't want to put one of his enforcer out of bushiness for good.

The kick rattled his head, but his skull was hard enough to withstand it. It knocked him off his position so he picked up his sword again, turned around to face Tao and lunged forward, intent to scare him with his forward swings.

Tao rolled away as soon as he was free, taking enough time to stand up to see the sword swing in front of his eyes as he jumped back, he wouldn't admit it but his heart skipped a beat at that moment. Safe, he stood ready to fight, jumping ever so slight to be ready to move. Maybe it was a good idea to get it over with soon.

Ardos got the idea from Tao's posture.

Instead of letting gravity take the sword down, Ardos gripped the hilt of his sword with his weight and redirected the sword's pointy side sideways. He spun once and swung with the force of the rotation, aiming to slice him in half.

Oh, how his body wanted to at the very least try to dodge Ardos sword swing by jumping back. Weather or not he would succeed didn't matter because he jumped forward instead as soon as his feet landed on the ground, aiming for one last fist on Ardos face, he had to at least pretend to be fighting back while he braced himself for the impending pain the slashing weapon would inflict before death would try and claim him.
