As for Diego's reaction, he blinked and let out one confused laugh at Gabe's declaration about Xavier being Vortex. But he turned serious and instead of muttering his reasonings outloud like Xavier he frowned and thought about it all inside his head, sitting crosslegged in the air. It made sense, or more like Diego realized he was pretty fucking stupid to not have realized it until now. Making portals was a pretty rare power, even back then Diego remembered thinking it was a crazy coincidence. Diego turned to stare at Xavier and slowly grinned.
"Vortex is such a lame name, dude."

When Xavier finally got it into his thick skull that Diego was Condor Diego started laughing at his face and arm flailing. And when Xavier hugged him Diego couldn't help but blush just a bit but he also grinned widely and hugged Xavier back, actually letting his feet touch the ground.
"YOU NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT ALL THE VORTEX JUNK EITHER, BASTARD!"
Diego also felt a bit like crying when he listened to Xavier's tone and he reached up to ruffle his hair. Diego didn't let go until Xavier did. At his words Diego snickered and stayed standing on the ground like some loser as he lifted his hands and pressed them against Xavier's cheeks, mushing them a bit.
"Just be happy, dickhead. We're not villains or anything anymore, we're just normal bros. Isn't that enough? Oh! Gabe!"
Diego suddenly looked over at his best friend with a happy smile.
"This is beyond awesome! Two of my best bros are on this island! I'm so fucking happy!"

Gabe couldn't help but give a faint smile to his friends. Of course the two wouldn't know that they were once on the same team. The two were rather oblivious at times, but he wouldn't have them any other way. It was nice to see that things were going well with Xavier too, despite what had happened. It was still a mystery and not every question had been answered yet, but he was somewhat hopeful that Xavier was turning his life around after everything.

"Yeah... It's nice." He sighed, the tension slowly falling from his shoulders. "No more villainy, no more violence, just... a fresh restart. We have a such a good chance to not be the people we were back in Halcyon. I'm thankful for that." Gabe hummed, crossing his arms over his chest. The chill of the day was definitely still lingering, and being cold was the worst feeling.

No more villainy? Xavier doubted everyone would believe that description for him. No more violence? The bruise on his jaw, and the ache in his shoulder, said otherwise. He felt so tired and heavy... he was singehandedly ruining the second chance that Diego and Gabe wanted. They deserved that second chance. Xavier had already ruined his own second chance, how could he drag their chances with him.

None of this was expressed, though. Aside from the briefest look in his eyes. Instead, Xavier pulled a big grin. “D’awwww. You guys being all sappy.” He snickered a bit. “Hugs? I say we hug. Too late, we’re hugging now.” He didn’t really give the pair a chance to react before he wrapped them both in a big bear hug.

Diego turned back to grin at Xavier when Gabe finished talking, and could see a glimpse of the look in his eyed. Diego's grin faltered a bit, as he had thought Xavier was a lot more down than he let on, but Diego didn't have much time to react before Xavier grinned as well and suddenly wrapped both Diego and Gabe in a hug.
"Ew, hugs! Spare me the suffering!"
Diego flailed weakly, let out a small oof but laughed and hugged both Xavier and Gabe as well as he could in this position.

After the hug broke Diego stayed hugging Gabe, since he was pretty sure the guy was cold and needed some warming. Diego went as far as putting his own hands in Gabe's pockets to warm his hands with his own.
"So what's with the dog, bro?"
Diego asked, and looked at Xavier over Gabe's shoulder.

Gabe was conflicted. Xavier had both him and Diego in a bear hug and Diego had joined in as well. On one hand, the warmth was nice and definitely appreciated. His cheeks were flushing slightly at being caught in this hug, but he didn't dwell on anything inappropriate. The more pressing concern was that of Xavier. He wanted to be mad. In fact, he still was. Xavier's actions had caused a huge chain reaction of events that had left both Angelo and himself utterly burnt out. His poor thinking had resulted in him getting tried as a criminal. Eyes had been focused on the Halcyonites for a bit, and even though it had died down, there could still be some lingering resentment.

But he would be nice, and Gabe returned the hug somewhat.

Once they separated (well, separated from Xavier, Diego was still wrapped tightly around him and had his hands in Gabe's pockets), Gabe looked towards the dog as well. He was curious, but Diego had already asked. So, now he waited for the answer.
