Elisa laughed a bit at that. "Luckily, I know my way around. They really should make maps for here." Did they already, though? She could make a fortune making and selling them.

"You are in the High School Dorms, right?" She verified. The college Dorm wasn't that far away from there, but they could just jump the fence if they were both in the same dorm, rather than walking all the way around.

Even though she was waiting for an answer, Elisa still lead Euphemia to somewhere within throwing distance of the school.

"That is correct, yes. Thank you for showing me the way."

After giving a quick nod, she falls in step beside her, walking slower as to not rush ahead of her again.

She was silent for much of the walk, much of her mind focused on the various questions now simmering beneath the surface. While her posture remains the same as it had on the way here, she seemed a little more tense, more stiff, as they headed back.

Walking next to Euphemia, it was quiet for most of the walk. It was similar to earlier, but now it seemed like they were dancing on knives. Elisa could only guess what Euphemia was thinking. Manipulating her emotions would feel insulting, and it could have betrayed any trust the Girl may have had in Elisa as a Friend.

Guess Elisa had to take the first cut, hopefully, it repaired the rift. "So what are your plans once you finish with school? Planning to rejoin the church?"

It took Euphemia a moment to realise she'd been asked a question, as distracted as she is. She blinked, before putting her thoughts at the back of her mind and speaking.

"After the academy...I am afraid I do not know what I shall do once my education is finished."

She really had no idea what she was meant to do after the academy. She wasn't even sure why she was at the academy in the first place.

"However...I do not believe I will return to the church. My superior, Father Jakov, made himself quite clear that I was not to contact them."

She glanced away, looking upwards towards the sky, distracted again. The only reason she was staying at this school was because Father Jakov had told her to. Even if she was no longer part of the order, she felt she should listen to him. Maybe this was some sort of test by him? Maybe he would bring her back once her education was complete. She had no way of knowing.

"That's fair. Most people our age have no idea what to do for the rest of our lives." She shrugged. Elisa had two ideas, but for the sake of Euphemia, she didn't say. Best not to make her think she was falling behind.

"I'm sure when the time comes, you'll figure it out, though." Euphemia seemed clever, and with her way of speaking, if she learned how to relate to others, Elisa believed that she could go far. "Why do you think the Church is so important? Father Jackov told you not to return. That means you are free to live your own life, you don't need to worry about them anymore."

Euphemia blinked. "Elisa, the church is important." She stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"I have lived my entire life in service of the church, for my order, and for my superiors." She explained. "Through my service, my sinful existence is granted purpose by a higher cause. I am a tool that can bring His will and mercy. Though I may be denied salvation, my actions will grant me reprieve from damnation, until He will it so."

She paused again, before correcting herself.

"...Though, now that I am no longer serving my order, it may be that all that is no longer true."

She had never had the chance to even consider life outside the order until she had been sent to the island. She'd lived her whole life sure of her position as a weapon, to be used by their will. What good was a weapon once it had been thrown away? Thinking on this, she felt just as lost as she had when she'd first arrived on the island, alone and with no direction.

Elisa didn't quite understand quite why Euphemia was so dedicated to the church, being as much an Atheist as one could be on this island. However, she knew she had to accept Euphemia's View.

"I get that you feel strongly, but maybe you just don't know how to live without the Church, is that it?" Elisa kept walking but turned her head to look up at Euphemia.

While she couldn't exactly empathise with her, Elisa knew that the transition could be difficult. "I might not exactly be the most trusted to you right now, but you can ask for my help anytime."

Euphemia found herself looking down, watching the path as they walked. Elisa had hit the point right on the head. She had no idea how to live her life now, no idea what she should do, why she should do it.

But what else was there to do? Father Jakov had given her his last command, and she was going to see it through to the end, whatever that would be. At the very least, she wasn't left completely without guidance.

She looked back up at Elisa, gaze seeming to soften just a little bit. "You have my thanks." She said simply.

It's not exactly a smile, but for now, it's probably the best she's going to be able to do.

"I figure its the least I can offer, I did break into your mind for a bit." Elisa nodded. She didn't know if her guess was right, but she felt gratitude from Euphemia, so she wasn't going to pursue the answer.

They walked a bit further until they reached the Dorm building. Looking up at the building, she wasn't sure if Euphemia wasn't going to stay or go to her dorm room. "So, is this it?"
