Charlie hadn't left Jaxon in the cold, she wanted to see, how well Jaxon would do a question by himself, and as the boy described his thought process and counted Charlie would point out how he could arrive to the answer quicker and easier, pointed out possible mistakes and otherwise gave tips on how he could do better.
Jaxon wasn't as bad as Charlie had expected, she had seen a lot worse. Charlie hadn't noticed her scarf had slipped away from covering the lower half of her face, and she smiled a little at Jaxon after he got the question right.
"You're not...that bad...I think you can...easily reach B...if you study a bit..."

As he described his process, Jaxon quickly altered it as Charlie corrected him. "Well, thats somewhat better than before. Thanks for that."

At the mention of him getting a B, he turned his head to look at her, now actually seeing her full face for the first time. "You know, I don't know why you wear that scarf. You're actually kinda cute."

Realising what he just said, Jaxon quickly looked away from her again, his face going a bit red. Hopefully, she didn't take him too seriously.

"It was...nothing. I had...fun."
Charlie answered with a small smile, it had been nice teaching someone else, she had never really done that before.

It took Charlie a second to realize what Jaxon had said, and she blushed and quickly pulled the scarf back up. She inched just a bit away from Jaxon, confused and flustered expression on her face. Charlie glanced at Jaxon, he was blushing a bit too.
"I, um, that's...t-thank you...?"
Charlie's eyes were wandering, she didn't really now where to look.
"Th-this scarf...is, uh...a-a gift...so..."

He wasn't looking directly out of her, but Jaxon smiled when he saw her reaction out of the corner of his eye. She definitely had some feelings about her appearance.

Looking back at her, he put a thumb up. "I guess you really like the scarf."

Charlie fidgeted with a strand of her hair, and glanced at Jaxon when he spoke. Charlie looked down at her scarf and nodded a bit, swallowing.
"It was...given to me...by a friend..."
Charlie muttered into her scarf, her blush slowly dying down.

"S-so, um...if you want...I can...h-help you study...in the future, um, too..."
Charlie was able to say, although her voice got quieter at the end of the sentence. She was afraid of rejection, that Jaxon would think it's too bothersome to deal with someone like Charlie.

"Well, they seem like a good friend," Jaxon grinned lightly. "As nice as you are without, the scarf suits you as well." He gave her a thumbs up, a scribbled some work on the next question. he had the wrong calculation, but by a fluke got the answer right.

"Thanks, Charlie," Jaxon smiled. his plan worked, and he was glad. Charlie seemed like a good person if a little weak-willed.

"Yeah..."
A good friend. Suppose they were, though they had been Charlie's only friend back in Melbourne. Here she still didn't have any.
Charlie tugged on her scarf, when Jaxon said she was nice without it, she just couldn't believe it. Charlie was new with actually having a female body in the first place, and all the compliments were strange. Before she hadn't received any compliments, the opposite, really. So it would take time for Charlie to get used to the positive attention.

"You're...welcome."
Charlie smiled a bit behind her scarf as well, and peeked at Jaxon's work book. He had gotten the next question right, and like Jaxon before Charlie showed him thumbs up with a small chuckle.

"So with our Classes, how are you handling it? Being new and all that." Jaxon randomly asked, working on the next question. "Where did you even come from? That accent is strange."

He looked up at her. He had no clue about her, as they really hadn't spoken before. All he really knew was that she was quiet and knew maths.

((OOC: This was the moment you were waiting for, Emi))

Charlie observed Jaxon doing the questions, carefully and gently pointing out possible mistakes, though she still kept and bit of a distance. She was still flustered about Jaxon calling her cute. But Charlie did hear him ask her some questions. Of course he would, Charlie was new after all. She thought carefully about her answers.
"I'm, um...doing decently...my grades are...steady B..."
Charlie shrugged slightly, and when Jaxon called her accent strange Charlie suddenly felt self-conscious and tugged on the scarf.
"I'm from...Australia...Melbourne...you're right, the accent is...kinda strange..."
Charlie pressed her head down a bit, this was the first time anyone had pointed out the accent.

Jaxon meant more than just the grades but decided not to push it. Charlie didn't seem to be someone that could make friends quickly, so people had to talk to them first and be patient.

"So what is Australia like?" He had heard about the country, but only from his friends and the media. "Is it true you ride Kangaroos to school?" Honestly, up until she rolled her r sounds, he wouldn't have assumed she was anything but. She just seemed so tame.

Seeing her reaction, he retracted his enthusiasm at the questions. "Ah, you don't have to answer. I was just wondering."
