Charlie wasn't as good at hiding that she was smart than she had thought, since Jaxon seemed to be aware of it. Charlie hoped he didn't find it weird or bully her because of it. He didn't seem that kind of person though. But what if he told everyone else and they started excluding Charlie? She wasn't that social to begin with but she didn't want to lose the little social interaction she had.
All these thoughts made Charlie scared and she almost felt like crying. But crying in front of Jaxon would've been even weirder. Maybe she could convince him that she was indeed of average intelligence.

"I-I'm not a college student...I barely get Bs...in math..."
It was true, Charlie made sure her grades were always B or lower, but never below D.

Jaxon Jupiter
"Well, if nothing else, we can study together." If she really was getting Bs, then she could still help him. "I've been getting Ds so far."

He laughed weakly. Maybe she really was just reading the answer off someone else. But even so, she was here by herself. Easing himself into the windowsill, he held up his exercise book. "Sorry, But I might as well study here. The Library is so far away, and I might as well give you company." He smiled faintly, before opening the book. He could probably catch up, he just spent no time studying at all.

Ds. Oh dear. Charlie kind of wanted to help, but she was scared she'd let it slip how good she was. And Charlie wasn't confident in her ability to teach anyone anything...
"Ds, um, aren't...so bad..."
Charlie tried to sound comforting. But they both knew Ds were kinda bad.

Charlie had a small lump in her throat when Jaxon eased himself onto the window sill, and Charlie took her book out of the way. She hadn't exactly expected company, she wasn't mentally ready, but Charlie didn't want to chase Jaxon away either. Not that she'd be able to anyway, and Jaxon seemed nice. Charlie didn't want to be rude.
"Okay...make yourself...at home."
Charlie said, and realized that she sounded like she owned the place and had a slightly panicked expression.
"Not that, um, I...have any right to...tell you where you can be...sorry..."
Panic turned to embarrassment and Charlie looked down on her lap and wanted to bap herself. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Charlie made herself comfy, or as comfy as she could be when someone else was so close, and opened her own book, trying to hide the cover so Jaxon wouldn't realize she was reading college level book. She glanced at Jaxon's practice book, she was close enough to see one of the problems he had already solved. It was wrong. Charlie squirmed just a bit, should she say it?

"Haha. Thanks" Jaxon knew she was being nice for his sake, it was good that one of them was.

He had to enjoy how she fell over her words, knowing what she meant. "I get it. Good to be here."

Scribbling in his book, he kept glancing up at Charlie, looking for her reaction. Jaxon had seen her book earlier, though he didn't want to directly call her a liar. So he had planned this. Every single question on the page was wrong, some almost comically. Jaxon knew she would have to comment at some point, with the way he was sitting, she should be able to see the entire page.

Charlie was able to keep quiet for a few minutes, trying really hard to concentrate on her book. But like being dragged by an invisible force her eyes wandered to Jaxon's practice book, only to see how wrong he had done all the exercises. It was almost painful how wrong some of them were. Charlie glanced at Jaxon, he was minding his own business. Was he really this bad at math? Charlie almost felt bad for him, she wanted to help. But it might be rude...

The thought of being rude kept Charlie from saying anything for a while, but finally she just couldn't stay quite anymore. Not when she saw how wrong Jaxon had done one equation.
She tugged on her scarf, and carefully and quietly closed her book. Her voice was hesitant, barely loud enough to hear.
"Um, Jaxon...some of th-those answers...are wrong..."
Charlie almost instantly regretted saying anything, what if Jaxon now thought Charlie was calling him stupid?

Jaxon wasn't an actor, but he had a fair amount of practice from concealing his identity. When Charlie pointed out his 'mistakes', he could only feign surprise. "Where? It all looks okay to me."

Moving from his spot, Jaxon moved a bit closer to Charlie. "Can you show me where I went wrong?"

If it all looked okay to Jaxon Charlie didn't know, if she was good enough of a teacher to tutor him. But the boy had already moved closer to Charlie, and was asking if she could show him where he had went wrong. Charlie tugged his scarf to cover her face a bit better, and leaned over just a bit so she could reach the book. Her cheeks were a tiny bit flushed because Jaxon was so close. Charlie pointed to the equation that was so wrong it almost physically hurt her.

"Um, here...you should start from the very beginning...and first count...what is x..."
Charlie began explaining, and Jaxon would find that her explanation was indeed very easy to understand, and from that equation Charlie would proceed to tell Jaxon the answers to all the other exercises too since they were all wrong as well.

Wow, when she actually tried to speak, she had a very nice voice. That information surprised him, and he stared at the side of his head for a moment while she explained where he went wrong. Looking down, he noticed that she actually went a bit further than point out his mistakes. She actually took the time to clarify what he had to do to fix it.

When she moved to a question he didn't mean to get wrong, he quietly laughed, mumbling to himself. "Hehe, that went well."

After a bit more, he actually began to get into it, and asked questions, though this was actually for his studies, being so far behind. "So if I did multiply X, how would it affect Y?.. Is it important to hold this form?.."

It felt strange, to talk this much. Even when she recorded songs Charlie didn't talk almost at all, she just sang. But talking about academics and math was a natural place for Charlie, and she was glad to see that Jaxon understood her explanations. When the boy laughed and mumbled Charlie glanced at him curiously and unsurely, had she done something weird? She didn't catch what he had said but just the thought, that she wasn't the only one around who mumbled made her smile.

Charlie answered all Jaxon's questions once he presented them with the same easy to understand way as earlier. He'd notice Charlie didn't even need to think about the answers, her thought process was that fast.
Once they had gone through the page with all the answers wrong, and a second one with some right and some wrong, they entered a page that was still blank. Charlie scooted away a bit, and glanced at Jaxon, that had been more fun than she had imagined.
"You, um, can...try doing some...on your own now...if you want to..."

She was quick to solve questions, so when she stopped, Jaxon needed a bit of time to catch up. When he did though, he looked a bit hurt, like she just left him in the cold. The truth was that her moving away wondered if he did something wrong.

"So, um, I find that..." He tried the first question, and answered it slowly, describing his entire thought process so she could verify.

Every now and then while answering the question, he'd look up to her, and tried to guess what she was thinking.
