Lelei checked the flyer again. The standard size piece of paper was dwarfed by the clutches of the giant shark man as he leaned his head toward it, and peered at it closely. He wanted to make sure he was getting the address right. He was in a part of town that he had not had the opportunity of visiting previously, so the names of the streets and the numbers of the buildings were confusing him a little. But between the magic of a smartphone and the handy direction provided on the colorful advertisement, he made steady progress towards the Empress Dance Studio.
The purple and gold flyer had caught Lelei's eyes one day while he had been patrolling on campus, during the now warmer days. Pinned to one of the outdoor bulletin boards, the flyer advertised a deal on dance lessons for a few select days. Now Lelei already knew how to do a little bit of dancing originating from his native people, but he had not learned anything beyond that. Dancing was not a huge a hobby of his, but he was interested in learning some of the styles the studio was offering. If nothing else, it would give him a few new moves to use while he was out clubbing.
He finally managed to arrive at the Empress Dance Studio, built into an outwardly unassuming space next to a large gym. Most dance studios were plain-looking on the outside anyway, as all the money went into a nice dance space inside. Judging by the fact that Empress was located near downtown and pretty clean looking, Empress must have been fairly successful. The people filtering into the studio also meant that it was not unknown at least.
Many of the people entering the studio shot Lelei a questioning look, which was unsurprising. Lelei was a giant shark man and he was dressed in the best he could manage for the occasion: a pair of tight purple surfer's leggings. It was better than going nude, which even he knew was inappropriate, and it was the only thing that would allow for the greatest range of movement. Regardless, they still went in and did not say anything when he followed in after them.
The studio was definitely a good, and expensive, place. The wood floors were polished to perfection and all the dance amenities were available. Also, to Lelei's pleasure, there were also other men there. Some were obviously there with their significant others and others were there for themselves. Lelei may have been the only giant shark man, but he was not the only non-human, which he was thankful for.
Taking a seat in the waiting area, he shot everyone a little wave and a smile to try and get them more comfortable with his presence.
