The academy was a lot bigger than what Mizuko expected. And as such, seeing it with her own eyes for the first time was quite a shock. The vastness of the campus was so intimidating that she can't help but feel like it was a huge mouth that was just about to eat her whole.

That wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

After getting her stuff in her new dorm room, the first thing the young lady decided to do was to look around on her own. The scary vastness of the academy stirred her curiosity, that stepping outside the dorm building felt like an adventure in itself. Walking around a new environment was indeed an adventure. And most of the time, people get lost trying to snoop around the way she did.

She had no idea how she got where she suddenly was, nor did she know how to get back when she looked over her shoulder and tried to recall where she came from.

She was in the middle of bushes and flowers, under the bright but fortunately not yet scorching sun. There were benches here and there, she could also see a fountain, and she could definitely see the academy's main building from where she stood. Which was why she wasn't worried that she couldn't get back. Shrugging off her being lost, she continued walking around, while also observing the few people she comes across every now and then.

Until this one person caught her eyes.

She stopped and suddenly just stood still, looking into those emerald eyes that she only used to see in the fictional world. They weren't ordinary green, they looked like... gems. Zooming out, she realized it was a guy she was looking at, someone who looked the same age as she was. Much taller, but still. Quite a good looking face, too; he'll definitely be a good seme to a cute shota, though he can also be a cute uke to--

She slapped herself. Her hand hit her right cheek so hard that the guy would've probably heard it from his decent distance. Embarrassed, Mizuko tried to shake off the thought for now. And then she smiled and waved at the person sheepishly, almost shyly, before walking towards him and greeting, "Hi!" Because she wanted him to be her friend. "I'm a new person around here, I'm kinda lost. Do you know how I can go back to the high school dorm?"

She had a weird accent when speaking. There was some Japanese in her sound, but she can pronounce every letter clearly, including L, and there was also a little bit of European English for some reason.

It was a bit much. There was more to the Academy than he thought there was. Travis, after settling into his dorm decided to get to know the lay of the school grounds. Then at some point venture out and explore the island. He was definitely going to get lost and it was going to be fun.

He knew he hadn't gone very far, but after a few minutes of aimless wandering he realized he was lost.

That's the main building, so this is the courtyard? His emerald eyes darted around, noting his surroundings. Well kept shrubbery, benches, the fountain, weird girl slapping herself. He went back to his musings, I guess I could just fly back if I need to...

She was making her way towards him, and she seemed friendly enough. Her accent was Japanese but she seemed fairly fluent and good with her English. "I don't have the slightest clue," he answered, shifting awkwardly where he stood. "I'm also new and I unpacked, and wandered around, and now I'm here," he explained.

"My name's Travis," he extended a clawed hand.

Mizuko was still looking into his eyes, though not in a way that would be mistakened as staring. She was reading his thoughts, those which were not on guard at least, and it seems like they really were both new after all. He did what Mizuko did. Quite interesting there.

She smiled more brightly, less shyly. Her dark brown eyes then landed on his hand, an interesting one she didn't hesitate taking for a shake. She knew she wasn't in Japan anymore, but she still accompanied the handshake with a slight unconscious bow. "Nice to meet you, I'm Tsuushi Mizuko," she replied. "Mizuko for first name."

Now that she was closer, she can already see more of Travis' features, all beautiful ones, most of which she never thought existed in the real world. His clawed hand included. But her amazement wasn't that obvious on the outside, and for a moment she thanked the fact that she was the one who can read thoughts, and her own weren't so vulnerable to others.

She let his hand go and joined both of hers behind her back.

"So we're both new, what a treat! I suppose getting lost in this huge campus doesn't feel as intimidating if we're not alone, is it okay if I stick around?" she asked. "Or were you heading somewhere specific?"

"Mizuko," he said, more to himself than to her. Recalling names was never a strong suit for him. If he wasn't butchering them, he was just drawing a complete blank. He found it kind of ironic considering he had four heads when he transformed. "Yeah, I can remember that."

He couldn't help but note her normal features, compared to his own. She didn't seem all that fazed by him, and if she was she wasn't showing it. Either way it was all fine to him. Being a witch's son he's seen his fair share of weird things. He wondered how she would react if he just transformed.

"I literally don't know where I'm going. I'm just giving myself a self guided tour of the place," he glanced around. "Wandering around alone gets boring, so I don't mind the company."

Mizuko didn't bother reading his thoughts again. They were already more or less acquainted, which meant she can always just ask questions if she was curious about something. For now, there was nothing. She was just glad Travis accepted her company. "Great, shall we... walk around, then?"

She began walking, taking the direction Travis had been heading for before she bothered him. Her pace was slow, and she tried her best to remain beside him, while keeping a good respectful distance between them.

Curiosity was an odd drive that always gets her asking questions. It wasn't different for Travis. She was curious about where he was from, why he looked the way he did, and if he was even human. Those weren't what she asked him though. She began with a simple, non-intrusive question. "So, Travis-san--" the Japanese honorific was a habit she wouldn't be able to get rid of easily, "--what do you usually like doing?"

Travis walked with Mizuko in the direction he had been headed when they ran into each other. He still had no idea where he was going, but the fact that he had company made things better. He wondered what kind of abilities brought her here to the school. He'd save those questions for later. Keeping the conversation simple seemed like the best course of action. "Travis-san?" he smirked at her, "There's no need to be so formal."

The question posed to him was a tough one. "You mean like hobbies right?" he gave it some thought. His life for all intents and purposes wasn't normal. There was that time his mother and her coven opened up a portal and let an angry hellhound loose. He had somehow managed to beat that one into submission. Then there was that imp infestation back when he was twelve. He'd gotten into a dog fight with a griffon before too. "Sometimes I go flying, but I also like reading," he answered after giving it a bit of thought. "What about you?"

"Heh." A sheepish chuckle escaped Mizuko's lips. The honorific really seemed difficult to get rid of, but she would try if her acquaintances insist.

She was wearing a frilly red blouse and a black skirt. Her phone was in her skirt's pocket, and she began fumbling with it as they began talking about hobbies. Hobbies piqued her interest; they say so many things about what a person is like.

"Flying?" she absentmindedly turned her head to Travis' back. He had so many features which cannot be seen in normal humans, maybe he had wings he can bring out at will? Reading through it, she guessed he was the type to love peace and quiet, especially since he also said he liked reading. Something told her she shouldn't be too noisy around him then.

And then she grinned again. She brought out her phone from her pocket, a black smartphone with smooth edges, and slightly waved it between them as if to showcase it. "I watch stuff. All kinds of stuff. But mostly anime. Oh, and I read mangas, too, especially ya--" She abruptly covered her lips. She had to, or else the word would escape her again without warning. It wasn't like she hid that hobby of hers, to be honest she was quite open about it, but she didn't want to scare new people away. "Never mind that last part. Do you want to see something cool?"

He probably rattled off the word "flying" a bit too casually. It wasn't all that special to him, maybe other people just weren't aware of how big the magical world really was. Either way, birds did it so why not have flying people? He noticed her glancing at his back, probably looking for signs of wings. Showing was easier than telling though.

She was a fan of anime and manga. Travis wasn't really what one would consider hardcore into the genre but he could rattle off a pretty decent number of titles he'd read and watched over the years. "Yeah, I've checked out anime and manga before. It's alright," he said. He watched as she pulled out her phone.

"I bet I can top it, but sure," he grinned. He hadn't transformed since he'd gotten to the island. His body was beginning to feel stiff, though he didn't show it.

"Really now?" Mizuko grinned again. She held out a hand between them, her index finger and thumb together as if they held a small thing, while the other fingers were closed with the palm. She wasn't holding anything, though, yet. Slowly, a small chip materialized there, it was dark brown, and then she took her phone out and replaced the memory card in the slot on the side.

She did a few more things with her phone before eventually turning the screen to Travis. A video was going to play. At first, there was nothing but black, but the screen slowly revealed Travis from Mizuko's point of view after she slapped herself a while ago. And then the whole scene played on the screen, from that moment until when Mizuko asked if he wanted to see something cool. The video stopped playing, and Mizuko put her phone away.

"How's that for cool? I can show you other things, too!" She sounded quite proud of what she can do with thoughts, with her ability to make them accessible from outside the mind. And she would always gladly do it again.

Travis watched as Mizuko materialized a Memory card for her phone out of thin air. That part was kind of normal to him. Did she actually materialize a blank chip or does she collect them and store things she recorded in the past on them? No, her power was much more interesting. What he saw on the screen was the moments when she first saw him. "Yeah, that's actually really cool," he was genuinely impressed by the show.

"Still," he took a few steps back and inhaled, "I've got a few tricks of my own." His back elongated itself and his shoulders broadened His facial features became more beastial as Travis became enveloped in a mass of black energy. The energy vanished as suddenly as it flared up. Standing where the human Travis stood, was a large creature sitting on its haunches. He had grown taller, at least seven feet at the shoulder. Its body was feline like while its hind limb were more avian and his front ones were oddly human. He was covered in a coat of black fur and there was a pair of feathered wings protruding from his back. However, his most notable feature was definitely his four heads. His tail was black but hairless and covered in an exoskeleton of sorts and sported a snake head. It moved itself up to eye level with the rest of his heads, On the right there was a goat, on the left there was the head of an eagle, finally in the center was a lion's head.

"Well, as you can see," his snake head spoke, "I'm a chimera," his lion head finished.
