Anger. Disgust. Envy. Hate. Resent. Possessive. Hate. Isolated. HATE. Lonely. HATE. HATE. HATE.

The negative emotion that rose within Melody was beginning to choke her like a pair of spectral hands around her throat. Nothing helped. There was never this much of a charge within her at one time. Melody was afraid of loosing control for the first time in her life. Always having an outlet to charge into.

This time there was no one. No one to take the emotions welled up within her. Mel felt like something within her was trying to break out and shatter her into a million pieces. There was something else that made her fear.. Taking it out on someone that didn't deserve it.

Panting loudly Melody staggered into a back alleyway looking more like a drunkard or even a drug addict, both of which were not wrong. The runes on her skin glowing a vivid purple as she leaned against a cool brick wall to calm herself down.

"W-Whats happening to me...?"[/b]

Damon patrolled more like a predator, rather than a lawman. In fact, his whole being in general was like that. He was a cop, but not quite. Good at his job, but certainly not conventionally, and for some, at a price. People loved to argue over him, as well as stare at him with a mix of hatred and grudging respect, or plan to stab him in the back without ever going through with it.

He was more than comfortable with all this- it was the ideal. He adored his job and the state it was in. Others could argue all they wanted, and he was just going to keep on rolling with the punches and making all the self-indulgence count.

It was late in the city, his favorite time to go looking for trouble, and the air felt charged with energy. Something was familiar, he could feel it perking up his mind and exciting things, and a nasty taste was in his mouth. Clearly there was something worth checking out happening nearby, and he'd been lucky enough to stumble on.

Damon had always been lucky.

The dirty cop crept down back alleyways, areas that sometimes got to be like mazes for those not used to them (he loved it). Others lurking within either lit up at his passing through, or scattered like a bunch of terrified cats. He grinned like a shark at all of it, but also didn't stay to play around with anyone he could've. He had something specific to look into tonight.

"W-Whats happening to me...?"

And really, aren't all the best things gift wrapped in the form of a pretty face?

Instead of making himself known immediately, Damon took silent steps forward as he examined the source of the interesting energy he'd been feeling. She was glowing, even. He only grinned more, sharp rows of teeth shining eerily in the odd lighting.

"I don't think we'll have to wait long to find out," Damon offered in a purr, as some sort of morbid reassurance. "But I can tell you one thing, doll- whatever you've got goin' on? It feels very familiar."

"I don't think we'll have to wait long to find out," ... "But I can tell you one thing, doll- whatever you've got goin' on? It feels very familiar."

Damons inquiry was not supportive, Melody had prayed for salvation of some sort or another. But, her thoughts of Damon cam screeching to a hault. Given that Mel's back was to Damon the surface of a large round rune glowed brightly that it was visible from under her shirt. There were others on her arms, neck, down her back and sides even down her legs. All of them glowed angrily and brightly. It was the light equivalent of bothering a beehive.

Pain. Panic. disgust. Fear. Hate.

Emotion swirled within her as she pressed her forehead against the stone wall, chest heaving as she broke into what can only be described as a panting noise.

Her clothes were the next thing effected other than her body. Unable to take what ever unseen issue was going on within her for some unknown thing or another they peeled from her body like old paint flakes, or the shedding of a snakes skin.

Taking a deep breath a cry escaped her throat of pure pain as her skin darkened to resemble that of a nightmares. At first it looked like her pale skin cracked showing a dark purple layer under it before the surrounding skin started to color. Darker and darker the hue grew until it hit a shade of near midnight purple the runes standing out that much better against her skin... She was a nightmare.. Melody became a physical embodiment of what was welling up within her.

Turning her head to him her lips parted as a smile graced her features showing off a wide smile of pointed teeth. Silence was now the only thing that was there between them.
