<div align=center>It was good to feel a breeze in his feathers, everything was so peaceful during flight, autumn was in full swing and the forest canopy looked like a rainbow to him, it held it's own kind of beauty that took away some of the bitterness from his cold, black little heart. He landed on a high branch, stretched out one wing and began to preen the dark feathers on it. There was a mouse in the underbrush beneath him, and he had one, amber eye focused on the creature. It was so gentle, so unsuspecting, it didn't even know he was there, and yet, he could swoop down on it and crush it's tiny bones in a matter of seconds, tearing it's life away from it before it had time to breath.

Oblivion drew a breath and frowned as he felt the feeling return to his own limbs again, his eyes flickered open, and shifted to look up at the large owl staring down at him from the branch he felt like he'd been sat on a few moments ago, the creature took wing again, and swooped down to land on the top of Obie's head, he reached up a hand and scratched it softly on the side of the neck, it let out an appreciative sort of noise, and took off again, most likely to catch that mouse.

He liked the woods, they were dark, and Oblivion liked the darkness, there was a calming sort of feel to it, it made him feel refreshed. He was enough away from the school that he was less likely to come across students, though perhaps if he was bored he'd venture a little closer, there was always someone around to trick, or scare. He yawned lazily, revealing a mouth of almost wolf-like teeth, the owl landed next to him a moment later, half a wood mouse hanging from it's curved beak. Oblivion glanced to it, "bloody creature, that's all you think about, isn't it?"</div>

William ran as if he was running for his life, which, in some sense, he did. He doubted that Spirit would kill him over a simple exercise of speed, no matter what he said, but the new creature, the Warrior, didn't have a mind of his own quite yet. For him, William's word was still the law, and he had ordered a hunt for kill. He didn't even know where was he running anymore, he simply put one foot in front of the other, pulling on the last bits of his strength, which was, in the end, the point of it all.

He could hear something moving in the bush, but there was no way to know if it was one of his creatures hunting him, or one of the other creatures, a simply inhabitants of the wood. Thus, he turned to his right in a moment, avoiding the bush altogether, and continuing it to run. His breath was getting heavy now and he wasn't sure how much more he could run, but he had to keep going as long as he could, otherwise, there was no point. If Warrior caught him first, the only thing he had to do was give the order and stop the hunt before it was too late.

Fortunately, it never came to that. Spirit caught him first, somewhere deep within the wood, where it was quite dark despite that the clock still shoved the late daylight hours, the Warrior joining them not a moment later, signaling that it was close, and perhaps gaining some sense, if it let Spirit catch him first so it wouldn't have to act on his orders...

'Well, that was fun.', William said, looking around himself. 'Anybody knows where the hell we are?'

<div align=center>Oblivion snarled softly at the sound, lifting his head at the sound of a human. He'd ostracized himself from human society a long time ago, and no longer considered himself one. He took a moment to push himself to his feet, and when he did, the owl flutter up back onto his shoulder, settling it's self affectionately against his neck and letting out a short 'hoot.' Anybody know where the hell we are. That was a good question he thought, "someone's in a hurry." He purred, leaning forward on the tree limb he was perched upon, but God knows how he managed to get up there in the first place. There was a boy underneath him, he looked younger than himself, granted. A new toy, perhaps? Though he wouldn't get down yet, plus if he landed wrong it might break his legs, and he didn't really want that.

"Where are you?" Obie asked, softly, letting out a short, spiteful sounding trail of laughter. He shrugged, he was generally able to find his way out of places like this using animals, it was easier that way, birds had a far better view of the area than any human could hope to have, and a fox could hear sounds that he himself couldn't even dream of hearing, "lost, I'd imagine." He pointed out, still staring at the boy with bright orange eyes from the on top of the branch, he was debating whether to help him or not.</div>

Spirit scoffed at him, licking on of his paws, before speaking. 'Moving before thinking, as always.', he said in a sour voice, snarking. 'Or, rather, without thinking at all.'

William game a grunt of his own, crossing his arms on his chest. 'It's not exactly easy to think while you're running for your life, you know.', he said, looking down at the wolf-creature.

'Yeah? And who was it that ordered the hunt in the first place again?', Spirit scoffed again, still licking his paw.

'Me, I know.', William rolled his eyes on the sky, catching a glimpse of something dark in the tree. 'Can you get us out of here or not?', he said, turning around and looking up, trying to make out what it was.

'Of course I can.', Spirit said, standing up. 'I always know where we are. How would you get anywhere otherwise?'

'I would have to by a map.', William said, playfully, before frowning at the branches again. 'Warrior, come here.', he called to the other creature, a tall, slim figure suddenly appearing beside him, followed by the rainwall of long, silver hair. 'Is there something there?', he asked, looking at the creature's face. He nodded, once, sharply.

'Warrior, jump.', he ordered, looking once more up at the branch. The creature complied.

<div align=center>Oblivion stared at him, he had landed gracefully, on his feet much like a cat. He was a little more agile than your standard human, since much of his time as a child had been spent scrambling up trees and chasing dogs. He studied William with an unblinking stare, he was taller than the boy, though he was taller than most people, Warrior. He wasn't quite sure why he was being addressed as such, the owl had taken fright when he'd jumped, and flown off somewhere into the trees in it's panic. Obie wasn't worried, it'd come back soon enough, probably with half a rat clamped in it's beak.

And he was right, though the bird had returned sooner than he would have expected, it glided to the top of Oblivion's head and sat there, staring down at William with curious eyes, Obie reached a hand up to gently pet the top of the animal's head, not once taking his eyes off William's. "I'll have you know, I don't like being told what to do." He snarled, baring his teeth at the shorter boy, "watch your mouth." He added, lifting an eyebrow pointedly, the owl transferred it's self from the top of his head to his shoulder again, swallowing whatever furry creature it was holding as it did so. Oblivion frowned, "you know, I do wish you wouldn't do that." He grumbled, the owl shot back a somewhat disdainful hoot in reply, his scowl deepened. "Don't use that tone with me, you wouldn't even be alive if not for me."</div>

William gave the owl a funny look, but was soon reminded by Spirits loud snark that he had no right to comment on the peoples choice of companions. On their language, though, he might, and will do.

'Well, aren't you arrogant.', he said, looking the other boy from head to toe a small, unpleasant smile on his lips. 'And prideful, too, it seems.' He took a step back, and somewhat to the left, hiding his body behind the creature still standing in front of him.

'I wasn't talking to you.', he clarified, his body tensing as he adjusted his stanz. 'I was talking to him.', he smirked, looking at the Warrior-creature. 'Though there is no need for him to jump now. Warrior, stand back.', he said, but the creature didn't move. It stayed where it was, no different than before. 'Spirit...', he called to the wolf, the creature already coming forward on its own.

'Yeah, yeah, no need to call to me, alright, I do have a mind, unlike him. Thous, he seems to be getting one too, and fast.', he snickered, stepping in front of William to defend him. Warrior's only purpose was to attack, as Spirit was to defend, William.

'So, what do we have here? I honestly thought that I was the weirdest animal companion on the campus you know. Warrior doesn't count, he a) belongs to William, and b ) he ain't really animal.'

<div align=center>Oblivion's facial expression hadn't yet changed, his eyes flickered down to Spirit, then back up at William, he hadn't blinked yet, either. He thought the creature was interesting, he wondered what had been going on in the first place. Oblivion had the tendency to fall asleep in the tree tops, "what can I say?" He shrugged, "I suppose you could say I have a slight ego." Though perhaps 'slight' was a huge understatement, Oblivion loved himself more than anyone else he'd ever met, he couldn't help it, he just thought himself a likable person, whether he was or not. (And in the cases for most, he wasn't.)

Most would have perhaps reacted in a strange way to Spirit, but Oblivion had seen so many strange things in the time he had been alive that it was relatively normal for him. The owl stared at the animal, tilting it's head to one side. "She's a Strix." Oblivion stated, scratching the top of the owl's head, she pushed her head into his hand. Her feathers were soft, and he liked that. "Though I suppose an owl is the closest thing to her that's from this world, not quite as magnificent though, don't you agree?" She was far larger than any other kind of owl you might have found on the island, in fact, almost double the size of the largest species living there, "she's still not fully grown yet, mind you."</div>

'Yap, definitely something to look out for.', Spirit said, sniffing the air for the strange small of the animal. It was somewhat sour, and definitely quite heavy. 'I couldn't mistake that thing for an owl in the oil rain shower.', he said, scoffing, hoping to get the scent out of his sensitive nose. By him, Warrior nodded, even though he was ordered to stay back. He was right the other creature was finding his mind much faster than he was once upon a time; so fast that he wouldn't be surprised if he started talking any minute now.

'Well, at least you're willing to admit it.', the boy said, his body still covered from attack by both Spirit's and Warrior's. 'Though I do feel that 'slight' could very well be understatement of the century, and I heard some good understatements were used in the last few years of the world history tour.'

<div align=center>The Strix had begun to preen herself, every so often pausing to give Spirit what could have been a glare. She squeaked, and took off again, he wing span easily breached a meter, she looked huge in flight, and could probably have easily picked up a small deer at the size she was now. Oblivion wondered if she ever, he liked to enter her mind when she was hunting, he liked to feel the adrenaline of a kill. Oblivion didn't feel like attacking William, he felt a little lazy of current, and besides, what had William done to him. "Your name is William." He stated idly, his eyes moving from Spirit, to William again. Oblivion's stance was relaxed, "can't say that you don't have some interesting, uh..." He paused, "I don't believe that pets is the right word at all." These creatures were intelligent, something that could think for it's self wasn't classed as a pet, he thought.

Oblivion smiled, could be understatement of the century. He laughed, meeting William's eye again. "Well," he shrugged again, "I suppose it could be a... Small understatement?" Though he didn't think his ego was much of a flaw, Oblivion struggled to pick up his own flaws, though there was plenty of them, whether or not he wanted to believe it.</div>

'Yeah.', he said, looking him over again, trying to estimate whether he will be attack or not once he left the cover of bodies protecting him. Shrugging his shoulders to himself, he decided it didn't really matter anyways. Warrior was just that fast.

'How the hell do you know that?', he said, stepping around and in front of Spirit, the wolf sending him a death glare, only for William to smile at him, and pet his head. Spirit fussed angrily, but he didn't bite at the hand or try to get it away.

'And you're right, they aren't pets. They are summoned spirits.', he said, Spirit's body tensed at the word 'pet', his tail creating a small huragan as he dragged it over ground.

'And the difference is?', he said, tilting his head to the left, still smiling in the same way, a small, almost unpleasant smile.
