Leaning wearily against a large chunk of waterlogged driftwood, the coast guard member ran a weathered hand from his cheek to his neck, rubbing anxiously. He looked over the assembled group that had gathered at the beach, almost sizing them up, before finally standing up straight.

"Alright, well. First of all, I want to extend my gratitude to you here today. It's a selfless thing you're doing, and we certainly need all the help we can get, because...well. Frankly, it's a hell of a mess out there. This storm is no joke, so. Mind yourselves, and safety above all else."

Regarding them once more, he then lead them to the rescue boat to board and head off to aid the wrecked vessels.

Yvarn had shown up himself in his true self, a really tall Lizardman coated in green scales with deep green hair running down his head and spine, to the tip of his tail. As if he didn't stand out a lot as is, his clothes clashed with his looks, a white swimming trunks with dolphin prints and a light blute tank-top shirt featuring an yellow sunfish that was too cute to be true.

"Alright, think of me as a sentient oxygen tank and a diver. If there's someone in literal deep trouble, just send me in and I'll be there before you know it!", he had a confident smile, although a little bit unsettling given his apparently sharp fangs. Thankfully, biting anyone is never in his plans. "Let us all do our best to make sure no one is left behind!", he soon followed the coast guard member aboard.

Rem was dressed in his typical tunic, his halo and wings on full display. He wasn’t particularly dressed for getting soaked in water, and it was probably going to be freezing cold, but he was willing to get wet if need be.

He listened to the briefing carefully, nodding when he was finished. “Happy to be of service.” Was all he said, following to board the boat afterwards.

Once in the boat, he nodded at Yvarn. “Yes, of course.”

For once, Tribdan wasn't in their usual garb. All they had on was a black and blue full-body swimsuit and a band to tie their hair back. A much easier outfit to move around in without getting in the way of the others, even if they didn't like wearing something so tight-fitting.

After the coast guard spoke, Tribdan's mouth opened to respond, then promptly shut when the taller lizard-like man gave an energetic response. After he and Remiel were done, Tribdan smiled and followed them onto the boat. "I'm happy to help my new home. I'm unsure where I can help out specifically, but I'll try my best."

Illu was prepared--She wore a simple dress, ideal in the event that she needed to shift into her mermaid form. She had her spear slung over her back. She also kept a knife strapped to her thigh. She knew the ocean, even if the ocean currently felt chaotic and unfamiliar. There were many things that one could get tangled in. And the spear? Well...Manta Carlos could be an unpredictable place at times.

Of course, there was not nearly enough space on the boat for Illu and her clan members who had also volunteered to help. So, Illu had volunteered to go farther out to sea while requesting that the rest of her clan stay along the shore to help there.

She had chosen to wear her language charm, for the sake of easier communication.

"I am ready," she said, quick and to the point, before she boarded the boat.

A few minutes had passed since the rescue vessel set out from the shore. The small crew of coast guard members were hard at work keeping everything up and running in tbe hostility of the storm, but were still available if urgently needed.

For those with a sharp eye on the water as they made their way toward their first bit of wreckage, they'd be able to spot faintly glowing lights drifting past in the deeper ocean below. They were too dim to illuminate anything in the dark water, but nonetheless something about their movements seemed purposeful.

With the rescue team nearing a half sunken shrimp boat now, desperate voices rang out to the volunteers from the small crew stuck on the gradually worsening wreckage. "Alright. Those of you who can safely make their way out to the fishermen there, please do so quickly. They may likely be injured, and while we do have first aid supplies on board, time is of the essence."

((Alrighty y'all, do your stuff. My DMs are open for any clarifications or other concerns.))

Yvarn felt content with the team he was with, and once they set into the sea it was easy to notice how dire the situation was. But why did he look down at the water? Something was nagging at the back of his head, an intuition that there may be people stuck down there. They had to decide quickly on what to do.

"Me and the spear girl will proceed to the depths, something tells me there are people down there. Fellow tall man and the angel should get onto the boat to rescue those there. Of course, this is merely a tactical suggestion, follow at will.", jumping onto the sea, he floated just a couple inches from the water, calculating how much air he may need and then... He plunged into the water, surrounded by a large bubble of air. Should be way more than he needed, but there was no knowing whether his intuition was correct and how many were down there.

“Eh?” Rem didn’t understand that first guy at all. There were people right here, why exactly was he going deep? Rem never noticed the lights, instead focusing on the cries nearby.

Regardless of what everyone else was doing, there were people on the boat that needed aid. And so Rem flapped his wings and made it to the sinking ship as quickly as possible.

Once there, he’d follow the cries to the closest fisherman. After inspecting the person briefly for injuries, he summoned wings to attach to them and bring them up to him. He spoke quickly but remained calm. “How many are on this boat?” After getting an answer, the man would be sent back to the rescue boat while Rem continued searching for more. He’d continue this, having wings attach to people and fly them to the boat then poof when they arrived. He just hoped they would be able to take care of them back at the boat because that wasn’t exactly a priority for him at the moment.

Tribdan also missed the lights but didn't question the lizardman. Tribdan has quickly come to learn about those with sixth, seventh, and fiftieth senses. "Good luck, you two," they said before following Remiel to the boat. They were happy to be with him. He was young, and they wouldn't be able to live with themself if he got hurt on their watch.

Tribdan didn't have flight to speed up their movements. Throwing lava out now would, at best, cause panic. At worst? They didn't want to think about it. They limited themself to picking up those who were too injured or dazed to move quickly and return them to the rescue boat. A couple of times Tribdan went for Remiel when he was near and available, asking him to put wings on the fishermen. Less back and forth for Tribdan and it was quicker overall.

"Illu," she replied, clearly not appreciating the nickname.

Yvarn dove right in before Illu could really share her opinion--while she had seen the lights, she felt it was more important to stay near the boat where they knew people needed help. The way those lights moved, they seemed more like creatures swimming by than someone flailing for help.

It was worth keeping an eye on the lights, but Illu would not be following Yvarn.

She dove into the water, shifting into her mermaid form. While Rem was flying above, Illu dove beneath the wreckage to check for anyone who may have ended up trapped underwater.
