That would have been interesting to sit back with cigars and cognac. Maybe that would have deterred people from dancing by their table. Would have been ideal, dammit! She should have thought of that. Or go to the Angel n' Demon's bar, ya git. At least she deterred him from the whole 'hit-man' idea and steered him into something else she was uncomfortable about. Dammit, she should have said gardening or something else...But then again, she knew she had the goods to be a damn..good model. If she said she was a photographer, he'd probably ask for the pictures she never took. Then again, if she said she was a model, he'd most likely look it up. Either way was somewhat bad...But she didn't bother to give him a last name since she figured it wasn't needed. That was a good play. She decided to run with this little lie. Hopefully he wasn't going to ask to come over because the answer would be a flat out 'no'. He'd see a closet full of guns instead of dresses and a Glock taped behind the toilet. That would be hard to explain.

She chuckled at his compliments. Looked like the beer was working when it came to relaxing him...But good gravy he was such a lightweight wanker. She was halfway into her scotch. That either was some potent carbonated piss or he really did not have a high tolerance for alcohol. She loved to drink! It kept her sane at night. "Bingo~. Yer roight oy' am a model. Guilty~" after taking a generous sip, she could feel herself getting a little warm. Beer was the easiest to process and she could finish off a twelve-pack before getting tipsy. Scotch was a little different and took longer to break down. Hell, she didn't know how her inner plumbing worked, but that's what she noticed overtime. "Y'know, handsum', oy' can say th' same about you. Anyone can take good pictures! Maybe if you catch me in a good mood, oy'll let you take a few," She let that sink in for a moment and cringed internally NO. Now she gave him more incentive to see her again.

No, wait. This was just harmless flirting. This was normal. He was a handsome man so it couldn't be helped. Maybe he'd play it off as a joke and perhaps he'd be under the assumption that he'd never see her again. Hopefully that was the case. She didn't need to have any relationships. Relationships got in the way of jobs from either trying to keep her job of killing people a secret, or other assholes spotting her relationships as a sign of weakness. She was positive that he got this kind of vibe from girls he had talked to in the past so this had to be nothing. If so, maybe she could get him completely wasted that when he woke up, the memory of Lenn was nothing but a dream. Guess oy'll cross tha' bridge when oy' get to it...

"Ah yeah! I'm good at this guessing game!"

His inquisition slowed to a halt at having his guessed vindicated. Lenn was still a stranger for the most part, so he had no further information to try and catch her in a lie nor any incentive to do so in the first place. If she said she was a model, he just had to take her word for it. Plus, in his head, the idea lined up nicely with the surface level evidence. Lenn was a pretty woman with nice hair, eyes, and it was easy to see her figure even through the suit.

Lenn coaxed a quirked eyebrow from Jacob as she offered to let him take pictures of her, on the stipulation that she was in a fair mood. There was no way not to read that as flirting, and Jacob most definitely read it as such. His head immediately filled with images of him snapping pin-ups in some kind of studio.

"That's a mighty generous offer there. But first I gotta figure out what constitutes a good mood for you. And I gotta buy a nice camera. Unless you don't mind me snappin' pictures with my phone."

She had complimented his looks and offered to pose for pictures. Jacob was starting to feel the first buzz from his drinks since he was a total booze pushover. It seemed like the night had gotten a little more interesting in the club. He quietly wondered if there were private VIP rooms or something. But first, a question to see if it was even worth it.

"So you got a boyfriend or something? A little someone special back home?"

"Snap with woteva' you please~" she purred. Yes, she purred for him. Acting was very...very difficult. She found herself playing along with this a little too well and even found herself wanting to see how far this went. She really did find this guy interesting though, that was no lie...Which was the reason why she had to leave him somehow although the more drinks were involved, the harder it was to leave. For the first time in a long while, she was enjoying herself.

At the next question though, she did reflect only for a moment. There was someone a long time ago...and she didn't know where he was now. They were partners back then...Perhaps, the first human she ever trusted. It became awkward when she found out he worked for the same company that did 'this' to her. "No. Oy' travel too much to hav' a place t'settl' in so," she shrugged with a smirk before she reached over to finish up the second scotch. She took a break on the cloves and instead ordered Jacob another beer and a Jack n' Coke this time. Hopefully he could keep up with her! "It's awwright, no big deal," She took a generous sip of her coke. "So oy'm gonna guess n' say you don' have a misses back home eitha'? Hm!"

"Whatever I pleeeaaase..."

The Flirt Alarm was blaring in Jacob's head at maximum volume. All of her previous statements had the distinct possibility of just being playful jabs that only seemed flirtatious because of the alcohol and the situation. But her follow-up invitation to take pictures held no doubt about its connotation. And that purr! She lacked cat ears or a tail, so Jacob had no choice but to assume that she was using her womanly charms to win him over! To her credit, it was working.

Jacob only real reply was to slip his phone out from his pocket and idly thumb at the camera function under the table, as if contemplating just jumping onto the offer. Lenn would have easily seen it since it was on the side that faced her. After a moment, he slipped it back into his pocket with a sly little grin her way as he finished off his beer. Just in time for a third one. Lenn was spoiling him.

"I'm a little sorry to hear that. Feels like everyone should have a place to hang up their boots once in awhile.... I think I said that phrase wrong..."

As he started on his next drink, he wished they were sitting in a single booth instead of two separate chairs. Her guess made him chuckle into his drink, making him cough for a second.

"Is it really that obvious? An older man hanging out in a trendy young person's club where even doesn't feel like he belongs?

Yeah. I don't. We're separated now."

He looked a little wistful saying it. Nostalgic, but not sad. Jacob also intentionally left off the part where he mentioned that he also has a teenage daughter, whom was living with her mother. It was hard enough being attractive as a divorcee, saying he was an entrenched father would have probably left Jacob permanently high and dry.

"It's just me since I moved to the Island, and I've been kept busy at the Academy. So I don't get many chances to, uh, get out on the town, so to speak."

She honestly didn't mind if he really did decide to steal a picture right at this moment. With the way her tie was undone and the teasing bit of cleavage shown, it would have been a good picture. By the time the third beer arrived, Lenn had moved her seat closer to him. She figured he must have had some relationship, but married? Lenn didn't understand marriage. It was just some piece of paper saying you were together; that was it. Her parents never acted like a true couple, but that was probably because of her existence that they were so miserable. She heard of some people being ashamed of being a divorcee...Guess that was like having a stain on your resume and too many would deter someone from ever wanting to commit with you.

It was kind of...refreshing to get the intel on someone the proper way instead of watching said person twentyfour-seven. Normally if she needed to get information about someone, it was purely through...(she hated to admit this) stalking much like a lion would with it's prey. Dare she say it?...This was...fun? Lenn Greaves, freelance mercenary having...fun? Honestly, she had gotten a lot accomplished just by talking with Jacob. Not only was she getting to know him, but he actually helped her realize that if she was permanently staying here, she needed some kind of cover. Maybe that's why she liked him; just teeny bit.

"Well oy' guess it was a good thing ya came out tonite 'er else oy' wouldn' be sittin' here havin' a good toime," she chuckled and sipped her coke again. Good lord, it didn't feel right that she was actually having a good time...Perhaps it was a good thing she was drinking because then her cheeks would have been flushed for 'no reason at all'. She checked her watch. Hm. It was getting late and she had to make sure her equipment was okay... "Bloody 'ell, it's late..." she finished off the coke. Good thing it wasn't a tall glass, but it was probably a bad thing that there was more rum than coke. The world kind of spun when she tried to stand and instead she found herself plopping onto his lap as if this was just a casual thing. Well, it was either continue to sit in the club and recover..Or attempt to walk home. "Sorry, mate!" There was a hint of a giggle. Oh hell, it's all gonna' hit me at once... "Jus' gimmie a moment an' oy'll be off~"

In his head, Jacob was already prepping replies for any number of reactions Lenn would have given him for knowing he was a divorced man. He was hoping that, if she was really turned off by it, she would be polite enough to simply excuse herself with kind words and that would be the end of the night. But there was always the chance that she would think of it as funny, pitiful, or even shameful on his part. The best possible outcome, in his mind, was that she would be turned off from it but would still hang around to get to know him as a friend.

It seemed like Jacob was getting his wish when Lenn said she was still havin' a good toime. She appreciated the honesty of his admission, and yet still seemed to leave the possibility of wanting to continue their current trend of flirty teasing.

"Hm? Time to go, huh?"

He was a little disappointed by the universal watch checking gesture. If she was already going, he had only a few moments to ask for a number or something. It had been so long since he had done that. He had the wisdom and confidence of age though, and he knew better than his younger self. No point in ruminating on the idea, he just had to go for it. Just one sip for courage...

"Oof!"

Before he could ask and before he assumed she would leave, Lenn had fallen square in his lap, surprising him and knocking the bottle from his lips. Thankfully, nothing was spilled and everything seemed well. So long as Jacob could control himself with a pretty lady in his lap.

It only took a second, however, for him to adjust to the new seating arrangements. Lenn's giggle spurred him on and he put his beer down so he could wrap an arm around her waist and pull her closer.

"No worries, hon. Take all the time you need~ Hey, how about a picture?"

Jacob free hand reached for his phone and he held it aloft. There was no way Jacob would have indulged such a seemingly frivolous move as a selfie normally, but the alcohol and the situation just called out for it. Pulling Lenn even closer until he could almost rest his cheek on her's, he pointed the camera at the two of them and took the picture.

Normal Jacob would have shook his head at how embarrassing they must have looked.

"So whaddya think? Good enough? Or should we try takin' some more?"

Oh man...drinking everything so fast was probably a bad idea in public. Normally she held herself well when it came to drinking at her own place and she didn't require much travel to get a shower in and go to sleep. Unfortunately right now, she had to travel several blocks just to get back to her apartment. While she normally had a great sense of direction, right now things were just as fuzzy as the idea of being in a man's lap. She felt him pull her in and she allowed it, practically laying herself upon him after he suggested a picture! There was no way in hell that she would have allowed any of this to happen if it weren't for the alcohol--especially the selfie that she was posing for. Her cheek was nuzzled right up against his and she even smiled for the tiny camera.

Normally Lenn would have swiped the phone and disposed of it on spot--even as far as attempting to eat it if she couldn't get rid of it.

So he was suggesting more pictures? Well, she didn't want to be stuck here all night...And she was at least coherent enough that asking for a ride back to her place would be a bad idea. One, he'd know where she lived and she hadn't gotten the chance to hide her gear...

She looked to him and...wow. Hmmm. Just one more scotch in her system and she would have kissed him, but instead she brushed his bangs aside. "Well oy' got a betta' idea...Maybe we can take s'more pick'chas at yer place?..." It was a good idea, was it not? Hmm, would he let her stay the night?

What coherency was left in Jacob knew he was lost the moment he started thinking about how nice Lenn smelled, and not just in a casual whiff kind of way. As Lenn leaned into him and nuzzled her cheek onto his, he turned his head ever so slightly in her direction and took a gentle breath in through his nose of her. That kind of action never happened under casual circumstances. Jacob was starting to get in the mood and Lenn's actions were only exacerbating the feelings.

Of the things he found quite pleasing about Lenn as she sat in his lap, Jacob had some fondness for her height. Jacob was tall but not too tall, so he often had to look down at other women. Standing up, that would still have been the case. But with Lenn in his lap, she was just the right height to be even with him. So when she brushed aside his bangs in a gesture that was only a notch or two below a kiss, she met his brilliant green eyes straight-on.

"That sounds like a right good time, Lenn..."

His hand traced up her leg before he started getting up. With his arm around her waist, he gave her support to keep her from falling back again. His other hand went for his wallet to thrown down some cash to pay for the drinks.

"You think you can stand upright? Or do I need to carry you?"

Things were really starting to heat up, but at least he didn't put up a fuss with wanting to go to his place. Honestly, who would? She could just...crash there, or something. Heh, who knew if she was just going to 'crash'. She did suggest pictures after all. Since he was going to be taking her home, the least she could do was pay for his drinks as promised. She reached down, practically shoving his wallet back into his pocket. another silly giggle. Ah, that alcohol was running in her system alright. She reached into her suit and produced her own fancy little wallet. There was enough cash for the bill and then some for the girl's tip.

"D'aww don' worry 'bout me! Oy' got this..." she slid off his lap and..Oh! There was a bit of a sway, but she managed this time. At least the room didn't spin as fast as it did the last time, but that was probably because she grabbed at his arm. Oh yeah, too much to drink...and now that she thought about it, she didn't eat either. Stupid her. That's what she got for wanting to get this meeting over with so bad. Just to keep with her balance, she clung onto his arm much like a girl would with her newly found boyfriend, breasts and all plush against his bicep. S-Speaking of that, his suit was most definitely hiding something underneath. So firm, his bicep! Mmm~ just like the rest of his body. She could definitely feel that from laying against him for that picture.

Heat up was most definitely the right way to describe the situation with Jacob and Lenn. They were both smiles and giggles as they got up from the chair, slightly wobbly and mostly inebriated. She had her hand in his pocket and he had his arm nestled right in her chest. If there was any doubt left about the immediate future for the two, it was quickly dwindling as they totter out of the club, passed the dancing young people and a few staring eyes. Poor kids. Most of them would not be as lucky as Jacob or Lenn that night.

Now one of the reasons Jacob had been in that particular club was because of its proximity to his apartment building. It was only slightly more than two blocks away from his building. The pay from the Academy (and not needing to support a family) left him enough to get a fairly upscale apartment near the expensive entertainment district. Yes, it occasionally was annoying with all the light and sound, but it also meant he was close to just about everything.

All while the two of them walked, he kept having to adjust and pull Lenn up on his arm and get her to sidle up closer to him and generally act like they were a drunk couple.

"You know what? I'm gonna personally make up for that client not showing up tonight. I ain't gonna leave you high and dry, Lenn."

The two of them made it to his building without falling down. There was no way they were taking the stares, so Jacob called an elevator. A few dings later, they were inside and rising slowly through the floors. Jacob got a little bold and nestled Lenn between the wall and himself, face to face.

"So what kind of pictures you want, hm~?"
