Veronica was sitting in a tree, listening to the people below her.
It had taken a tremendous deal of effort and patience to climb said tree, and she was rather proud of herself for succeeding; she'd always wanted to try it, but her parents had never let her out of their sight long enough for her to attempt it.
Now she was sitting, wondering what one did once they were done climbing trees; she half wished there was someone with her to tell her, but dismissed the thought almost immediately. It was nice, being alone. The birds were chirping, the squirrels doing whatever it was that they liked to do, and... And she was dangerously close to loosing her balance. She wildly scrambled for something to hold onto, but the branches she'd climbed up on had mysteriously disappeared.
She tumbled over backwards, falling through the air, and stopped just a moment before she hit the ground, righting herself and slowly touching down. How useful her powers were... She wondered how she ever got along without them. But still, she was down from the tree, and simply lifting herself back up wouldn't be the same. She folded her arms, wondering if she should have another go or just walk back to her dorm. What time was it, again?
