Climbing trees

"I'm sure it would be." She yawned, covering her mouth half-heartedly with a delicate hand. "I don't go. I know more then the teachers anyway." She paused, decided the last bit sounded snotty, and shrugged. Who cares? "You've control of yours, then? Pyromantics without control of their powers... That's a frightening thought. On the other hand, it would be quite useful once mastered."

She laughed, realized it was the first time in weeks she'd found something amusing that didn't involve someone else’s' misfortune, and stopped. "Might I ask what exactly makes you so hostile towards that perfectly wonderful gender?"

"You," she announced, "have just described almost every single person I've ever met." A pause, while she considered this statement. "Except for the people who think it's the other way around." A sigh, and she shrugged. "I suppose I cannot blame them. One's life is just naturally assumed to be awful when one is blind." A pause, and she cocked her head to once side. “I hear fire. Is that you?”

Veronica was unable to resist an arch of the eyebrow at this. "Now I'm interested." She announced, almost regretfully. "What - who - was it that first instilled this view of men in you?"

"Judas..." Veronica frowned lightly, trying to remember where she'd heard the name before. "Oh, that's right. Had lunch with him once, I believe. We were having quite a pleasant discussion before some half-dead wench came over and started screaming at him." A half smile played across her face. "That couldn't have been you...? No. You seem much more... Decorous then she."

A pause. Wait, didn't this girl hate him? Ah well, she didn't really care. He seemed pleasant enough, if not a bit highly spoken of himself; and she couldn't really point fingers on that subject. "What, pray tell, did you fight about?"
