Christmas Party

Lila had heard about the Christmas party James would be hosting about a week ago, and so she dressed up nicely in a glittery red and green dress with matching flats and a gold, shiny handbag, as well as the necklace James had given her at the Winter Holidays party. She had even worn a Santa hat to really get in the Christmas spirit. It may have been too over the top for a gathering of just a few people, but she had never been one to underdress. It wasn't as if she had large sums of spending money - she was about as rich as the average student - she just chose to use her power of manipulation to 'encourage' shopkeepers to let her borrow (and sometimes keep) items.

She knocked a couple of times on James' door when she arrived as a warning before letting herself in. After all, he was expecting guests so she doubted he would mind her entering. She held a beautifully decorated cake for dessert as well as a bowl of chips for them to share. She had been told to bring food, but she assumed that nobody really ate well at parties.

As she entered, she spotted James sipping hot chocolate to one side of the room. She remembered their recent first date on the school roof, where he had taken hot chocolate too. Smiling, she quickly placed her food on his table before going over and giving him a hug. "Merry Christmas," she said quietly. Looking around, Lila noted the Christmas tree in the corner of the room. She was surprised he was able to get it. It didn't seem like something an ex-theif would have an easy time getting. She knew that she could help him out with that sort of thing, but was worried he might get angry if he found out about they way she shopped.

Kris, on the other hand, didn't have too much clothes, let alone festive stuff.. He hadn't had the chance to go out shopping. So he was wearing a comfortable pair of jeans, his usual boots, and his black hoodie which was currently zipped up. That, however, doesn't mean he can't be festive. And by he, he ment the massive amazon lady behind him, Quasar, who had a new accessory on her scarf! A snowflake. It was a small broach pinned on. Kris also had one pinned to his hoodie.

Speaking of behind him, Quasar was carrying a large, flat box! A pizza box! Seems like Kris was bringing pizza! A hand came up to rub at the inside of his ear as he sighed out softly. He had gotten an idea on what to get Nyota when he visited her room. She liked that star whatever show. So he got the perfect present, which was currently tucked away in a small bag that he was holding that housed a couple more items.

He blinked a little bit when he saw her! Perfect timing on his part! "Oh yeah. Sure. Let give you-" he paused. Don't say give you a hand. Don't say give you a hand. Don't say give you a hand, "A.. Help..?"

After a chuckle, he went to shrug once while a hand came up to simply knock at the door a few times. "So. You said it's not a lot of people, right? Last party I ended up going there was waaaay too many people for me to feel comfortable. Also the booze was guarded. So it was pretty lame.

Lila smiled. James was amazing, and she was so glad she got to know him and eventually started dating him. As much as she wanted it to just be the two of them, she was excited when there was a knock on the door. Knowing it must be one of the others who were coming, she was ready to greet them. He had already mentioned Nyota to her, the girl she had met soon after she arrived while watching a street performer. It would be nice for them to catch up, she thought, but she seemed so close to James that Lila worried it could be awkward between them, especially if they became closer to enemies than friends.

When James opened the door, she was surprised to see not one but three others there; She recognised Nyota, who stood with a bucket of KFC in one arm, the other... Didn't seem to be there. Whether this had happened recently or she hadn't noticed it when they first met, that was certainly a surprise. Next to her stood a darker skinned, casually dressed guy, who actually looked pretty normal. But behind them both appeared to be a third guest - an extremely tall woman with much paler skin holding a pizza box - who seemed the least human-like of them all.

James returned to hold her hand, thanking everyone for coming. "Hey Nyota, nice to see you again!" she said, hoping the girl remembered her. Otherwise they would start off awkwardly at the very least. Then, turning to the other two guests, she said, "I don't think we've met. I'm Lila, James' girlfriend." He hadn't mentioned those two to her. She wondered how well he knew them, particularly the woman, who looked like she could crush Lila's skull with one hand.

Brought his free arm to flex, "Hey if she is I can beat her up. Well not me. I'll have the giant behind me do it. Like usual." Kris joked, flashing Nyota a wink before the door opened. He gave a quick nod to the two of them. He knew neither of the two there!

He blinked a little bit and slipped in after Nyota. The being behind him went to pull a soda bottle from the bag Kris was holding before moving towards the table to set it, and the pizza down before returning to right behind Kris.

Kris, meanwhile, moved the bag up so it was around his wrist as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. Nyota was abandoning him to go to the tale. Now he had to... Talk to people.. "Uh.. Yo. I'm Kris. Nyota's friend. As she said. Nice to meet you both."

Lila smiled nicely while the greetings were being made. Nyota seemed different to when they first met, more... Awkward. But that could just be because of the surprise. She noticed the girl's cheeks turning red and her busying herself at the table. She was still holding James' hand and so couldn't go and catch up with her, so she took Nyota's excuse and turned to the guy named Kris.

Her first impressions of him were that he was much more calm than Nyota. He seemed to have no worries in the world, and even if he was a little shy he didn't appear to be overly nervous. It also seemed like he didn't know James either. Maybe Nyota brought him along. Was it possible the two of them were dating? She hadn't heard any news about either of them apart from what James had mentioned. "Nice to meet you too, Kris," she said. She couldn't be sure after only so briefly meeting him, but he didn't seem too bad of a guy.

Turning towards the woman, who was over at the table near Nyota, she asked, "And you are...?" She wondered if James knew her. She seemed more threatening than the other two, who she could see herself getting along with just fine.

Lila looked up to see a bit of mistletoe hanging above them. Classic Christmas move, but Lila didn't mind. "Oh well, I guess that means we have to-" and she kissed him, holding her lips there for a while before realising there were others in the room and pulled away, looking around to see if anyone noticed or was feeling uncomfortable. In particular, Nyota. She didn't want James' best friend to become too protective of him, and didn't want her to think that she was being too protective of him. The way James had mentioned her, it seemed like their relationship would be over as soon as it began if Nyota got involved.
