"Ehhh? If I was screwing with you I'd get you something worse! Trust me! My ability to screw with people is supreme, ask anyone who knows! Much more than just mixing up two things that pretty much have the same name!" Kris proclaimed, touching his chin as he tried to act much more shocked than he actually was. He rolled his eyes lightly before looking towards James, "Yeah. Pretty much exactly that." he stated before rubbing his head lightly.

He relaxed and took in a breath as he glanced at Nyota who was now complaining about having to build it. "Well. I mean.. Maybe you hurt it's feelings so much that it just fell apart 'cause ya had to go and berate it's family or whatever an' call it a turd."

He stretched out as he moved over to the table, taking a piece of chicken and simply sunk his teeth right into it. He took his eyes off Nyota for a moment, "So lovebirds. How'd ya two meet? You both do anythin' interestin' yet or know anywhere fun on this island?" Kris asked, his mouth partially full. For such a.. Feminine-appearing boy he certainly didn't act lady-like!

"I only arrived here a few days ago. Don't know where most stuff is."

He followed Lila and grabbed some food, "thanks for bringing food everyone." He gave Lila a grateful smile, he could tell she was trying to ease any tension, she was probably better at dealing with people than he was. In the past his interactions with people normally consisted of picking locks and pockets, so Lila being here helped a lot. He wished he had been able to get her a few more things, :merry Christmas," he told her, kissing her cheek one more time before taking a bite of his food.

He looked to Nyota as she asked for some batteries, "sorry I don't have any," he actually didn't have anything that ran on batteries, besides the cell phone a teacher had been kind enough to buy for him, though he was now considering selling it to get a few more gifts.

He turned to Kris, "we met at the Pirate's Feast back in November, asked her out at a party earlier this month," he smiled and and hugged Lila around her shoulders with his free arm, "I'd say I'm a really lucky guy."

Lila was mostly enjoying the evening. James was there, after all, and he'd done well to organise everything. But there was a strange tense feeling to the party. She guessed it was because there were three strong relationships in the room. Only one of them involved Lila. And the person she knew the least in the room was Kris. She still wasn't sure what to think of him.

For the most part, he seemed like a really casual guy who was easy to get along with. Somebody Lila would love to be friends with. But then, there were hints of anger and a slight bully-ish behaviour that came out only occasionally. The hypocritical side of her hated that side of him. Even though she could behave in the exact same way she disliked it when others did.

Nyota was still on the floor, trying to construct the gift she didn't want. When asked for batteries and a screwdriver, it didn't seem like anyone had any. "Wow, Nyota," Lila said, smiling, "Anyone would think you're a Star Wars fan at the moment." She thought of the plans to catch up with Nyota and the other guy she saw down the street more than a month ago now. Would those friendships have prevented her from meeting, or dating, James? Or would it have sped up the process?

When addressed by Kris, James replied, telling him where they met and then started dating. "Yeah, we were at parties both times," she added. That wasn't a big surprise for her, she met most people at parties. But it may have been different for James. She relaxed against him when he hugged her. She didn't say it out loud, but she knew she was a lucky girl.

Nyota narrowed her eyes to Kris, irritated that he continues to mess up the name of one of the most beloved franchises of all time

"ITS STAR TREK YOU DOLT!" spoke up Nyota, who then sigh.

"Shit..." mummered Nyota under her breath when she learned that James neither had batteries nor a screwdriver, she sighed as she dropped the remote control and kicked the BB8 toy lightly aside.

"Why the hell are batteries not included anyway? Whatever... I'll just have to do it later then." miffed Nyota as she walks over to where all of the food was assembled, brushing away the strands of hair that fell in front of her glowing eyes. She frowned somewhat to Lila over her earlier comment about her looking like a Star Wars fan... something that was somewhat of an insult to her.

"Star Wars fan? Please... its fucking stupid and nothing trash. I mean... space monks with glowing swords going by some quasi-regious space magic? A galactic-wide empire that who were basically space Nazis defeated by the carebear's hairy redneck cousins who had nothing more than sharpened sticks and slings? The travesty of comic relief that was... Jar Jar?! Star Wars is nothing more about a special effects retelling of good vs. evil... and surprise good wins. What Star Trek may have lacked in special effects... it made up for in dealing with relevant social issues and a far more believable universe grounded in real science that continues to inspire and predict technologies once believed to be science fiction. Also... Star Trek had way more badass women in is rooster than Star Wars. Like Uhura, Seven of Nine, Captain Janeway, Tasha, Guinan and ecticra. I mean, Star Trek is just way more ahead of times compared to Star Wars..." Nyota then stopped herself before she could continue her rant.

She wasn't even sure if they were even her words... all of which sounded like something either of her moms would say. Regardless, she takes a plate and starts stacking a pile of food onto it.
