Camera Shy... not really [Ceano]

Tavish raised an eyebrow. "New to these stuff?" he echoed softly. "I just moved here as well. And I'm just starting classes in the Academy."

He had a feeling that the guy in the bonnet--who still hasn't stated his name-- would also be a student there. Tavish began to lead their way back. "You haven't told me your name yet," Tavish said casually. "I've only heard about a Versil from you... unless it's a weird second personality you have that likes to name its counterpart, then I'll probably start calling you Versil."

"Heh," the blonde snorted, trying to ease the feeling of pleased discomfort — like he's embarrassed. For the first time in a long time, he is embarrassed, as to why, Giro can't actually point out the reason. "No one ever asked me my name before so, you have to forgive me." He then glanced at Tavish, and felt a little smile creeping on his face. Since Versil did all the talking for him to be admitted in the island and Kevin is someone who's rather over-protective of him, Giro never had any conversation (aside from the Arpeggios) with anyone yet. It was his first time to be approached by an islander, first time to shake someone's hand and be asked about his name. No one ever gave him much attention in such a short period of time.

He wasn't really sure if he's enjoying the attention though, all he knows is that it gives him a warm feeling inside his chest.

Like for the first time, he's actually trying to live.

Was this normal? Is this how normal people live about?

But then again, this island is far from normal. So he wonders... just how normal can this guy make him feel? His thoughts wonder to how many firsts this Tavish guy could lead him into.

"Giro Locker." He finally answered. "Like'Low-ker'." He added. "Nice meetin' yah."

Upon the blonde's explanation of his actions, Tavish felt a frown take his face. It was unimaginable to know someone whose name has never been asked of before. Almost everyone would be asked of their name at some point in their lives so Tavish didn't believe the guy--Giro, as he introduced himself.

"Nice to finally meet you, too," Tavish echoed, voice almost flat. He glanced at the other with a growing smirk. "Just so you know, I don't believe you because it's impossible that nobody's ever asked you of your name before. So basically... I don't forgive you."

Tavish had to admit though, the name was a nice name. It wasn't weird like his or too common. He had a lot of people question his given name and his last name. 'What kind of name is Tavish?' or 'Jane, as in the girl, Jane?' With whichever name he introduced himself as, he was subject to a joke, an insult or, if he's lucky, just plain curiosity.

Still, he introduced himself as Tavish for the reason that he liked its uniqueness. Ultimately, it is everyone's reactions upon hearing it that he didn't like.

"Eh, can't really blame you. You were not from my world anyway." Giro bit the inside of his cheek after realizing what he just said. Versil told him it's not good to spit things out just because you thought of them. So the grey-eyed man cleared his throat and attempted to change the topic by pointing at the other's camera. "Can I borrow that?"

So maybe that explained why Giro hadn't reacted to that little half-tease, half-joke. Giro was from a different world? Whether he meant it metaphorically or literally, Tavish couldn't be sure. This guy was eccentric enough as he is but that didn't guarantee sanity. 'God knows how many nuts probably live in this island,' he thought.

"Sure," Tavish said. He pulled the camera strap over his head and handed it to Giro. "You like photography?"

"I like taking pictures using my phone... but this," Giro carefully steadied the camera in his pale hands, quite heavy, heavier than his phone anyway. "This I never touched before." He admitted, slowly lifting the camera and hovering it over his face, aware of it's rigid... conciseness?

"Awesome," he muttered before trying to pop open a cap of some sort and when he failed, looked at Tavish, confused and somewhat disappointed. So the next thing he did was to give the camera back to its owner, making a hushed hum of disbelief at the back of his throat.

"By the way," he called to get the other's attention again. "I like your name." He complimented, honest without any hint of annoyance. Well, maybe there is. Annoyance at himself for not having his name until the island's papers called for it.

Tavish... the blonde wonders if it's a common name from where the other was from, and how he got it. Maybe he'll ask him, but there's also that part of him that doesn't want to. He's afraid that he'll just feel insecure, jealous even, to meet another someone with a proper identifier.

Giro thought about how nice it would have been if instead of being called "Wild Mane", he was called by his real name.

But it's hard to be called by your name if in the first place it does not exist.

At least now he has one.

"Well, then you like photography," Tavish replied. "Photography isn't just for camera users, after all."

Tavish watched Giro examine his camera. He came to wonder about where Giro might have come from when the other told him that he hasn't held a camera until now. Tavish thought the other might have been raised in another world where no cameras exist, or maybe he had been raised with extremely poor circumstances that he hasn't had the privilege of being able to touch a camera or use one.

When Tavish got the camera back, he stopped in his tracks and took off the lens cap. He pocketed it with one hand while with the other, he turned the camera on. Afterwards, he handed it back to Giro. "Go on, give it a try," he offered. He motioned to the city in the distance behind them. This place didn't have the perfect view point but the city was still beautiful from here. There was also the school before them, though it was covered with scattered foliage from here and was too far away to get a good shot. Even then, it could still be used as a subject. Any person with a good eye for photography could make something out of the scene even if it would make the shot seem a little unorthodox.

"Thanks, I guess," Tavish said with a shrug. "You've got a nice name yourself. It's, uh, unique." He wasn't used to being told that someone liked his name. A lot of people think it's weird and out-of-this-world. He just thought it made him unique and... himself.

A name's a name. There's no standard for what's weird and what's good. There are just some that are more commonly used than others.

Giro accepted the camera gingerly, a glint of euphoria eloquently crossing over his grey eyes. He fiddled with the buttons, looked through the lens, smelt the camera, and just about fingered every corner there is, awestruck with the little machine. Tavish only managed to get his attention when he complimented the blonde's name back.

The amateur found himself smiling sheepishly (one can't be sure if it's because of the camera or the compliment), before stepping away from the brown-haired man and taking a picture of Tavish. "You look real in this one," Giro observed, amused by the little frame."You look nice." He added after giving a whistle and immediately closing the distance he initially made. Holding the camera between the two of them, Giro somewhat let a happy chuckle and urged his new acquaintance to take a peek at his unproffesional shot.

Tavish watched Giro get a feel of the camera. He seemed quite enchanted with it that Tavish felt like he was looking at a child finding marvel in a new world. He stopped himself from smiling at the scene though. He simply watched.

Until the blond with the wild hair stepped back to take a picture of him. It was then when Tavish let his lips curl up to a small smile. He was rarely a subject of his camera. Besides the fact that there was only him to use it, he was always more interested in actual photography and not the vanity the called Selfie nowadays.

Tavish looked at the screen when Giro showed him. "So you're saying I look fake now?" he said. It was delivered flatly, but Tavish only meant to tease. He was just not comfortable with actually inflecting a teasing tone when he was talking to strangers as well. "But... um, thanks, I guess?"

Giro returned with a nod before feeling his cell phone vibrating inside his pocket. He reached for it, slowly flipped the phone (he was made to choose between a touch screen or a flip phone, obviously he prefers the wonders of Nokia 2760) and saw two new messages.

From: Verse

I have a patient here now, so take your time rounding the school.

The blonde gave the phone a skeptic look before opening the other message.

From: Verse

We're going out to stroll, keys are under the mat.

He closed the mobile with much force than necessary. A new patient who got her to walk at this time of the day? Giro felt irritated at the thought, like a kid robbed off of his favorite candy.

He turned to Tavish with a rather cold expression that he was not aware of. "Can we talk more? My doctor ditched me."
