The day had been slow. Tavish arrived on the island without much trouble before dawn. He'd gotten settled in just as morning came in. And while his new bunk had been very inviting, he decided he wanted to settle a few things before he should rest. All the documents he needed to give to the Admin office were quickly delivered even before midmorning.

By then, he didn't feel much like resting anymore and had wanted to look around campus and see the sights in town. Since classes haven't officially started yet, he figured no other student might be up to giving him a tour yet and were still probably enjoying whatever's left of their break. So Tavish took his longboard and just skated around campus, his favorite set of headphones firmly set upon his ears.

When the noon came, he moved on to wandering around town. This time he brought a small DSLR to take pictures of the local scenery with. He saw a couple strange things here and there, but then again, this was a place for the unnatural. And he belonged here now, so he had to get used to it sooner or later.

Afternoon rolled around and Tavish finally felt the shiplag and the tiredness of checking out most of the island catch up to him. Before he could reach the edge of town though, he saw a small grocery and thought he might as well buy a few things before he headed home. He needed a new razor and toothbrush anyway.

The clerk had been strange, too. As he left the store, he wondered what the closest thing to normal there would be here. Was there someone without any sort of powers here at all? What was the closest thing to normal anybody could get? How does one even measure that?

Giro Locker was snoring lightly under the shade of a huge oak tree. Feeling the cold breeze caressing the skin under his sando. His bonnet pulled enough to cover almost half of his face to block the glaring sun, but the wild curls of his hair refused to be contained inside that cotton bonnet. He'd been there since early morning, and now that the sun is not that hot anymore, Giro slowly regain awareness of his place.

Suddenly, he felt his right pocket shaking. it jagged his leg and being the sensitive man that he is, he was not able to ignore it. Urgh. Must be the phone. His phone is vibrating.

And only two people know his number.

And the other one is not using his so...

So yes. He's sure.

It's her.

"Hey," He answered, a bit sluggish, before yawning, "Giro 're."

"Get your lazy ass here you moron."

And that's all she said before hanging up.

Well well, he's into another trouble, huh? Versil's rage is not a force in par with his, so he better start moving.

With that in mind Giro slowly stretched his arms over his head, removing his bonnet as another bunch of crazy curls played with the rays of the setting sun.

A week. He's been doing this for a week and nothing, no one interesting has ever caught his eyes.

Well except for Versil's anger, that's quite a sight.

But still. He thought as he gazed at the drowning sun beside him, putting on his bonnet again.
This is way better than being a hired assassin.

The thought lingers in his head as he slowly get up and made his way to his dorm.

He strided down the hill where his favorite oak tree was and catch a glimpse of the road below. This is a bit different from his usual route, but he thought he'll discover a shortcut so Giro frolicked carelessly until he stepped on that concrete.

But then the grey-eyed guy looked around, a hand resting on his nape.

"Where am I?"

He'd been longboarding downhill so he'd gained a good speed, bought goods safe in his backpack. Tavish knew to always be careful and alert for whenever he's going this fast.

Anything can happen, more ever so now because he lives in an island where the impossible is possible.

One mistake he'd always be prone to doing is to stare at a beautiful, faraway scenery. This island has a lot of those. The image in front of him, the downhill path leading to a curve, but beyond that curve are trees and pretty houses and lights and the sea. And just on that horizon, the sun is setting with an ethereal glow to it.

Tavish doesn't know whether it's the location of the Manta Carlos or something magical and supernatural about the island that made this sunset in particular something to behold. And it was going to disappear soon if he continued down the hill at a gaining speed.

So he slowed down then stepped off his board, tipping it on one side so he could grab it and simply hold it as he went uphill a few steps to just the right point. He pulled out his camera and took a picture of the scene, wondering if this was something the citizens saw everyday.

Just as he was taking a shot of the quickly dipping sun, somebody stepped into the view. Tavish brought the camera down from his eye and looked at the stranger who seemed like his head was still floating in the clouds. He watched with curious amusement as the other's eyes roamed the place, and then spoke to himself.

"Where am I?"

Tavish heard himself snort. He said nothing though and looked away, in case the stranger heard him and took offense. The next time he chanced a glance at the stranger however, their eyes locked. He tried a small smile on.

"You lost?" he asked.

Giro glanced at the stranger with his usual relaxed and laid back expression, but in that brief glance his eyes wake into alert.

Ah. A stranger.

The blonde's hand left his nape as he slowly approached the other, observing him little by little with care - the camera, the board, that look on his face.

This may be the most normal he'd seen so far.

"Hello, stranger." He approached, tilting his head to his left. "Me, lost? Yeah."

Tavish raised an eyebrow at the stranger's honesty. He'd never met a man who would right out admit he was lost. A lot of guy simply had too much pride, especially if they were going to tell that to a complete stranger.

A complete stranger. The thought was comforting in the sense that this guy had no idea who Tavish is so he won't be introducing himself with a biased opinion of him. Just like this place. A new leaf.

He put his camera away into a side pocket in his bag. "Where were you supposed to be going? Maybe I can help you around," he offered, extending his hand out for a shake. "Call me Tavish."

"But why should I call you Tavish, Tavish?" The blonde narrowed his eyes as he took a step closer to the stranger. "Does it make you feel proud, your name?"

Tavish raised an eyebrow at the question. He huffed a little before he answered. "Yes, because it's my name. What's there to not be proud about?" he answered. And that quickly, he was losing his interest in the guy whom he felt was suddenly challenging him. He still kept his hand hanging between them though. "Why? Are you ashamed of your name?

Giro smiled widely. "On the contrary," the blonde replied, leaning away this time, finally able to see the sudden change of expression the other showed him. "Versil gave it to me, so I'm hella proud of it."

Tavish felt confused. Was this guy challenging him or not? He certainly seemed like he was playing around now. Tavish sighed. Yet again, he has met a weirdo. Not surprising since the island was full of them.

"Versil, huh?" he asked, slowly pulling his hand back in. It didn't seem like the other was going to be shaking his hand any time soon. "Nice to meet you... maybe. C'mon, let's go. It's going to get dark soon. It's better if we get back to the Academy soon."

"Oh wait," Giro said before gently reaching for Tavish's hand and lightly shaking it. "Bad manners I know. I'm not brought up well, see?" He chuckled and let go of the other's hand. "I'm still new to these stuff." Giro smiled, at least that's what he think he did and continued with: "Yep, dorms. I need to help unpack. We just move, how about you?"
