Van was wealthy, it wasn't a secret, but he had never really showed this wealth off, the mansion had been a gift of sorts from a friend, a large place where he could carry out his research into vampire bloodlines, but after spending this year as a teacher he had decided to put the mansion's large ball room to use, he had decided to throw a holiday celebration, one meant to give new students a chance to mingle, make friends.

The room was decorated tastefully, a simple tree in the center, with tables lining the walls covered in foods of all sorts, he had made sure to cater to every kind of being that called the island home. A piece of mistletoe could be seen floating around the room, one of the teachers had enchanted it for him, it was an amusing idea, one that added a little excitement to the party.

Any moment now guests would be arriving, so Van stepped to the door intending to welcome his guests personally.

Lachlan was early, he had been sitting outside for at least an hour before going inside of the gates to the mansion, with a growling stomach. Yes he had heard there was food and yes, they where his main reason for coming. This would however still be a good opportunity to get to know people, well students really, who could become friends, friends where good right.

He decided he would go up to the mansion from its gates and he wouldn't play his old trick of pressing the doorbell and turning into a cat, it would be easier to move around as a Neko, basically a human with cat ears and tail. Since students where in fact invited... While his mind was going in circles a fly had landed on his cheek, if but for a moment after he had pressed the doorbell and only for a minute. He rubbed his cheek with the side of the right hand, where the thumb and index fingers connect.

"No way. Is this really it?" Kris asked. The boy, clad in simple pants and an academy sweater. Why not? It was cold. This thing was much warmer than his other sweater. So he decided to wear it. Still, under those layers he did look rather girly. He glanced back at his silent companion that was always behind him, a massive seven-foot tall woman with pale green skin and glorious white hair. "Eh. Why am I even going? Well.. They probably have food, right? A house this big.. I'd hope they wouldn't skimp out on food for a party."

"Eh. Why am I asking you any questions. You don't speak." he huffed out as the two of them made their way up to the two. Kris blinked, noticing someone else was nearby. He stuffed his hands into his pockets as he glanced to the other boy, giving him a quick nod. "Hey. Here for the party?"

Archard wasn't sure how long they should wait before knocking on the door. They were early, but standing outside seemed like a creepy thing to do for a long time. Plus, they made their dress a bit longer than necessary, and they always had a distaste for dresses that dragged all over the floor. Not only could people step on it, they could trip on it, and the dress could drag onto something that they couldn't wipe off easily. Instead of just letting it drag on the floor and hope for the best, Archard wrapped it around their waist in a fashionable way. In fact, it added a new feel to their tuxedo suit and dress fusion outfit. Only issue they had was how sparkly it was, but that was typical considering their daughter made it for them.

After Archard fixed their outfit they decided that that was enough waiting, and even spotted someone walking up to the door too. In fact, there were two people who came up. Archard followed and when they arrived they asked the two, "I am at the right place, correct? For the Christmas party?"

Anthony Reyne walked to the source of the sound, his earphone still in his ear. He was wearing a black blazer, with an intricate rose logo behind it, a dark red shirt underneath, with a black tie. A black slack and scarlet red shoe completes the image. He is still unsured whether or not to even come to the party. But he figured, he should make some friends while he is in the Academy. He saw three people already engaged in a conversation, and he walked towards them, with the full intention to impress at a first impression.
Which is what he had planned, however, his cool entrance went slightly out of plan when he trip and fall when he saw how elegant the hall was. Struggling to get back to his feet, he said " Hello there, sorry for that. Guess you can say, I fall in love with you guys", his tone amusing.

Peregrine strode up to the door of the mansion like he belonged there. It was a natural walk, born of his confidence, uninfluenced by any thoughts of putting on a show for other people. He had been to a lot of parties growing up, so this was kind of his thing. He was dressed as usual in a nice suit, pressed and polished. The only thing that slightly ruined the effect was his garish Chistmas-themed tie. He'd agreed to it because he was going to the party as himself so Dot couldn't wear her new dress.

Dot was also the reason he was here so early. It felt odd to be at a party on time, but she had been getting impatient. Besides, as she had reminded him, it was pretty much for students or younger people, not one of the high class things he was used too. That hadn't stopped him from getting a gift for the host though. That was only proper. Bird had purchased a fine Napa red wine, which he felt would be appropriate for a vampire, although he didn't know if they actually drank wine. Dot had had a hand in it too - the bottle was a little sloppily wrapped in festive Christmas paper that almost matched his ugly tie and topped with a bright red ribbon. Bird shook his head to himself as he shifted the bottle in his hand, and watched the others who had arrived ahead of him. He simply nodded at each of them as he waited for the door to open. He was very new and hadn't gotten to know anyone yet after all.

He pulled the doors wide and smiled brightly at the first arrivals, "welcome welcome," he said in his usual sophisticated yet warm voice. He stepped aside to allow his visitors to enter, "please come in, plenty of food and drink," there was some alcohol but he had people watching those tables, making sure no one underaged tried to sneak some.

The floating mistletoe continued to float about as if waiting to find a couple to float above.

He stepped back and bowed, "my home is your's for the evening my young friends, come let us enjoy ourselves."

Clad in student uniform and a black collar with a bell he felt somewhat under dressed when he saw what the others was wearing. Now the proper thing was to mingle and take just a little bit of food, just as much as a sample, or so he had gathered, however his stomach growled. Since they where all gathered he could at least greet them and progress slowly to any table with food on it.

"Hi, my name is Lachlan Macloed. How are you" Trying to be all proper he extended a paw, well in this form it was called a hand. He hoped all of them where just a bunch of anti social people who was just there to say that they had been there, there was people like that who just wanted imaginary credits, though such luck was probably not warranted. He had to work his way to the tables. Then he noticed it, someone had brought a gift and he wondered if he should have done the same, it was after all a Christmas party.

Kris glanced at the new arrivals for a moment. He knew.. None of them! Absolutely none. He frowned slightly for a moment at the present. Should he have brought one? Nah. Invite would have probably said or something. He shrugged once for a moment, offering a wave to the host. "Kris." he simply said to introduce himself. "Tall giant is called Quasar. She doesn't talk." was added on to introduce the spirit standing behind him.

Of course when allowed in, he didn't wait twice to move on in, crossing his arms a little bit as he glanced at all the others, a bit curious.

Anthony gets up from his fall and saw, whom he thinks is the host, introducing himself. Feeling embarrased out the whole thing, he wave at the host, and smile graciously. He saw someone extending a hand to no one in particular, and feeling friendly, began to walk to him. In his rush, he did not notice a student with his arm cross, and accidentally stumble to him. Knowing he was in the wrong here, he said "I am so sorry, I didnt notice you. I am Anthony by the way. And you are..?" He asked the new student, all while extending his hand.
