Madame positively adored everything about the academy — there was always something to do or someone to meet, whether that was during her classes or her downtime. On top of that, there were also plenty of secluded spaces to retreat to when she was craving something more relaxed and quiet. Currently, her mood was somewhat ambivalent, unable to decide where she wanted to go or what she wanted to do. Homework had already been graded and so she had no pressing business to attend to.

Ah, it didn't matter. She would find something to occupy herself with; she always did.

And thus she found herself wandering the academy halls, heels clicking against the floor, the long train of her skirt trailing behind her. She smiled and greeted students as she passed, her blue gaze drifting about in search of something...interesting.

Which she soon found, in the form of what appeared to be a fellow faculty member down the hall. This would do nicely, as she wanted to acquaint herself with as many of the school's staff as possible. Thus, the lady spider increased the speed of her gait just enough so she could catch up with the stranger and smoothly fall into step beside him.

"Good afternoon," She greeted with a polite dip of her chin, a pleasant smile spread across her darkly painted lips, "I do not believe I have had the pleasure of making your acquaintance. I am Madame Tarantula. Am I correct in presuming you are also academy staff?"

Although many of the adults within the halls of this portion of the school were teachers or other academy employees, it certainly didn't hurt to check. Her head tilted to the side slightly, ebony curls brushing her cheeks as she watched the male beside her curiously.

It had been a relatively slow day, all things considered. The Personification of a Tarot Card had not received any patients in the infirmary at the Academy, at least not in his portion. He healed far more major injuries, which were generally from mishaps with practicing powers and any other unfortunate impacts that came with what they did there. It was rather entertaining sometimes, hearing the stories that came from the students as they sniffled through their treatments. There had not been stories that shocked him, but ones that reminded him of his old adventures when he wandered across the world. Ah, he had started to feel nostalgic.

So, with not much going on, he wandered through the hallways in search of some kind of entertainment. His cards sat in his hand, as he flicked them back and forth between his hands. Maybe he could do some divination, but for whom? It was a school day, was it not? Videntis had almost always been bad at figuring out what day it was, with the whole calendar thing. He just kind of went with whatever happened during the day - and he was starting to get the hang of it!

It was most certainly a surprise when someone approached him, and not vise versa. He stopped, and turned around with the cards stopping their playing with the deck. Electric blue eyes lit up with delight at the sight of a familiar face. Videntis lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people, but the same face? Oh, it was a lucky day indeed. Everyone who reincarnated always was on a new path and unfortunately they did not cross each other as often as he would have liked.

"Madame Tarantula!" Chirped the male, a smile crossing the sharped features. "I am. I have been hired as a healer for the Academy. Why did you not write me that you too were hired here? I would have come much sooner! It has been far too long since you have written me."

Was that familiarity in his voice? The two had not met before this day, had they? And yet, he spoke to her as if they had been friends for centuries.

Her crystalline gaze was quick to take in details about the male — his posture, the cards in his hands, the way his face lit up when she spoke to him — all of it was very curious, and had her arching one well-manicured brow. Still, her expression remained friendly, albeit with an added tinge of amusement.

"Write you, sir? I would have to know your name first," A soft chuckle lulled from her then, her smile brightening. This certainly was intriguing. No matter how hard she racked her brain for memory of this man, she couldn't place his face anywhere. Despite this, his mannerisms were laden with a certain sense of familiarity that she couldn't shake. It was not as if she kept many penpals, only very close friends and loved ones received penned missives from her.

"Please do forgive me. If we have met before, I am having a hard time recalling it. Where do you hail from?" Her posture straightened a fraction and she inclined her head attentively towards the male, eyes keen with interest.

Delight briefly turned into confusion as the woman explained that she knew nothing of him. They had not met? Nonsense! He would recognize her face anywhere! The tarot card actively attempted to remember the faces of those who were around him, especially those who left quite an impression - generally those who were apart of the supernatural portion of the world. Those were almost always his favorites, since they always had such a delightful view on the world about them. Humans became so monotone after quite some centuries.

"Ah, Madame. I have hailed from almost every place. I have reincarnations, I have told you before." He smiled despite the fact that their meeting had been denied. It had been quite some time since their last meeting, so he figured it plausible that she would forget - especially since she now worked at an Academy that rotated its students yearly.

Videntis' put his cards away, and kept his smile. "Allow me to re-introduce myself." He placed his hand over his heart and bowed slightly, never breaking eye contact with the woman. "Videntis. I represent the High Priestess Tarot Card, as they call it now. I am a follower of the God of Prophecy, Apollo." He introduced himself, before standing at his full height. "We met long ago. Five hundred, six hundred years perhaps. Time is so peculiar now, with how humans view it."

A soft, melodic 'hmm' escaped her as she listened to her new (or old, it seemed) acquaintance speak. A touch of remorse tinged her expression, tongue clicking softly.

"My utmost apologies, monsieur. We must not have discussed the, hmm, faultiness of my recollection, when we were previously familiar," That felt like a thorough enough description without becoming too personal, she decided. "But, there is never a better time than the present to become reacquainted."

The lady spider paused, another smile flitting across her dark lips as Videntis bowed and introduced himself. A noise akin to a quiet, barely perceptible purr reverberated from her throat. It was so nice to see such etiquette preserved in the modern age. In return, she curtsied elegantly, bountiful skirts gathered in her slender hands. Afterwards, she straightened up impeccably and smoothed out her dress.

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance once more, Videntis. I hope a happy friendship awaits us after this reunion."

The male simply raised his hand and dismissed the apology with a chipper expression. "No need to apologize. Out of all of the things I have learned over my lifetime, I suppose that escaped my findings. I apologize for not looking further into it. But, such is life." He smiled, letting his hands fall back to his side before smoothly slipping to clasp behind his back.

As she curtseyed in return, the healer bowed his head in return as he had already bowed. Old habits died hard, however this was not necessarily a habit he wanted to give up.

"As do I." He agreed, before turning slightly and making a motion. "Would it be too forward to ask that we perhaps take a walk and perhaps catch up? If you have other things to be doing, I do not wish to keep you." He asked. Catch up would be more on his part, given he knew her some time ago. But this would also give a chance for her to ask him about a myriad of things about him.

Despite her apparent faux pas, things were smoothed over rather easily, and this pleased her. She disliked forgetting those she used to know, but it was out of her control, so she did her best not to dwell on it. Instead, her focus remained attentive on the male before her, a light smile lingering on her painted lips.

"No, not too forward at all. I would be happy to walk with you," She slinked closer to better fall into step beside Videntis, her hands daintily folded and rested against her lower abdomen. "So, mon ami, what drew you to the academy? What occupied you previously?" Her head tilted some in curiosity, her gaze only briefly leaving the male's face to keep an eye on their surroundings.

Neither party seemed pestered by it at this point. Neither could be held at fault - Videntis did not seem to know and Madame Tarantula could not control losing her memories after her time. As the woman fell into step with him, he returned to walking through the hallways. His cards returned to his hands to keep them occupied, just moving them back and forth between themselves, shuffling occasionally.

"Ah, I am still on my quest to bring the world of the God of Prophecy to the modern world. I just wandered, staying at temples and shrines of those who would take me." He hummed, giving a smile to the woman. "The Academy... It felt right, as they say. This island is an epicenter for the supernatural. But also for those looking to find their way, find their balance. This island drew me. The school needed more healers... I can heal. I can help the youth heal physically, and maybe help others heal mentally."

The High Priestess looked down to the cards in his hands, contemplating for a moment. "And may I ask what has drawn you to the Academy?"

There was something soothing about walking and speaking with a found-again friend. The sounds of the surrounding school seemed to fade for her, so that the only thing truly present was the rhythm of their footsteps and Videntis' words as he spoke. A gentle smile curved her painted lips, and she gave a nod of understanding.

"The modern world is lacking much of the past's sophistication, whether that is belief systems or simple manners. The island is certainly a good place for such endeavors," She agreed, posture straightening absently as she smoothed over her dress. "You may ask, of course. You might say that it also felt right to me in a different way. I cannot recall where we met, but my most recent permanent residence before Manta Carlos was in Paris..."

There came a short pause, rather pensive despite its briefness. Even now she struggled to speak about her recent past, a stark contrast to how eloquent she normally was. The moment soon passed however, and she continued, vaguely.

"The city was no longer friendly to me, so I had to find a new place to set up shop so to speak. Helping to teach the varied youth here seemed a worthy pursuit, so here I am."

ooc: no worries! there's never any rush.
