Maddie didn't know much about art and paintings. She knew the basic stuff, Mona Lisa being one of those.

"Oh," she said as they stopped in front of it. It was a lot less impressive than her old art teachers would have had her believe.

"What was the one with all those clocks called?" she asked. "Or the one with that screaming face?"

Yeah, she was pretty uncultured. And very much reserved.

((The melting clocks one, right?))

"That one is called 'The Persistence of Memory'... I think the artist was... Sal...something. And the screaming one is... Well, 'The Scream'... " He laughed at the contrast between the names. "Really creative naming on that one."

((Yup!))

Maddie blushed at his knowledge. "I can only think of the portrait of those farmers, now. I don't know many paintings."

She tried to make the face Mona Lisa was, but she couldn't look that serious without cracking up.

Laetus laughed. "Well, I am an art major. I should know these things at least."

((Must...stop...reading posts before bed lool))

"I bet I could know more than you," Maddie dared as she inspected an art piece.

She put her hand at her chin, eyes narrowed, and lips pursed. She knew nothing of this piece, but she could pretend.

"From the 1600's," she nodded like this was the utter truth.

((Lol))

Laetus nodded. "Yeah... Well, close enough." He said quietly, though he really isn't good at lying to her.

((Referring to Mona still, I'm assuming.))

"Shhh! I'm...doing art stuff," Maddie said to Laetus as she turned on a heel and walked to some random painting.

She motioned to it, face as professional as ever.

"Here we have the L'mare.," Was that even a real French word? Who cares!

Was that even a real French word? Who cares!

"It was painted in," she hesitated as she thought of a time period, "1791 by the famous and talented..." one of her eyes closed a little as she tried to think up a French name, "Cha...stel Bourven. Yes. Chastel Bourven. Fine artist, he was."

((I believe la mare is a horse... the name, to my knowledge, is gibberish. XD I love this. Oh, and side note, because I don't know what parts of this are you and what parts are her. Not everything here is made by a french artist... In fact, a vast majority is Italian Renaissance I believe.))

Laetus simply nodded, trying his best not to laugh. "Yes, yes. Well done, Cherry-chan."

((Well, I know more about art than Maddie lool. Like, I know what Mona Lisa is and many of the other famous stuff. I know most of it came from the Renaissance, but art history is not my strongest subject. ;). For the purpose of this, though, totally making Maddie just...terrible at all things art.

And horse in French is un cheval if I remember correctly. I've only done some beginner French stuff -,-))

Maddie cleared her throat, giving one little nod and looking around. She motioned to the Venus de Milo. Was it considered a statue or sculpture?

"This...statue was made by...by a Greek man..." she stared at it harder, "as you can see, it depicts a woman without arms."

((If uninformed art history is a pet peeve of yours...look away. Look away now.))

((Oh, youre right. I just thought mare, like a female horse. I looked it up. Mare in french means pond/pool. And I dont care, I find all of this hilarious X3 Also I'm not all that knowledgeable, but laetus is XP))

Laetus smiled and nodded, biting his tongue, both figuratively, and in order to not laugh, quite literally. This time she was much closer... at first, but the simplistic description of the piece nearly made him burst out laughing.
