Paris, a city of magic and romance. Maddie hadn't expected she'd ever come to France. She felt like a rebel, what without a green card and all.

Standing on the Eiffel Tower with Laetus, mid-day and peering over the land. This was even better than the fair. Maddie looked down and wished she hadn't. They were waaay up. She wasn't normally afraid of heights, but not too long ago she'd jumped off a building and that had been terrifying.

She breathed in the clean air and grinned up at Laetus.

"What should we do first? Do we get a hotel room, or what?"​

Laetus looked out at the city, remembering the last time he was here. When she asked him about a hotel, he nodded. "I have a room reserved already." He told her with a smile. He opened a portal and walked forward as if off the edge, still pulling her along. There was no drop though, giving the unexpecting the feeling of trying to take that extra step that isn't there at the bottom of the stairs. The room was a beautiful suite with a view of the city out a balcony window. Laetus smiled and took in a deep breath, as if remembering something. He let a short laugh escape, as if remembering a joke.
Zippo hopped off his shoulder the instant they got in, and laid claim to the corner of the bed, looking out the balcony doors.

"How...?" Maddie asked, stunned as she looked around the room.

Bandit made himself at home on the bed, glaring at Zippo the whole time. That drake would have kicked his ass, though. Face facts, Bandit.

"This...seems expensive. How did you manage this? you have it on reserve?" Maddie's eyes were wide.

Laetus gave her a devious smirk. "My dear, therein lies a story." He sat on the king-sized bed and leaned back into the cushioney softness.

Bandit turned his stare on Laetus. For a second, the dog was calm. Then, Bandit scooted closer to Laetus, as if to cuddle him, and stretched his legs out in an attempt to push the man off the bed. This was his bed. He claimed it.

Maddie stared at the one bed in the room. She gulped. She needed a distraction.

"Tell me the story, Kiwi. What did you do?"

The unexpecting Laetus was shoved off the bed, catching himself in a hover just off the ground. He smirked and glanced at Bandit, and a portal dropped the pup into the bath tub in the next room. Laetus then laid claim to his territory again.
"Well..." He started the story as if nothing just happened. "So, last time I was here in Paris, I was visiting with a spirit friend of mine I met in Japan. Well... He's kind of a prankster, and decided to mess with the guests here." Laetus laughed. "So, after he had his fun, I told the hotel people I could 'get rid' of their ghost problem in exchange for a free room. They were losing business like crazy, so... Yeah, they had no choice. They agreed, I convinced him it was time to leave, and now I have a free room." He was laughing the whole time. "This was a few years back, and I wasn't as good at finding odd jobs, so I kinda did lots of horrible things like this when I traveled."

Bandit came charging out of the bathroom by the time Laetus was done with his story. He looked around, then went and laid in the corner, dejected.

Maddie grinned at Bandit, then climbed on the bed next to Lae. She did this as if he may break.

"Kiwi, if I didn't know any better, I'd call you one of the bad boys."

Laetus smirked. "Oh, super bad." He laughed and laid back in the bed. "I never really thought about things I did. Always seems to work out... I actually have a similar story involving a Yuki-onna and a hot spring hotel."

Maddie laid back beside him. The bed was the most comfortable thing she had ever experience.

"I feel like I'm laying on a marshmallow!"

She turned her head to him. "So, uh, we're going to both sleep here? On the bed? Together?"

Laetus nodded and rolled around a bit to get comfortable. "One of the best beds I've ever slept in... Is something wrong? It's a really big bed."
