RE: behind the sea (open)

Leo didn't have the energy to play up. He was weak and exhausted and at this point he'd really rather just die than stay here, he wanted to be thrown back into the ocean where he belonged so he a shark or an orca could eat him and he could be done with it. He felt something secured over his mouth, and hissed loudly as he was rolled onto his back, whimpering again and growling softly at the stranger. What was his name again? He didn't remember, his head hurt and his memory was feeling fuzzy. I'm so tired. Maybe he could just close his eyes for five minutes and sleep, shut everything out for a moment or two.

Leo passed out again, waking up in a different room this time, and he was confused all over again. He'd only been out of it perhaps less than ten minutes or so, but to him it had felt like hours and when he drew a breath, pain shot through him and forced a soft groan from his lungs. "Por favor me mate." He mumbled, voice heavily muffled against the muzzle he'd been strapped in. He'd rather be killed than sold if that was what the stranger was planning to do with him.

RE: behind the sea (open)

Emilio brushed the bloodied hair away from Leo's face, only ending up smearing more blood everywhere. Grimacing, he wiped his hands on his pants, ignoring the fierce little growls coming from Leo. The boy passed out again quick enough, and Emiliano took that as a good time to pick him up and take him back to bed, before he woke up and could feel them walking. If he had broken his ribs, he wouldn't appreciate being jolted around by footsteps. Thankfully, he was pretty light, and Emilio clutched the boy gently to his chest, nudging open the door to the small galley bedroom. His bed was the main centrepiece, beautiful red satin sheets and a glossy black duvet. He made sure to impress those that were lucky enough to make it to this stage. However, he didn't think he would have ever needed to knock someone out to get them here. They usually came willingly enough on their own.

Untying his wrists, Emiliano retied his little creature, once wrist to a different bar on the headboard. Emilio made sure that he wasn't spread too far apart, but just far enough so that if he struggled, he would find resistance. Fetching a damp washcloth, Emilio hovered over Leonardo, gently wiping away the sweat and blood. "Nenhum. Você está bem?" Emilio frowned at the boy's wishes to die. This was far too good a paycheck to just murder. A large bruise was already spreading on Leonardo's chest, and Emilio gently laid his hand on it. He probably had ice in the icebox, and trotted to the corner of the room with the tiny refrigerator. A small generator below powered the small electrical needs on his ship, and times like these, he was very grateful. A small bag of ice later, Emilio sat on the edge of the bed, wrapping another towel around the bag and nestling it into Leo's side. "Faminto?"

RE: behind the sea (open)

No he was not okay. Leo thought that was a stupid question, and it made him scowl. Obviously he wasn't okay. He probably needed to go to the hospital at this point, but that was an oh so perfect opportunity for him to get away. He wouldn't have minded being in this room if he wasn't feeling quite so hateful of Emilio, he shot him daggers and really rather wished they'd stab him for real. Hopefully those bites would turn septic. That'd be Leo's ideal right now. He shook his head softly at the next question. Regardless of whether he was hungry or not, he'd decided here and now that starving himself would probably be the easiest way out. Couldn't sell him if he was only skin and bone, no one would want him.

He wanted to pass out again, or he at least wanted to be in water. Even salt water would do for him right now, though it'd sting whatever wounds he had. "No eat." He spat, scowling at the older man again. His breathing was shallow again, at least if he was underneath the water he wouldn't have to use his lungs and it wouldn't hurt half so badly. His gills were tucked away behind the little set of fins on his head, more or less completely unnoticeable unless you searched for them.

Emilio heaved a soft sigh, a gentle smile appearing at his irritated expression. Now that Leo was tamed for the most part, he was kind of cute, all spread out on the bed. Emiliano assumed that this meant his chances of getting laid were little to none by now, unless he took the boy by force. That really wasn't his style, though. He preferred it when people begged for him, rather than begging for an escape. "What you want?" He had fish in the freezer, too, he wondered if Leo would consider eating if he could make it smell enough. You can't ignore the urge to eat forever, especially if there was something good in front of your nose.

"Well. You stay there and rest. I'm hungry." Pulling up a blanket over the naked boy, Emilio smacked a wet kiss on Leo's forehead with an evil grin. Turning away before he decided to lash out any further and hurt himself, Emilio rustled around in the cabin's refrigerator, finding a couple pieces of fish that he could fry. In the small kitchenette, an old gas stove sat. It connected to the bedroom, and Emilio made sure to turn a fan towards the bedroom, just to make sure Leo could smell it. Had he known what else a merman might eat, he would have made sure to make those smells appear too. However, fish seemed as good an option as any right now, and he turned the burners on, the loud smell of fish filling up both rooms very quickly.

Leo was feeling too grumpy and too stubborn right now to bend to Emilio's will. He hissed loudly at the kiss and probably would have had the man's throat out if he wasn't wearing that muzzle. "Eu não." He snapped in return to the question. He'd eat nothing, not until he was let out of this ship and until he was as far away from possible. The smell though, he'd hold his breath for as long as possible, and if he passed out and suffocated, so what? He was probably going to die by the end of this anyway. Shifting, and tugging at one of his hands, he found himself tied to the headboard, growling softly and struggling pitifully, Leo only found this hurt him more, and a long, drawn out whine emanated from his throat.

Drawing in a breath, Leo held it, and he would hold it from now until that smell was gone. He couldn't hold his breath for long, though. He didn't need to, he had gills in place of the ability to hold his breath, and right now those gills were completely useless outside of water. This wasn't fair, he wanted to choke this damn pirate and if he could have pulled away from his restraints he would have shoved his damn pretty face (and it was so pretty) into the stove to see how he liked it. Leo still held his breath, refusing to release it.

From the kitchenette, Emiliano could hear a faint whine. Taking that as a sign that he was starting to feel the effects of the fish, Emilio took care to doctor his piece of cod as nicely as he could, including onions and other various smelly spices that even made his stomach growl. He hadn't thought he had been all that hungry until now, and Emilio was more than excited to show off his meal.
The fish didn't take long to cook, and it was done sooner than he had expected. Arranging it onto a plate, Emilio picked out a plastic fork before returning to his bedroom, pleased to find that the smell had wafted out satisfyingly enough.

The merman seemed to be holding his breath, and Emilio tilted his head curiously. He knew one couldn't die from holding their breath — they'd only pass out. And if he passed out, Emilio would have no qualms about dropping freezing cold water on his bare chest to wake him back up and start the process all over again. He had never had to torture someone like this before, and he was finding some kind of pleasure in watching the boy squirm. "Famintooo?" Taking a bit of fish on his fork, Emilio waved it in front of Leo's face, hoping that he would at least eat a little bit. If he didn't eat tonight, Emilio would be forced to go out and find one of those hospital food bags that kept people alive when they were in comas. Shouldn't be too expensive for him — he had found a lovely exotic snake for a local surgeon the other week. "Vir, comer. Comer ou eu vou te beijar de novo."

Leo shook his head again, a little more vigorously this time. Nope. Another loud, catlike hiss rose up from the boy again, forcing him to revert his breath holding, and take another deep breath. His panting was echoed slightly against the muzzle. He just wanted to sleep, and maybe when he woke up again all this would be gone and he'd wake up in his little sea cave. The next sentence made the boy's eyes widen a little, his mother had told him all kinds of awful stories as a child to stop him from venturing out too far away from his family - the kinds of awful things humans would do to him if he was caught, and he was suddenly very acutely aware of his rising terror. What was this man going to do to him?

Leo dropped his head back and shut his eyes, his arms going limp in the restraints again. He didn't want to struggle anymore, but that certainly didn't mean he'd been broken. "Você é o que minha mãe me contou sobre." He murmured, his ribs ached painfully and there was an angry throbbing in the back of his head where he had been hit. He still didn't really understand the situation, what was going on? What had he done to this man? He'd been a stranger beforehand. "Stop." He squeaked, "I hurt."

Emiliano could see the fear in the merboy's body language, and he felt incredibly guilty about all these events. He had always prided himself on being a savage pirate, able to smuggle everything and anything across a border, but it was different when he had to deal with an actual human-like creature. His grin returned, and despite the connotations, Emilio automatically took it as a compliment to be the person mothers hated. Setting the fish aside, Emilio kicked off his boots, crawling up to the head of the bed. "Eu sei."

The fight had been taken out of him, and Emiliano went very quiet for a moment. He felt that touching him right now would be a little too invasive, and only held the cool icebag against Leo's side. Hopefully that would take down some of the swelling. Broken ribs usually managed to heal up by themselves, one way or another.
"Sinto muito." He sat, rubbing his stubble, staring at the far wall. Ty wondered if Leo would feel better in some kind of water, or a pool. He wouldn't be able to get him to his home until morning, but he could probably ready the fishtank for tonight if he preferred.
"Você precisa de água?"

Emiliano was too close again, Leo panicked and struggled against the restraints, he felt incredibly vulnerable and altogether very unsafe. He was completely helpless, he couldn't fight back even if he tried, and he didn't like that. He didn't trust this man, he didn't want him anywhere near him. There was something sinister about that I know, and Leo struggled again, only succeeding in hurting himself even more. That was why he started so violently at the icebag was pressed to him, squealing and shying away from it. "Away." He squeaked at Emilio, "please." There was a desperate tone in his voice, his arms were hurting and beginning to put a strain on his shoulders.

Sinto muito. Another growl. "Não, você não está." He spat, Leo didn't understand why he continued to trust humans, they only ever really brought him grief. Perhaps he should stay away from them from now on. But it didn't really look like he was going to have a choice in what he did for the rest of his life. "No." He snapped, of course he wanted water, he desperately did. But he was waiting for his man to do something else, he'd already broke him and more or less gagged him, and Leo was a little concerned that he might just go a little further. His heart was going far too quickly and there was sweat beading up on his forehead. He scowled again at the I'm sorry. Of course he wasn't sorry, he'd probably do all this again tomorrow morning and sing the same song.

Emilio frowned at Leo's resistance, he had been hoping that Leo would be quieter by now. He was more worried about Leo hurting himself right now, and frowned at the position his arms were in.
It was starting to look awfully uncomfortable, being tied up like that. But, if he decided to keep him in the fishtank, it would be absolute Hell trying to get him back out. Emilio could just about bet that Leo wouldn't come quietly once he was back in the water. If he put him in some kind of net in the water, he would chew it through. Maybe he could find a way to transport the boy back to his shop now, and he looked at one of his empty rum barrels. A merboy could fit in there for a little bit-- it would be cramped, but he could fit.

A confident grin returned, and Emilio saluted Leo. "Aye !" He'd leave, alright, he'd leave and stuff him into that barrel until he could get him into his shop. Calling one of his local henchmen, he ordered him in quick English to prepare the largest, nicest fish tank in the least amount of time. It would have to be right by the front, so everyone could see the little man he had captured. Sure, some bleeding heart liberals would try to save him, but eventually, Emilio thought he could build a "night tank" to hide Leo from any vandals that tried to take him away. His mind worked furiously, and he smiled slyly over at his new toy, and rested a hand against his chest.
"Seja cuidadoso, pouco almôndega" Bouncing off to haul the barrel out to beside the bed, thinking whether he should boil some seawater to make it warmer for the boy. "Você gosta de água quente?"
