"Well, I remember this story we had to read in school about this guy in like the 1800's--I mean my school before the academy, back in the states," Ven said, then paused, frowning and said, "I mean, I heard this story at my old school. The guy wasn't in my old school. Anyway."
Ven twirled one of the flowers around his hand.
"In the story the guy answered an ad in the newspaper for a wife and they corresponded back and forth, and he finally decided 'screw it, i'll meet with her in person, it's risky by ill do it.' And she said she was going to wear a red flower. So when he got there, the only person wearing a red flower was like this super super old woman. ANd he was disappointed, but realized it didn't matter if she was old because he felt a connection with her in those letters and even if the love wouldn't be physical love like he wanted, they could still have a love filled with friendship," Ven rambled on.
"But when he walked up to her and introduced himself, he got a tap on his shoulder and BOOM, there's this smokin' hot babe behind him and she's like 'it was a test and you passed' and they got married and shit, and it was nice, and i thought it'd be cool to wear the flowers," Ven said.
He opened his coat pocket and pulled out a brown paper bag.
Ven looked around to make sure they weren't being watched. He stuck his hand in the envelope and said, "You don't want to know what i had to do to get these imported here."
He produced a small box, which he opened.
Inside was a holographic Ho-oh Pokemon card.
"They're selling pretty high online, at least $400 in American," Ven said. "Which is why I'm being so hush-hush about it. I don't like having something so valuable on me. I'm afraid I'll lose it or someone will try to take it. So if you're interested, I'm asking for $375."
