Eli, slightly annoyed, found himself resting at one of the many empty tables, Hot tea between his hands. Somehow he had the bright idea to leave his warm bed, just to tell someone they had a wrong number. "It was past midnight!" He thought grumpily.

He was wearing the scarf like he said he was going to. Hopefully, this cleared things up quickly, then he could go back to sleep.

Ven appeared in the cafeteria slightly later. He wasn't sure how to dress for an exchange like this, so he compromised. He wore a black skullcap over his head that sent his dark hair sticking out at odd angles, which might have made him look like a cliche low-level criminal in any kind of bad cop drama. Additionally, Ven accented himself with an oversize trench coat.

He spotted his buyer at one of the few occupied tables in the cafeteria. Ven slid into the seat across from him.

"Hey," he said, sliding into the seat across from him. "You're the one?"

Eli was playing with a napkin, trying to keep his weary eyes open. Unfortunately, in his state, he left his phone behind, being focussed on getting the scarf, so he was trying to make do with what he had when the 1980s Thug sat down with him.

Looking him up and down, Eli replied. "What happened to the origami roses?"

"Oh, Yeah," Ven said. He reached his hand into his trench coat and looked around, left and right, as though he were about to pull something extremely dangerous or illegal out of it.

He produced three origami roses instead and plopped them on the table.

"It was harder to get them onto the outside of the coat than I thought," Ven said. "All the wind. I was chasing one down the street because I didn't want to litter."

He took a deep breath and said, "So how do we want to do this? Should I go first? Show you what I've got and you can tell me if you're interested? I don't like to hold onto things like this for too long."

Eli tensed when the thug reached into the coat. It could be a dangerous weapon of some sort. Between the hours and the appearance, it was completely possible.

So he was both relieved and surprised when the roses appeared. He honestly wasn't expecting them. "why did you even choose the flowers then?" Still annoyed about leaving his room, he picked up one of the roses. "These are pretty good." He remarked, putting it back down.

Did he just get dragged into something illegal? He didn't know for certain, so Eli decided to keep calm, find out what exactly is going on first. "Hmm, maybe I'll see what you have."

"Well, I remember this story we had to read in school about this guy in like the 1800's--I mean my school before the academy, back in the states," Ven said, then paused, frowning and said, "I mean, I heard this story at my old school. The guy wasn't in my old school. Anyway."

Ven twirled one of the flowers around his hand.

"In the story the guy answered an ad in the newspaper for a wife and they corresponded back and forth, and he finally decided 'screw it, i'll meet with her in person, it's risky by ill do it.' And she said she was going to wear a red flower. So when he got there, the only person wearing a red flower was like this super super old woman. ANd he was disappointed, but realized it didn't matter if she was old because he felt a connection with her in those letters and even if the love wouldn't be physical love like he wanted, they could still have a love filled with friendship," Ven rambled on.

"But when he walked up to her and introduced himself, he got a tap on his shoulder and BOOM, there's this smokin' hot babe behind him and she's like 'it was a test and you passed' and they got married and shit, and it was nice, and i thought it'd be cool to wear the flowers," Ven said.

He opened his coat pocket and pulled out a brown paper bag.

Ven looked around to make sure they weren't being watched. He stuck his hand in the envelope and said, "You don't want to know what i had to do to get these imported here."

He produced a small box, which he opened.

Inside was a holographic Ho-oh Pokemon card.

"They're selling pretty high online, at least $400 in American," Ven said. "Which is why I'm being so hush-hush about it. I don't like having something so valuable on me. I'm afraid I'll lose it or someone will try to take it. So if you're interested, I'm asking for $375."

"Oh?" Sounds like a strange story. Why would you even put an advertisement for a wife?

It was.... a piece of paper. Eli, being a former amnesiac, didn't know of the trading card game, despite having played one of the more recent games on occasion. Thus, he didn't see much value in the card. "Uh, no thanks."

He had to ask though. "What is it?"

Ven wasn't sure if he was relieved or disappointed that the other boy wasn't interested in the card. He nodded and snapped the lid shut on the box, slipped it back into the paper bag, and then back on the inside of his trench coat.

However, he did look up in surprise when they other boy asked what it is.

"It's a Pokemon card," he said. Then, he squinted and asked, "Wait. Why would you answer my add if you didn't know what it was?"

"Add?" As in advertisement? Eli had seen a few on tv and in the paper, but he had never replied to any. "What Ad?"

He took off his scarf. It was a little warm in the Cafeteria. His mind was still trying to figure out this guy. "Pokie Mon" seemed to be popular if this rectangle of paper was worth a lot. Not to mention he got his number from an Advertisement he never answered.

Taking out his phone, Eli showed him the chat log. "If I messaged you, wouldn't I have had the first message?"

Ven considered this.

He chewed on the inside of his cheek. He played with one of the origami roses on the table, rolling the stem inbetween his fingers over and over again. He chewed on the inside of his other cheek.

"Oh," he said. "So you....didn't...see my add online then?"

Ven frowned and said, "Well then wait a second, how did I get your number?"
