"Good! I want that." Sherry loved lovely people to be in her life. Logan was no exception, which only made his response more exciting. Being great friends with someone like Logan was obviously just something that needed to happen. Two innocent little teens that needed more friends. With that, she moved back to his side and only stared at this new boy. "Of course! I would love to help you get to where you need to go!" Her voice pretty much chimed like a bell. "Hmm.. I wonder if you have a roommate by chance? That would make it way better, so that you would have a tour guide kind of?" She only wondered, but she took a few steps towards the doors to the dorms. It wasn't all that close, but that would give them time to talk.

He got, he supposed, the general concept of a student council election. They were elections to fill the student council. The student council, he supposed, was a council made of students.

Beyond that? He didn't really get it. His last school hadn't had one, and the pieces were not as easy to snap together as so many people assumed.

"What exactly does... uh, the student council do?" He asked, trying not to sound too skeptical. He started to trail behind the boy--Logan, he reminded himself, lest he forget--and didn't bother to hide the fact that he was staring at the boy when Logan straight up acknowledged it.

"Oh, I'm - uh, Sam. Or Samuel. Either one." He'd never been picky about which he was called, and they honestly got used interchangeably. "And yeah. I'm from America," he explained, as if there were absolutely no things in America that weren't human.

"I'm supposed to have a roommate, but they haven't arrived yet. I was told they'd probably show up eventually. I guess they're new?"

Logan nearly stumbled when asked about the council, but kept his pace, only slowing a little to better address this. That was a very wide ranged thing to ask. He was already prepared for spending a lot of the elections chattering, so this wouldn't ruffle him much in the end. "I'll start from the basics, then. It's a group of students that represent the rest of the student's interests and work as leaders, aspiring to help the community flourish-- solving problems, suggesting unique new policies, helping put on events whatnot. They work directly with school staff and can have some real power in the way the Academy works. It's a little like junior politics. It can be really useful to practice for future jobs and make connections, if you do well and leave a good impression."

He caught his breath. Then, "Have any other questions?" and a perky smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Samuel. I've never been off island, myself. I was born here. I'll leave after college, though, since my career aspirations call for it. Pianist. The unicorn features will be hidden with glamour, have you heard about that yet? Just how much have you heard about, exactly?"

"Yeah, likely. I wouldn't be too concerned over it. We get a lot of new students shuffled in and out all the time. If your roommate doesn't show up, you can be set up with someone else pretty easily."

Thankfully, it seemed that Logan had the perfect explanation of what the student council was. Yes, she could have explained it rather well, but at that time it seemed that the new kid would most likely listen to an older-and taller- person. As they walked, Sherry only nodded to all of his statements, as if to help solidify them. "It is nice to meet you Samuel! I hope to see you around the campus and that you enjoy your time as a student here!" There was seldom a time where Sherry was down, which only made her smile wider when she was finished speaking. "I am with the Rosales family now, after they adopted me. They are very lovely people!" Of course, that wasn't entirely true, but her family was indeed lovely to her. "Hm, I'm sure that they will suit you, whoever they may be. Even then, the people in your classes and around your age will surely help you, like we are now!"

Samuel listened, nodding along as Logan explained how the student council worked. He got it... sort of. It just sounded... well, fake. His school had been in a fairly poor area, and things like extra curricular activities had been poorly funded and poorly attended. If there had been a student council (and Samuel honestly didn't know), he couldn't have imagined it did any of the things Logan had just explained. Students working directly with the staff? Practicing future jobs? It all sounded... weird.

"Uhm... mostly just about the school, I guess. The basics of where things are. The guide gave me a little speech about how the school was meant to accommodate people of all types, but we didn't really cover stuff like 'glamorous'." He genuinely wasn't clear what it was, either. Something that could hide the horn, but... how? Magic? Some kind of makeup? No, it couldn't be makeup, because makeup couldn't saw a horn off. Magic, then.

Something fluttered in his stomach at the thought of magic.

"So are there really... uh, demons? And vampires and things? The guide said it, but I wasn't sure if he was joking." He hoped he was, but considering that he was talking to a real life unicorn, he wasn't quite sure if he had any real hope on the subject.

Logan smiled at Sherry's friendliness and cheer over her new family. He could share her sentiments. He might have still been stuck with the Delacroixs, but his heart was with the Grahams, who he'd only known for a little while, but that felt warmer than his birth 'family' ever had. "I'm happy for you, Sher."

"Glamours help supernatural creatures blend into the Narrow Reality," he recited. "It's something like illusion magic, something a little stronger. It's usually enchanted into jewelry for the most convenience. Of course, it's much nicer to be in a safe haven like Manta Carlos where you don't have to hide anything in the first place-- but people still go to the human populated place, for one reason or another, and in those cases, glamour is a lifesaver."

He glanced at Sam briefly, a frown on his face for a flash of a moment. He could relate to the intimidation factors around demons and vampires, though Sherry had a family full of the former species. So, he cleared his throat. "…There are. I know it's a little scary with where you come from, but I can assure you, we have very rigid laws to make sure nobody is needlessly harmed. The majority of people here are just average citizens, no matter what their species, trying to go about their daily lives. Even with the stereotypes in the way of that."

He nodded resolutely. "If you're curious about certain beings here, and how the dangerous sounding traits are handled peacefully, I think we have pamphlets and reading material for that, too. I could write down the names of a few books for you. Otherwise, we'll keep answering questions the best we can, and teachers are really helpful too."

Of course, but it been a while since she had ran into someone who didn't think the island was normal. For her, this way of life was like second nature to her now. Sherry remembered when she had first joined the island, and thinking that everything was just a bit too weird for her. Now though, she had a family of rather eccentric people, and friends who she would never have otherwise. She took a breath, trying to take in this newfound idea that she had almost forgotten about. "I hope that you're not scared or anything. I understand how you must feel right now, having all these new things to look at it to discover and to be a part of! It's a lot to take in and I really do hope that Logan and I can hopefully fill in some gaps for you." She took second to compose herself. "I mean, it can be a bit scary to know that there's a bunch of things that could easily kill you, but most people here actually pretty nice if you're nice back to them!"

Samuel wasn't entirely clear about how much of what was said could be considered stereotypes. Was it a stereotype if it was true? Was it one if the vampires really did drink human blood? If zombies really did feast on human flesh?

It wasn't a happy thought, and Samuel pushed it away, turning his attention back to the conversation.

"Oh," he said softly, glancing between the two again. "I think... pamphlets might be nice?" He preferred that idea, little pieces of paper he could read in his spare time rather than wasting the time of other people. Reading at his own pace.

"I'll try to be nice," he added, mostly as an afterthought. "You've both been very helpful."

He remembered, for a moment, his mother's voice--telling him to be polite. He was supposed to always be polite, to give no one any reason to complain about him. That was for the best, and he'd always lived that way.

"I wouldn't want to take any more of your time."

Sherry took it in stride. Logan was relieved, for that. She'd be good for the council, if voted onto it. He wanted to help ensure that, needing all the allies he could get, rather paranoid otherwise. He'd tell her she did a good job, when they were alone again.

Now, back to Samuel. Pamphlets! Lovely. Never could have enough of those, could you? Logan clasped his hands together and nodded, with a great deal of overenthusiasm, like every teacher's pet that attempted to near-awkwardly cheer on other students and pretend they were far older than they were. At least he was trying to get some authority to back that up. Otherwise, he'd stay mostly seen as pretentious, aside from his club leaderships.

"That's great! I'll--" Logan peered ahead. The highschool dorms were coming up, just as requested. He turned, walking backwards for a moment, and laughed. "Write those up when we get there, I was going to say, but… we're here now! So." He came to a stop and dug out one of his planning notebooks from his bag, putting his box of fliers and buttons on the ground for a moment. He flipped to a blank page and started writing.

"This is a quick listing for where to find pamphlets and guidebooks, the most relevant of them for your situation, and…" He shot Samuel a look, biting his lip. "The most helpful staff members here, plus ones that are… maybe a little grumpier? Anyway, this will probably be… very useful for you, try not to lose it." Logan gave a firm nod and handed over the piece of paper, after gently removing it from the rest.

"We don't mind helping out, but I'm sure you want to go settle in now," Logan said, knowing Sherry would agree with him on the help related bit. "If we're around and there's something else you need, feel free to grab us, okay?" He smiled again. "It was really nice meeting you, Samuel, and I hope you like your new dorm room." The unicorn wiggled his fingers, ready to wave the boy off.

Even if Logan had kept right on reassuring him that it wasn't an issue, Sam felt very strongly that it was. They were supposed to be working, doing council things (whatever that entailed), and they probably didn't have time to be talking with him.

They were just being nice, he decided, even though he really did appreciate it.

"Thank you very much," Samuel spluttered, taking the offered materials. He wasn't going to lose it, definitely not, and held it tightly in his hands.

Nervous and unsure of what to do--or what even was the correct thing to do--he opted to bow instead , an awkward little bob of his head as he pushed the paper into his bag.

"Sorry, I mean - thank you," he said again, very firmly at a loss for words. "I'll try and settle in." And not bother anyone. "And it was nice to meet you both too."

Without any sort of a better send off, Samuel turned, trotting at top speed into the dorm and hoping his heart would stop racing quite so much.
