Hal didn't seem to think of the moment because he seemed to be completely unaware of what he had replied to Shinji. To him, he sounded just as he had always have ever since he moved to the island; but what Hal didn't know is that Shinji might have had an idea of where that reply could have rooted from. Hal didn't think of it, nor did he want to.

'If anything, it makes me want to keep you around more so i can see how your ability works and so I can develop a way to prevent it from happening to me', said Shinji. Hal wasn't exactly sure what to make of it. He was trying to learn Hal's ability to help him develop his own defense? For a moment, Hal's hopes went up when Shinji mentioned about seeing 'how his ability worked', but then he continued his sentence. Hal, while he would not realize it himself, felt a little disappointed.

For 'some' reason, since Shinji had mentioned having to worry about his ability getting in the way somewhat made Hal a little too sensitive than usual.

Hiding his dismay from both Shinji and himself, he said, "For the most part, I've got control over it, but I can't really guarantee that no sort of strong spikes would happen.". His voice had become different from earlier, if only slightly — it carried less warmth and comfort. One could say, his voice was distant — almost cold.

As Hal waited for a response, his gaze turned to follow Shinji's and realized then sun was beginning to set"It's this late already...?"

The conversation continued with the blunt reply that Hal had given about his control. There was nothing bad about his reply but for some reason it sounded slightly different than the rest of his replies. In Shinji's own opinion, it seemed to be filled with less emotion and with a higher intention of getting this part of the conversation over with. "Well this may seem weird but umm...I want to propose something..." Shinji said as he looked down to the ground. He thought of how he would put it without making it sound weird. There was a high doubt that Hal would accept but it was still worth a try.

Finishing his thought process Shinji began to speak. "I was thinking, because it'll benefit us both in the long run, why don't I help you with figuring out the full or at least better control of that second ability of yours?" Shinji began as he looked Hal in the face. His left eye brow was raised but the rest of his fast was blank. "Let me explain." Shinji quickly yelped before Hal could have any time to reply. "You want, or may need, to figure out the full extent of this second ability, right? And it obviously has something to do with electricity and I have a surplus of it. I believe that together we could ring it out of you. Plus it'll be doing me a favor by letting me figure out my own way to counter act something like this so it doesn't happen to me in the future, not just with you but with anything with the same effect." Shinji stopped and took a long deep breath that would aid him in his recovery from talking so much all at once.

Taking his hands from his pockets and cupping them together, Shinji glanced at the sky and then back at Hal. He waited for his new acquaintance's reply. Shinji had never reached out to someone in such a way nor has he suggested any thing like this so, to him, it was very nerve wracking. He had no idea what Hal was going to reply so he waited anxiously for what could be a disappointment as well as an embarrassment or what could be a huge success in his social development.

Hal seemed to have closed off his 'social radar' when he gave his reply but otherwise, he was still willing to listen to a conversation. He listened to Shinji as he began to speak. In his head, Hal was trying to figure out what it could have been and made random predictions in his head, but he didn't actually think that Shinji would even suggest what he was going to say.

'Why don't I help you with figuring out the full or at least better control of that second ability of yours?' Shinji proposed. Hal raised an eyebrow at this. Sure enough, Shinji didn't need to explain himself actually, but... admittedly, that was unexpected.

"Sounds good, I guess." Hal replied, refusing to look at Shinji. "I mean, yeah, I guess it'd make things easier for me than trying to figure it out on my own. I don't even have a clue about it so I don't know where to even start so I guess that's a pretty good offer." he added.

"In exchange, you get to develop your own defense against negative side-effects of your power...?"

Hal raised his brow to what shinji had proposed to him. He seemed to be slightly interested If anything. But Shinji couldn't tell if he was up for it or not. The anticipation that shinji had felt was great considering the fact that he had never done this before in his life. He never really needed to. "Sounds good, I guess" Hal finally said. This was like music to his ears as the relief that he felt was even greater than that of his previous anticipation.

"Great, but if you don't have a clue then that should be our first priority. Should be easy enough with two minds at work, right?" Shinji said as he looked back into the sky. The sky wasn't dark just yet but the Orange and red that appeared in the sky was beautiful to see at this point. Still looking above him, Shinji continued. "If it's not too much to ask, would you mind starting tomorrow or something? As of now, I would like to go to the roof and try something dangerous but help to myself." Shinjuku didn't explain exactly what it was he wanted to do because Hal may have tried to talk him out of it. Hopefully Gal was up for doing it tomorrow or sometime later.

Hal nodded to no one in particular as Shinji suggested having to figure out Hal's second ability to priority. Obviously that would be the case. While having two minds at work sounded promising, Hal felt somewhat unsure if that would really solve his problem about his ability. Hal didn't even notice how he was being pessimistic at the moment.

"Tomorrow's good. Or if you've got something else planned tomorrow too, we can start whenever both of us are free." Hal responded, pushing his glasses up; the light of the sunset reflected on the lenses for a second. While Shinji had not specified anything to what he was planning, he sure said the word 'dangerous' pretty clearly for Hal to understand.

"You know, I don't even know what you have up your sleeve for later but I'd suggest you try not to hurt yourself or something? By that I mean, 'don't even think about it'." Hal told him firmly, tucking his hands to the front pockets of his hoodie.

"Oh no, tomorrow should be perfect. I have absolutely nothing to do. I assume you are free as well. Where do you propose we meet tomorrow, and when for that matter?" Shinji replied whilerhe was ringing his hands. Soon after replying, Shinjuku realized that he used a word in his last sentence that he shouldn't have. 'Dangerous'. That probably will have given away the objective that Shinji had. It was nothing harmful to anyone but himself if he was to fail. Shinji smiled a little as he was beginning to talk. Thus was just meant to be a gesture of reassurance so that Hal doesn't think anything too bad was going to happen. "It'll be fine. No one will be hurt and nothing will get destroyed. Plus it'll be a slight gain for me and my abilities if I do this. Well, it'll be a gain if my theory is correct."

Stopping at the end off that small explanation, Shinji looked around only to see that a few new people had trafficked into the courtyard. They seemed to be the people that like being outside at night. "I mean it is a beautiful setting especially in the courtyard but I would prefer the roof rather than the court yard." Shinjuku stated within his thoughts as he continued to look around.

Hal squinted his eyes at the other Shinji, completely ignoring the new people showing up within the vicinity. He didn't really need to care about them just yet. He was really more concerned about Shinji's "experiment" or whatever. He was not going to let anyone do anything dangerous, not if he has anything to say about it. But then Shinji tried to assure him that no one would get hurt. Since when did "dangerous" and "no one will get hurt" actually mix together, he asked himself.

He couldn't trust what Shinji said but then he asked himself again, why should he care that much? It was every student for himself for the most part. If he gets himself hurt while he's training, Hal shouldn't concern himself so much about it. He let out a heavy sigh.

"Alright. Fine, I won't stop you from whatever you're planning then." he said, "But at least still be alive by tomorrow." he told Shinji, almost, just barely, slightly in jest. "I'm not exactly a morning person so how's around 10am at..." a beat, "Would you prefer here or the roof?"

"It wont get to the point where I die, Jeez." Shinji said as he face palmed. Leaving his hand on his forehead, Shinji kept on listening to what Hal was saying. "10 will be perfect. Though, I may be there before that time. I always felt it necessary to show up early so that any last minute things that I may have forgotten can be handled. But that's just me." Shinji released his hand from his head as he noticed the sky darkening faster than he could have thought possible. He had never seen such a great looking sky before, not just at dusk but at night and morning as well. "We might as well meet on the roof. It's more secluded and we will have less distractions. If that's fine with you of course."

"When was the last time I had ever seen something like this, ever?" Shinji thought as he looked back up to the sky. Shifting his weight to his left leg after moving it back behind his right, he leaned back for a better view of the sky. He would most likely continue the ending of this conversation while looking upward like this. He loved the view and figured that he would soak it all in once he gets to the roof and before he does his little 'experiment'. Maybe that one girl, Cytus, will be there again. He wondered if she would but it didn't bother him too much. he enjoyed her company.

Hal resisted to roll his eyes as Shinji said his reply. Hal always had a very messed up temper and his impatience was shifting way to quick from this whole conversation. He cour just go straight to his room afterwards, but then his roommate could be there by now. Who knows, but he'd rather not have to see people for a bit until his head is clear.

Without having to go through another monologue in his thoughts, Hal repeated. "Right then. Tomorrow at ten at the roof." he said with finality. But the look he had said otherwise. He had been watching Shinji's behavior for the whole time and he wasn't sure if the other student was uninterested, or if he was rushing to go somewhere. He did say he planned to go to the roof, though, but there wasn't any need to rush if it was a personal matter, was it?

Unable to help himself, Hal spoke again, "Are you actually paying attention?"

Still staring at the sky and all of it's beauty, Shinji was listening to what Hal had to say. It's not that he wasn't paying any attention to him since he was looking at the sky, it was more like he was taking in his fill of the beauty that amazed him with every glance that he took while talking to Hal. One could call it multitasking in a way but most would call it rude. Shinji understood how rude this probably was but he was always just so overwhelmingly attracted to the sky and the secrets that it held beyond it.

As Hal repeated the information for the both of them for when and where they would meet, Shinji only nodded his head slightly to confirm. He didn't mean for it to seem like he was uninterested, especially since he was the one to offer to meet up in the first place, but apparently to Hal he did seem that way. "Are you actually paying attention?" Hal said, showing a little irritated. Shinji looked down from the sky slowly. His eyes slowly shifting from the sky to Hal's face. Upon setting his sight on Hal, he said "Oh I heard everything. I was just looking at one of my favorite sights. Sorry for my rude behavior at this point." Shinji's face was now straight and stern. he knew that their conversation had ended and he needed to be a little more serious for his own training on the roof. He would need to be rather focused on what he was doing in order to do this.

"Well then, I guess that's it. i will see you then." Shinji said as he began to walk towards the entrance to the academy. He walked a little faster than he would usually though. Not because he was in a hurry but because he had something on his mind and he wasn't trying to let his concentration go. He turned his head to the right slightly as he walked exclaiming to Hal, "Don't be late!" Truth is, Shinji was actually excited to help Hal. He wanted to know what hid inside of him. Shinji loved exploring new things and this one would be pretty new to him since he has never encountered someone with powers other than himself.
