The garden had always been the best place to practice almost anything.
At least for Hal.
He stopped in his tracks as he reached the area with most benches and was glad to find very few people walking about. Very few and enough for people not to care at all what he would do.
Well, not that anyone would even notice what he would be doing. After all, all they'll see is him apparently asleep on a bench. For non-psychics, that's all there is to it: a random student who was sitting quietly in the garden, talking a break from everything.
He found a bench to sit at and made himself comfortable as he leaned on the backrest for support. He wouldn't want his body suddenly flopping on the ground in a public place. It would have been a better idea to have left his body in his room and wandered around but... he would rather leave it where he could see it.
He sat there for a moment, closing his eyes and focusing all of his thoughts on one thing: splitting with this physical form. It wasn't really easy even though its been at least three years. Hal breathes once before standing up, leaving his body on the bench, seemingly asleep. He opens his eyes and turns to look around to make sure he's done it right. Smiling, he thought, "41 counts, one try. Better than last time."
He leaps onto the backrest of the bench his body sat, his astral tail flicking after. Hal hopped around the benches effortlessly, walking on the backrests as if he was on a tightrope. An easy balancing act for his lightweight form. It took him a few weeks to get used to the lightness and be able to finally estimate how his leaps could take him but now, that part was done. Now was controlling how he could control staying still in his physical form and also creating his astral form.
