Character being adapted: Phoenix Jamston
Link to original character application: [link]
Name: Phoenix "Torch" Jamston
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Profession: Soldier (defense and pyrotechnical)
Height: 5'6
Build: Muscular, due to his years of fighting and defense
Notable Features: Obvious burn scars across hands and arms, many small cuts around his knuckles. Always carries a lighter. In this AU, Nix never did bother (or just plain couldn't find) the vibrant red hair dye he wears regularly, so his hair is still its original dirty blond, toning down his appearance by a lot. His default outfit in this AU is a simple long-sleeved green shirt (usually covered by a black hoodie) and thick-woven jeans.
What would other characters know about you? Nix, or rather Torch, earned his nickname for his pyrotechnical tendencies - even before the world went to shit, he was interested in fire, and was constantly setting things on fire, whether purposefully or by accident. As a result, he's the guy you go to if you need to know most anything about fire. His fire affinity only increased with the cave-in, so much so that he had to hide his affinity or put it to use when he emerged into the end of the world. He's also one of the better defensemen in the town, thanks to his protective, even possessive, tendencies. Lastly, although the topic should by no means be brought up against him, he was a former Fire Eater, but quit once a member hurt his sister, making him realize effectively that the Fire Eaters were dangerous to the pair, which led him and his sister to run away, getting trapped int he cave-in as a result.
For Contest Entries Only:Paralleling SA Nix's venture into the cave, Torch trapped himself in a cave-in to avoid being captured during a raid on his family, but couldn't manage to get out for a whole year. While inside the cave-in, he faced many powerful and unpredictable foes, to the point where Nix takes on a very stubborn stand to not trust just anyone he comes across. There is, however, a weak spot for young women, like his sister, and another certain Fire Eater he remembers.... While Regular Nix learned to solve problems by talking, negotiating, and trying to keep the peace, the enemies Torch encountered in the cave-in were much worse than those of the original cave, forcing Torch to shroud that part of him and take on a less-chatty persona, ultimately making him a more imposing figure. The chatty part isn't gone - he shows this side to those whom he is closest with - but it is extremely diluted. Due to his experiences, he is also a trained veteran of Kicking Sleaze Ass, especially if the hurt is being done to someone he knows - he sees it as a sign of cowardice to not offer his help to them, and so fights in their name. Lastly, as a former Fire Eater that ran away, he distrusts any current member of the Fire Eaters (including his parents) and shuns them, outright refusing to help unless they have proved that they are not sympathetic to the Fire Eater's cause, despite his own upbringing. Things like alcohol, drugs, and weapons will put him on high alert/suspicion.
