Virgins wanted. Inquire within.

The sign was written on white paper in bold green letters, fresh ink still dripping down the page. It had been hammered into the front of the darkly-stained door that marked the Aqua Reginae with a single, shiny nail, and was quite glaring next to the otherwise dim and old-looking place.

What did it mean? Only Bell knew that. She sat eagerly at her desk inside, stirring some sort of blue fluid in a glass container and humming to herself impatiently.

The Underground, as it was colloquially referred to, was quick to ascend the ranks on Orion's priority list of places to investigate. From every whisper and rumor he had heard about it, the Underground was a place that catered to a very specific kind of clientele. The kind that used magic. That was what caught Orion's attention. Magic was a fascinating field and one he sought to understand in detail.

Because what was magic but a science that was not fully explored and understood? Surely in the olden days, there were frightened villagers that called the light bulb sorcery and the mechanical movement of a steam engine witchcraft. What was poorly understood was always chalked up to magic or gods. Orion was of the mindset that anything could be studied and researched thoroughly so as to become a science, with hard evidence and provable results. Some said it made the world more boring. He believed it made it more exciting. What was fully understood could be controlled and manipulated, and made to conform to the whims of Man. That was the true end goal.

His journey of discovery started well enough, or as well as the excitable young man could muster. Many magical and non-magical folks were scared off by his brazen acts of questioning and inquiry, fearlessly demanding that they explain how a wand worked or why wizards had beards.

The first thing to not immediately run away from his questioning was a door with a very taciturn request on it. Virgins wanted. That was an odd request. One that he personally could not answer to, but the possibilities that stemmed from it tickled his curiosity. Perhaps the person wanted sacrifices for a volcano or Jason Voorhees bait.

So without even knocking, he burst into Aqua Reginae and ran right up to the first desk that caught his eye and leaned over to look at the curvy young woman behind it.

"Hi! I'm Orion! You have an interesting door! Explain it!"

Perfect. Bell sat up excitedly and gave the young man a grin, extending her free hand for a handshake. “Hey! I’m Bell. My door, eh? Well, I’m glad you asked.” He pushed her flask towards him. “I’ll tell you all about it if you drink this.”

She was hoping it was some sort of hallucinogen, but she wasn't sure yet. In any case, she didn't feel like testing it out herself.

Orion was just about ready to throw back the flask of unknown liquid when Bell just casually asked him to drink it. He had picked it up and was just about to tip it back when he stopped and squinted at it, mildly suspicious about drinking something he did not know what it was. The young man seemed caught in a dilemma. He wanted to know more about what the sign was referring to, but he was also sure that drinking random things was a bad idea.

"Hold on just a minute..."

The metal gauntlet on his arm beeped to life and the computer screen flickered with unknown text. Then, very cautiously, he dipped his finger into the liquid and swirled it around while he read the read out on his wrist.

"Hm.... Amphibian extracts... Berry juice... Water... Trace amounts of unknown... Pollen(?)... Alright."

Seemingly okay after knowing that the drink contained... things, he swigged back the concoction and slammed the flask back onto the desk with a smile.

"Now what did I just drink, honey?"

“Alright, got it — Ooooh.” Bell leaned forward when the mysterious computer thing turned on. “You gotta get me one of those things.” She would love to be able to identify things like that, although if it couldn’t recognize them with more specificity it might be a bit of a problem.

She waited for him to finish drinking before she smiled. “Pixie dust. It was pixie dust, that last one. Really lends that magical tang to a concoction. Good for binding things together, particularly ones that don’t want to be bound.”

She grinned. “Anyways, I’m hoping it’s a cheaper hallucinogen than what I’ve got in my smoke bombs right now, and a bit more reliable. Should slow the mind a little bit as well. With any luck your mind should start going funny any second now – right, are you a virgin or are just out here for the heck of it?”

"I'll get you one once my ship lets me have more than one out at... a... time..."

Whatever the drink was, it acted quickly. Right in the middle of Orion's reply about his metal glove, he seized up and stared intensely at Bell. Not angrily. More like he was trying very hard to not look at anything other than her, or avoiding all eye contact with something behind him. The only thing that moved on him for a moment was his eyes, which were struggling to look anywhere else.

After a moment, he nodded at her clarification of Pixie Dust. He carefully raised his hand and waved it in front of his face, slowly. Following his hand, he seemed to relax and continued nodding.

"Color trails. A fairly... standard symptom of a hallucinogen..."

He lowered his hand and generally looked about the room. It would seem that even though he was being affected by the drink, he still had the presence of mind and coherency to know what was going on.

"Visual static. Everything looks slightly wobbly despite it not moving... It seems your mix works.... But nah. I ain't a virgin. Does it matter? Do you need proof?"

A ship that interacted with him? A technological ship, then. A naïve young man, crazy new gadgets… “It’s a spaceship, isn’t it?!” She grinned. Oh, this was gold. This was gold. “Man, I’m so jealous…”

She watched with unbridled fascination at his response. Such a fast reaction. Was it her concoction, or his body? “Well, thanks for telling me, I’ll definitely keep that in mind.”

“Really? I’m kind of surprised.” Bell laughed lightly. With how innocent this guy seemed, it was hard to imagine him getting any – but she supposed some people liked that sort of thing. She stood up. “No, I don’t need proof. But you know what – I think I could use you anyways. Come here, could you?“ She gestured for him to come into the back of the shop. “Try not to hurt yourself.”

"Oh yes. It's a spacey ship. Woah, it's like my brain is getting bad reception."

It was a good thing that Orion was facing away from Bell, experiencing the majesty of her door as it weebled and wobbled and threatened to fall over despite being bolted in place. The surprise in her voice was heard clearly when he mentioned not being a virgin. Oh, she had no idea. To a succubus no less. Then again, that same demon girl knew of a side of Orion that no one else was privy to, yet.

Spinning in place a few times, Orion wrapped himself a colorful tornado to keep up the act of the innocent but weird space man. Though, if he was honest, the feeling from the all the colors was actually really... trippy, for lack of a better word.

"Aww... You don't want proof? Sad face."

He kept up twirling but followed Bell anyway, like an absent-minded ballerina.

"Oh! I almost forgot! I'm here to investigate this so-called magic folks 'round these parts partake in. If you could explain yourself while experimenting on me, that would be dandy."

A real live alien in her shop! And a humanoid type, too! That meant their blood might well be compatible – ohhh, it gave her the shivers. He was a real sweet kid, though, and she couldn’t help but wonder how well he’d manage, all drugged up like this. It was interesting – Orion was nearly a man on the outside, but if she were to guess his age just by his behaviour, she would have said ten at highest. “Yeah, ‘bad reception’ should be about right. Can’t wait to put this to some wider use.” She grinned.

“Well, now you’ve got me curious. What kind of proof you talking?” Bell was just waiting for something terribly innocent to pop out of this kid’s mouth. For all she knew, ‘losing virginity’ was something he thought he’d done the first time he’d touched a girl’s hand.

Her expression soured a bit at his next comment as she began to unlock the door at the back of the shop. “I, uh, I’m not so good at magic myself. But I know how a lot of it works.”

With a click, it opened, revealing a long, narrow hallway with doors on all sides – this part of the shop was newer, cleaner, and neater, almost like a different place altogether. “I’m a potion brewer, so that’s what I can talk about best – today I was hoping to bring myself another step closer to the Aqua Reginae. It’s a healing potion. Takes blood of virgin, both genders.”

She led him into another room. Though small, it had a powerful appearance to it, white-walled and floored. There was a lab bench in it with a big sink and a microscope – next to it, there was a windowed cabinet full of flasks and test tubes. “Alright, pal, sit right there.” She indicated a small black chair in the corner, then reached into her drawer for a syringe. “I figure if you’re not from this planet, though, I’ll be able to find something interesting in your blood, virgin or not. Hold still, could you?” She approached him with her needle at the ready.

"Proof. Proof. Proof. Proof. Prooooooooooof. Do I have that?"

The question finally got Orion to stop spinning, right in the middle of the long door-lined corridor. Hand gravitating to his chin, he tried parsing out something that could be used as evidence of his non-virginity. Unfortunately, he lacked any kind of core anatomical sign like females did. His eyes lit up when he finally got an idea. Immediately, he tapped away at his wrist computer excitedly. Granted, the typing was probably really cool looking given his hallucinating state.

"Hopefully I get reception in here..."

A fist pump was had when he did have reception to ship and he was able to access its databanks AND the surveillance footage it captured. The ship had managed to catch him and Fleur on the pilot's seat, and he was just about ready to show it off. He kept it on pause until he found the right time to show the proof.

For the time being, he had more important matters to attend to than showing off how not-a-virgin he was. Matters such as sitting in a chair and waiting to get his blood drawn and listening to Bell.

"I dunno, Bell. My blood might not be as interesting as you think. Unlike this... Aqua Regalia thing you're trying to make. Tell me, why does it require the blood of a both virgins? That seems needlessly esoteric."
