It was cold and wet. Her feet pattered in the mud as she ran. They made her almost glide over the surface, like some figure skater. She was fast and agile. Claire rarely ever fell, or missed an opportunity to vault and push off of trees, rocks and anything else she could get a good footing on. She panted softly as she pushed herself further. It was storming out, the black sky booming over her. Not that this fact mattered to her, but she wanted to get home. Storms were her favorite type of weather, as they offered so much to look at. On a different day, Claire would have climbed up into a tree to watch it all, but today; she felt like she was being watched. Not only felt, but had seen something lingering behind her, waiting for the right moment to strike. It was stalking her, and she hated it. As her eyes peered around, she knew that she wasn't going to make it in time. Closing her eyes for a few short moments, she tried to summon any animal that was even remotely close to her. She waited. Nothing. Fuck.
Claire, being the brave little spark plug she was stopped in her tracks. With a few huffs, she calmed herself down, as there was nothing to be afraid of. It was most likely just some creep wanting her. With a few seconds for her to compose her muddy and somewhat tired body, she unsheathed her knife. Her eyes darted right and left to ensure that this thing wasn't already too close. "Come and get me, stop hiding like some asshole!" She shivered as the rain drenched her. The knife was in the proper holding position, as well as it lingered around her chest area. Claire was ready. If this was going to be the wolf girl's last stand, it would be a memorable one.
