"The meat you need." Was all that Attel said as he walked in behind the Wendigo, checking him out closely to make sure that he wasn't going to try anything. His eyes flashed over Claire every few seconds. He was overprotective and it was obvious. "She's not coming so you don't try to eat her, thinking she's a part of your meal." He wanted to make that clear, but it seemed that he was half listening.

Claire chuckled as the beast tried to find the knife, like it was some huge challenge. She waited though, ever so patiently for him to give it back. When the knife was in her hands, she stepped back a good 10 feet from the thing. It wasn't pleasant to be around someone that had just hurt you. "Shut up and stop worrying about it." She shooed him away too, as a groaning sigh came out of her. "It's like you shot me and then asked me to make sure I don't bleed to death." Claire huffed out as she sheathed her knife back. "I can take care of myself asshole." She moved back even more, an unappealing gaze on the Wendigo crossed her tired and worried face.

"And no, like I would let you get near me." Her gaze went on Attel. It sounded terrible, like a really bad plague that was going to ruin her entire body; but Claire would never seek out his help. That would just be inviting him in for another taste test. "Go with him. If you are still alive by the time I see you again, then maybe I'll allow you to watch me go through the pain you caused me." She spat at the ground, mostly because she felt a big sick in her stomach. It wasn't as if she trusted anyone except Attel, so the chances of this animal getting close to her was unlikely. She wouldn't allow him to stop her, as right after she was done her line, she sprinted out into the forest; gone into the rainy darkness in a matter of seconds.

After Claire was gone, Attel turned his walking to the left, slowly padding along as if feeding a hungry Wendigo was a slow process. "If you want your next meal then come, you murderer." The wolf was just glad that the little mini him was out of harm's way for now. "You will not talk about this with anyone else, or I will have your head too." During their walk to the location, Attel and Claire had mental conversations, as she had only stayed enough away to talk until the wolf had finally shooed her off.

This was the time that he was supposed to kill him. Attel was supposed to get rid of him, as Claire had instructed. She didn't want him alive, as of course, having someone that had tried to kill her roaming around the island didn't seem like the best option for anyone. Even through the commands of his only true ally, he couldn't. Attel understood the beast, and even though Claire had been hurt, he hoped that the food he had offered him would be enough for him to be reasonable for a while. Attel saw a lot of this Wendigo in Claire; more so in areas that Claire would never agree with him on.

Once they had exited from Attel's secret location, he kept silent, not wanting to interrupt the silence that was very much needed. Though, it didn't take long until he heard Claire's thoughts in his head. "It's set in for her." He nodded, unsure if the beast actually really cared about Claire at all. "It's up to you if you want to actually help her, I mean it would be much appreciated." Attel knew a lot of knowledge about Wendigos, but he wasn't an expert like this one was.

"I was supposed to kill you back there." He said after another pause of silence. "Claire wanted that, she wanted you to never exist." He wasn't going to go into the details, but it was mostly because the animal made her look weak and defenseless, which was something Claire couldn't deal with at all. "But I didn't see the reason to. Even though you eat people and destroy everything in your path, you showed Claire something that she hasn't seen in a long time." The fact that someone had truly challenged her was sickly a good enough reason to keep him alive and breathing.

When they returned to their hideout, the rain had made it more gray than normal. The rocks that Attel perched up on were soaked in water, but that was beside the point. Carved into a large rock formation, there was a den. Even now, over the roaring thunder that devoured many other sounds, he could hear Claire. She wasn't screaming in pain, though it hurt like a mother, it was mostly her yelling out for Attel as she really wanted something to comfort. Through all her pains, Attel was the only thing that could calm her down. The wolf patted into the dry area, shaking off for a second before he curled up behind Claire. A wince came out before she half turned and buried her face in his fur. That stopped though, as Attel said in her mind the unfortunate news. "He's still alive...." The pain was the only thing that kept her from seriously hurting Attel.

Wesley wanted to deny that he would do such a thing, but he knew he would. Attel's clear disdain didn't make any of this better. Wess could only watch Claire blankly as she spoke. He tuned out most of her insults. Wesley didn't spend much time near people anymore, but he was starting to think he didn't like them. There was something about being called names like a monster when he was only trying to help that put a damper on his mood. Even when he knew, he deserved it.

More insults. Murderer, monster, what else would they come up with? For the most part, despite Wess' intense hunger, he didn't mind the slow travel to Attel's secret location. Which, as it turned out, was a wolf cave with semi-living people inside. Ah, Wesley knew this tactic well. He only hesitated a little before he gorged himself. The wolf obviously didn't know much about Wendigos, or he'd have realized how much and for how long Wesley could eat. They weren't like normal animals; they were never sated.

Exiting the cavern, Wess' body was covered in gore and still, his stomach burned with the need for meat. He ran his claws through his hair as he and Attel walked. The silence was sweet. It gave Wesley a chance to think and an opportunity to calm down. The Wendigo had always liked silence more than talking. Even when he had been human, he'd preferred quiet company.

Wess would have been fine with not saying a thing, to just finding Claire and helping her and leaving. Then, Attel mentioned the killing. The wolf was supposed to kill him? Now, Wess was not a dominant soul, nor would he consider himself particularly violent, but that rubbed him the wrong way, and it pulled the animal out in him. He glowered at Attel, a warning stare and bared his teeth silently as if to dare the wolf to try it. He didn't say a word. Instead, Wesley let his actions speak for themselves.

Back at Attel and Claire's base, Wess was silent as he stepped inside and shook himself off. His hand was notably still wet from the rain outside, which was vicious by now. A mixture of freezing rain and cutting wind that howled like a pack of wolves. The Wendigo ignored anything Claire said because he had a job to do and he had to focus on that right now. He had to help her and leave before he did something they would all regret.

First thing was first, Wess set his cold hand on her forehead to help with the heat of the fever. He watched Attel as he spoke. Stiffer than before, more in control, tired. Wess was so weary of all of this. He'd tried so hard to be a good person, to stay away from everyone, and still he was a monster. Still, he was a murderer. No one would help him and no one could. No one wanted him around, and while Wesley agreed to that, people still found him. Maybe he should have moved farther into the forest. Somewhere no one could ever find him.

Wesley looked at Attel. "She's going to start hallucinating soon and burning. Nightmares. Most of it lasts a week, but the hallucinations will only remain for tonight. There isn't much I can do, but keep her fever down with the rain."

Claire couldn't believe it. When he Wendigo came into her home, it wasn't what she wanted at all. He weary and already aching body was tight up against the wolf, as if to try to keep as far away as she could from him. There was something different though, as she scanned him over, he was bloody and a mess. It should have been Attel that was red, with the blood of him all over the fur that she loved so much. This was not that, this was a beast that had hurt her and was now... Calming her?

The minute his hand touched her forehead, her body calmed down at but. It was as if all her anticipation and drive to kill went down. Claire kept her eyes on the beast, swearing and insulting Attel in his mind. He only laughed at her like it was all a big joke. In the dim lighting, you could make out the pinkness of her cheeks, which she would admit to it being only from her fever and nothing else.

After a while, she started to feel the things that were supposed to happen. She felt the burning feeling all over her leg side, which only made her shut her eyes, as if that would stop it. Claire didn't want to show how weak as could really be, so she kept her pain on the inside of her as best as she could.

"I can take care of her if you want me to. You can go, you've done enough." When her eyes opened, all she saw was the first guy she had kissed. He was disfigured and bloody, only similing at her. She winced and grabbed onto Attel tighter. Another blink was the second guy she had kissed, which made her feel sick to her stomach. Her foot went out in front of her and she desperately kicked him away. Another blink and it was the one that she let get away. It made her want to cry as her heart was burning; maybe that was just her wounds. The last time was the worst, as the man that had ruined her life was before her. She screamed and pushed away, getting up and running into the corner of the den. Her whole body shivered and ached as she forced herself not to cry.

Attel looked at the Wendigo and sigh heavily as he stood and shook off again. "Looks like the hallucinations have set in." His tone sounded like it wasn't a big deal at all. As he started to walk towards her, the second he got close enough, Claire whirled around and stabbed him in his paw. The wolf growled and jumped back, keeping his paw up. "Ugh." He only glared at his paw. Claire was seeing him as pure darkness, which didn't go away no matter how many times she tried. She hated this so much, though when her gaze focused on Wess, there was only him now. To her, the beast wasn't scary at all. The wolf girl sniffed and held her knees up with the blooded knife in her hand.

The Wendigo Fever was a method of hunting. A good way to tire a victim out, have them unable to fight back with any skill. Wess rarely used it like that, because the idea of planning for his food made the human part of him sick.

Wesley gave Claire her space as she witnessed the horrors of her past. He stayed at the edge of the den to ensure she didn't run off out into the rain and the cold of the night. "It's fine. I'll stay. Just keep my distance. You should probably just talk to her from a distance. That usually helps."

When Claire stared right at him, Wess stopped breathing and remained still as a statue. He hunched some, not wanting to appear so foreboding. Only his back was illuminated by the occasional crack of lightening and thunder. He should have gone. Wess should have ran as fast and far as he could from these people. They threatened him and were near his territory. Now they were weak. So fragile and how easy it would have been to kill them. Consume them. But he didn't.

"Are you okay?"

When he asked her how she was, her head span, which made her almost curl up into a ball as he held her head. It was painful and she hated it a lot. Though, now that she looked at him, the weather outside showing his silhouette, he didn't look threatening. "Of course I'm not." That was a stupid question to ask, considering that he had caused all this. Her hand went onto her left side, coming back red and bloody. "Its still bleeding." Her shoulder felt like it wasn't even there as she rolled it forwards.

Claire wondered why he was still in her presence, as she assumed that after getting his meal, he would sulk off and leave forever. She also thought that her willingness to kill him would have made him have after reason to go, but it seemed not so. "Are you usually so friendly to people you hurt?" She stood, though her vision was blurry and she refused to look at Attel, who was still only darkness. "I mean it's cute of you to stay for me dude, but you have no reason to care if I live or die. I gave my wolf the intentions to kill you; though it seemed that he was a big pussy." With her right side, she tied her hair up into a bun, as every time it got in her wound it stinged badly. The girl had the put her hand on the side of the dug in rock formation in order to not fall over. She hated this, she hated being weak. A few seconds afterwards, Claire sighed, as her eyes were on the Wendigo. "Does my harmer have a name?"

"I'm an animal," Wesley said by way of explanation. "Of course, you tried to kill me; I tried to kill you. These things aren't emotional or personal for me, they just are. And yes, if I come to, I help the people I have hurt." Wess didn't believe he had to say it, but there was still a human part of him, and he fought for that side of his personality every second of his life.

"You really shouldn't be standing." But he didn't step near her because he knew she wouldn't appreciate that and it was better for him to keep his distance. "My name is Wess, but most people on the outside just call me the Wendigo. Both are fine. You won't have to worry about me staying long. It's better if I don't. You should really sleep, though. If you can. That usually helps."
