The Alternative Arts club is a fresh new group, that's about embracing, exploring and implementing all styles and forms of art, from body and street art to oil painting and sculpting. This club is all about not discriminating against any form of art, no matter how mainstream or unpopular it is, and you can express yourself within the limits of common decency(we all want to feel comfortable and have fun here, after all).
Founded and led by an aspiring tattoo and a long-time pencil and street artist Thabisa Imka Alternative Arts accepts anyone and anything that wants a safe, non-judgmental environment to realize their style and potential as an artist. The club will do its best to provide the members with all the tools they need to express themselves.
The club also occasionally works in collaboration with the city and various businesses to provide street artists with public walls to put their art on.
Occasionally the club will put up art shows or even performances on both school grounds and public areas, showcasing the talent and different art styles the members have. The goal of this is to spread the awareness of less know styles and the vastness of the world of art, and give the possible aspiring artists chances to get their work out there and noticed.
