Eliana, upon seeing he was going in for a kiss, met him halfway.

When he had broken away, she smiled lightly, her frustration forgotten.

"Then after dinner, we'll have to get you packed. At the latest we'll want to leave by tomorrow."

With that, she opened the door to head for the restaurant. She had reserved a back, dimly lit table for them.

The place was semi-fancy, but it didn't have chandeliers on the ceiling or anything. The booths were made of comfortable red leather, and a candle was on each table. The entire place smelled of garlic, as Italian places generally did.

Their's was set with a basket of fresh breadsticks and two menus.

He'd nod, "Sounds like a plan to me dear, now let's get to dinner first, and enjoy ourselves."

With that he'd exit the car and join her to the restaurant, threading an arm around her waist and placing his hand on her hips.

Stepping in he admired the atmosphere for a second, taking a deep breath, "Molto bene."He'd say with a deep exhale, he loved food, the smells and flavors, he loved eating at restaurants.

After taking their seats he'd slowly glance through the menu, leaving it on the table so he had full view of Eli.

Eliana sat across from him, but close enough that they could have reached out and touched one and other.

The seat was a half circle, a little alcove from view.

She lifted her menu partially and studied it.

A waitress arrived, speaking in a heavy Italian accent.

"What drinks would you like to order?" she asked, looking between both Eli and Mal.

Eli's response was to look at Malvoes. It seemed she would let take control of the date if he so wished.

He'd take the hint from ELi, dipping through his mind to see if he could recall any of her favorite drinks, so far he had orange juice and white wine from their previous date. "I'll take a glass of water for now, and a bottle of white wine for the table. And you dear?"

Mal would turn to Eli with that question, he honestly no idea what her preference of drink was so ordering for her was a bit difficult.

Eliana flashed a dazzling smile to the waitress.

"Water for me, too," she said.

The waitress jotted this all down. "I take it you both need a little more time to order?"

"Yes," Eli said, then turned her attention back to Mal as the waitress departed.

"You spoke some Italian earlier. Do you speak it fluently?"

Eli leaned closer toward him, her hands keeping her head up via her chin. She almost seemed to look through him.

He'd laugh a bit, "No, I'm only an English speaker, but I have odds and ends of other languages stuck in my head from what I've heard, phrases mostly. But if I were so inclined to learn a language, I could easily, I've got a bit of a photographic memory."

He'd meet her gaze, it was piercing but he could handle it easily, whatever she saw in him she was going to see it, why not bear it all open. He'd smile at her, adoringly looking at hers, leaning closer himself.

"I know," she said when he mentioned he had a photographic memory. "I know about all of your abilities."

She held up a hand. "That's one of my powers."

Eliana smiled, there was surprisingly nothing cocky about it. "I know how to speak Irish and Latin. Never bothered with anything else."

Eli then motioned to his menu. "Do you know what you want?"

At the mention of that ability, knowing other people's abilities a flash of fear went through his face, he quickly replaced it with his usual smile though. He didn't like people knowing about his abilities at leas the true nature of them, it stripped him of all of his power, it was a slippery slope he was nearly invincible one moment and the next he was an average human.

"That's pretty cool." He'd say, clearing his throat, it was directed to the power and to the languages.

He'd glance down and look through the menu once more, "Yeah, I think I'll get the pesto tortellini dish, how about you my dear?"

Eliana was momentarily confused by the brief flash of worry on his face. That was probably the ability of hers people needed to fear the least.

When he asked her what she wanted, she didn't say anything. She stared at him, bemused and tried to solve him.

The waitress returned a minute into this staring, and when she did, Eliana didn't look at her, but she addressed her.

"He'll take the pesto tortellini dish and I'll have the fennel parmesan."

The waitress reaffirmed this before setting their drinks down and offering Mal the wine to test.

He'd taste the wine, it was a fine brand crisp flavor hint of cherry, he'd give the waitress a smile, "That's great, thank you very much." He'd hand her his own menu after she poured them each a glass and left the bottle there for them.

He'd raise his eyebrows to Eli, she was looking at him like he was an enigma, "Something wrong my love? You seem to be in deep thought."
