Tril slowly blinked at the exceptionally loud belch. Then quietly snickered in amusement. "I think that was as close to exploding you might get." They shook their gargoyle head and slowly clambered out of the seat as well.

"If you say so. Not sure I want to carry you back to the school. We should go though. You probably have to do the dumb sleeping thing" They shrugged and made sure the bill was paid before ushering Katie out with their big shovel-like hands.

Katie didn't answer Tril's question, instead she just let out a yawn and nodded. It was time to start heading back towards the dorms, and she had a feeling she could use a long nap after those pancakes.

Katie let Tril guide her out of the restaurant, though she was a little disappointed Tril had shot down her idea of Tril carrying her to the school before she'd even had a chance to ask it. "Tonight was fun! And wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than doing homework." Katie said with a grin once they were outside.

Tril clapped a big hand on the girl's back again, as softly as they could manage. "Yes, better than homework. Even if you were scared a little." They whispered as they started to walk. Tril opting to shift back to mirror Katie's appearance once more.

"You should be like me and do things like this more. Much better to do things than to read about them."

Katie giggled as Tril shifted back to a mirror image of them. It seemed like things were ending in almost the same way that they had began. Albeit, Katie now knew Tril wasn't actually her clone or something.

And even if she didn't get all her homework done, the fact that she'd made a new friend made it all worth it the end. "We should definitely do this again sometime! And you can show me more fun places."
