Tril maybe should have been doing homework. Or studying. Or maybe even just playing video games or watching tv like any of the other students currently buzzing around the lounge.

Instead they were sneakily drifting around as water vapor in the air. Hunting for... something fun to do really. Finally they settled their focus on a girl in the corner. Who apparently must have been doing something school-related because she was quietly working away with her books open.

With an internal grin of expectant delight Tril silently condensed out of the air to sit next to the girl. Copying her appearance entirely. It was all Tril could do to hold off on snickering while they waited for the girl to notice the sudden appearance of a twin. Or a mirror. Or maybe an evil version of them from another dimension. So many options to choose from.

Katie was minding her own business, trying to work on homework. Key word: Trying. In reality, she was bored out of her mind, and desperate for something, anything else to do. Yet homework was a necessary evil, so she soldiered on.

At least she did, until she heard a noise come from beside her. Turning to look at whoever it was, she found herself face to face with.. herself. Or at least, someone who looked identical to her. Needless to say, this caused her to let out a small yell of shock, and nearly fall backwards as she looked upon this new stranger.

"Umm, hello. You're... me?" she questioned, clearly unsure of how to react to this situation.

It was a perfectly executed plan, with a perfectly achieved result. Tril snickered quietly to themself and then decided to see how far this could go. They watched the girl's mannerisms carefully and began to try imitating them as best they could. "No, silly," they whispered conspiratorily, "im the other you. The one who gets to do all the fun stuff and never ever read dumb books or waste time with homework."

Tril smiled with Katie's face and stood up from the table. "Have you ever seen what things look like from the top of the roof here? Come have fun with me."

"The other me?" Katie whispered back, as if confirming the statement to herself. "So, you're like... my clone." She tried her best to cover a squeal of excitement. After all, she'd never had a clone before. She had a lot of questions she would need to ask them.

But first things first, this other "Katie" got to do all the fun stuff while she was stuck in here? Well that didn't seem fair at all, why should they be allowed to have all the fun, finally she gathered her things and nodded towards the clone before saying "Alright, let's go!" She said, before pausing for a moment. Only to then turn towards the clone, a look of confusion on her face.

"Umm, how do we get there?"

Tril grinned as the ploy seemed to be working. Even better than the trick was the simple fact that they had someone to keep them company for at least the time being. Considering the consequences of their misdirections wasn't, however, a thing they were thinking about.

Tril-katie nodded back and then offered the girl a hand to lead her out of the room. Ignoring any random stares they were getting. "I know the way. Actually the roof on the rest of the school is better- it has towers and everything. And the best part is they don't lock all the doors so I can get up there all the time." Actual, genuine excitement peeked through their mischievous facade, though they'd never admit it. "The back stairs are the best. They go almost all the way up," Tril whispered as they hurried towards the main buildings of the school.

Katie took "Katies" hand, feeling that she could trust her. After all, this was her clone, certainly her clone wouldn't try to hurt her, right? No, of course not. Sure this Katie might be a little more troublesome then she was, but Katie figured she'd be the same way of she didn't have to deal with homework, and what not.

Suddenly, she found herself being dragged through towards one of the main buildings. Everything happened so quickly that Katie barely had a chance to register what was going on.
"Hey, slow down!" she called, desperately trying to keep up.

Tril was perhaps a little overeager to follow through with their slapdash plan. Probably because they expected something or someone to foil it at any moment. A student with weird magic sight or a teacher noticing the fishy behavior. Heck, even one of the gross gods making a simple appearance at all nearby could ruin everything.

It was then though that the girl cried out for relief from the running. Right. Human. Oops. They slowed down to an easy walk and reluctantly let go of Katie's hand. "Sorry, I was excited to show you to the fun stuff. I forgot you don't get to do this all the time," they whispered back with what they felt was a solidly mediocre cover story. "Do we need to sit down? I think all the books and homework are making you slower. More running and having fun is better for you."

Katie took a moment to catch her breath. She had always thought that she had a lot of energy but geez. Maybe it was true, and her homework and books really did slow her down. She looked around for somewhere to put her stuff down. Yet try as she might, she couldn't find anywhere to put it

Eventually she looked at "Katie" before speaking. "Do you think we could walk there?" she asked, looking at "Katie" before continuing "Don't get me wrong, it's just a little hard to keep up with you." she asked, while looking around, not quite sure of where she was. "Now, where were we going again?"

Oh it was so tempting to suggest leaving the books somewhere, but Tril gauged that it would risk ruining the opportunity so they didn't press the issue. Instead they hopped up onto a low wall on the side of the path to stand on the edge while Katie composed herself.

"I guess we can walk. It would be boring if you didnt make it there and I had to be all alone," they reluctantly whispered as they slowly walked along the wall, placing one foot in front of the other.

Then they pointed up to the tower of a nearby academic building. "Up there to the top. You can see a lot from up there." They kept whispering like everything was some little secret meant just for the two of them.

Katie followed "Katies" finger, eventually spotting the tower they were pointing at. It looked pretty tall, and Katie wasn't quite sure how she was supposed to get up there. Still if "Katie" said it could be done, then it had to be possible. After all, it wasn't like her clone would be able to fly, or so she reasoned.

"Right, I'm ready, lets go!" she whispered back. "I can't wait to see what's up there!" and with that, she set off towards the tower, eager to see what was at the top. She paused for a moment to turn back to "Katie" before gesturing for her to come on. "Hurry up!" she called back.
