Valentine only texted Jack by the time she was just arriving to some unassuming nightclub. It wasn't particularly special, but it was dark, had a crowd, and for the most part the people there didn't take too much notice of Val or what she was doing. She could get away with a lot in a space like this. For the most part, the music wasn't quite as obnoxious as it was in her brother's parties.
She eased herself into a table in a dark corner, settling down to wait, toying with her dress and twirling strands of her extended hair. Cosmetic spells were the only things she at all cared about, other than death magic, which was an automatic given. This sort of thing was more self chosen and personal. She was interested to see how her date for the night was going to take to it, though. Her glasses weren't on, she usually left them out when putting together a more feminine presentation. It made her eyes sting a bit, but she could deal with that. It was dark here, dark enough to stand it.
However, Val stood up from her spot again when spotting the fact that her other guest had arrived first. The girl came over with her own boyfriend, greeting Val, talking to her for a moment about mindless things. Val smiled away, and gave empty returns of the gesture. The boyfriend gave her a bit of an uncomfortable look, but both Val's current presentation and the muffled club atmosphere easily made sure that didn't lead to anything more serious. They moved away at last to get on with their date night, and Val leaned herself up against the wall next to her table.
She had high hopes for this night. There would be progress, and something to remember, she would make sure of that.
