Felen' eyes snapped open as the man approached. Revealing his demonic eye with black sclera. "Good evening. I'm afraid my actual dancing would be a little more than just a bit of swaying," he smiled slightly. Just enough to show his charm but not dropping his guard. He had noted the way Maarab held himself. Familiar in a way- the body language of a soldier. Or former soldier.

"But either way I'm Felen Velgaren." He was quite polite and his voice was best described as smooth and pretty.

"I'm also a newer arrival here. To answer your question though I'm here because I work for Woodland Imports, one of the sponsors for tonight." It wasnt a lie, not technically. He was paid through Zora's company and he was employed as her assistant as well as her bodyguard. But there was no reason to come right out and say that part. If he wanted to be obvious he'd be openly carrying his weapons instead if concealing them

Tadashi glanced towards the poofy dress and covered his mouth to hide a laugh. "I think that's enough dress for all three of us to wear." Not that he had any interest in wearing a dress. It was just a lot going on there. No way was any of them wearing something like that.

He looked at Shiro, trying to figure out whether she was just trying to get out of dancing or not but he couldnt tell. The other part though... he shared a look of concern with Tomo. Of course she would ask, and he didnt really want to lie to her. "There are a few others but I think they're busy with their own conversation," he answered in an evasive way. Definitely not pointing them out.

"Eh, just tie the hem up with a knot and problem solved. If you do that only when we dance no one cares."
Tomo said with a wave of her hand, if Shiro genuinely didn't want to dance she'd make it clear enough. Until then Tomo was going to keep joking and nudging, she was attached to the thought of three of them dancing together.

Even before Shiro had arrived to them Tomo had made sure to position herself, so she stood between Shiro and where the trio of cheerleaders was standing, partially covered by the crowd in the first place.
"Celeste is here, doesn't she have a lot of kids? Maybe she brought them."
That was about all Tomo knew about Celeste for now, aside from the fact that she was a home ec teacher.

With his eyes open, Felen appeared even more interesting to Maarab. He wanted to know what this young man was, but it was probably too early to bombard him with questions. He did keep it in mind though, maybe he'd have a later chance to satisfy his curiousity.

"So you were not dancing then? It did seem to have less movement than most dances. But I do not think I have ever danced at a ball."

Felen's voice was pleasant, and Maarab noted both the politeness and the somewhat evasive answer. "Woodland Imports... If they're one of the sponsors then I suppose a few of the people here are working for them. You must be skilled to have found a job so quickly. And do you go to the school as well? There is so much to learn here. It's different..." He trailed off with another grin and a momentarily distant look.

"I would call it more of a quiet appreciation for the music's beauty than dancing," Felen nodded as his eyes strayed back over towards Zora. Seeing that she was in conversation but that it did not appear hostile at the moment.

Then he returned his focus to this clearly scarred man in front of him. "Perhaps if you remain long enough tonight you may get to experience the actual dancing."

A passing waiter crossed nearer with what appeared to be just a tray of glasses of water for those who were not drinking alcohol. Felen out to take one with his normal hand and sipped it.

"It is definitely an adjustment, for sure. I do go to the school, but mostly it is to become accustomed to living in this world. Many of the things taught in schools here are not things I was taught in my training."

"Tie it up?" she'd snort, "doubt Raf would appreciate me doing that." She'd adjust the shoulder of her dress a little, "maybe some one on one dancing....if I see someone cute...a group dancing sounds kinda hellish."

"She has some kids yeah," she'd say with a nod, "she's been helping me with my magical studies....between her and Raf I'll be a master witch in no time, all the magic at my fingertips."

She'd glance around once more. "Was hoping to see Kon and some of our other friends," she'd shift her feet a little, "maybe they're around."

Tadashi really didn't have much to offer on wearing dresses. He knew they could be pretty but other than that? Nothing really.

He did squint at the emphasis Shiro was putting on having all the magic. She sure had been focused on learning how to do new and crazy things lately. "We've got tons of time to learn whatever we want though. I don't think theres a reason to rush it."

He wrung his gloved hands together in guilt though as she mentioned Kon. Tadashi felt like he was betraying her by keeping her from seeing her friends.
"Um," he paused as he tried to change the subject but mostly just came across as hiding something, "you dont want anything to eat Shiro?"

Arrive at the party 30 minutes after the assigned starting time, dressed accordingly in formal burgundy pantsuit that adorned curves but didn't over-define them, greet the hostess, greet people of importance, greet back anyone who greets you even if you do not know them. All the points in Roselyn's initial plan were almost fulfilled. She had greeted Natasha Lockwood, had gone around greeting anyone else she recognized as important or useful, and nodded and waved occasionally as someone greeted her. Appear graceful, appear composed, appear like you belong. Perfect.

Next on the line were the Del Bosques, that Roselyn had heard were attending. Of course they were, they were a big benefactor for this new association and acquaintances to Natasha Lockwood. Zoralda Del Bosque and Natasha Lockwood were friends, or so Roselyn had heard, and she also knew many other facts about the two and their lives. Enough to have an advantage in case there was an incident.

Roselyn could already hear many people in this ball talking about her, and she blocked the voices from entering her head. She scanned the crowd, and could see Zoralda Del Bosque along with her grandfather Rafael Del Bosque. The two were just going their separate ways. Zoralda was Roselyn's main objective at the moment, and thus she followed after the woman, keeping her steps even and not hurried. And just as the woman arrived to the table with the drinks Roselyn caught up.
"Good evening, Ms. Del Bosque."
Roselyn greeted, and pretended that she had merely come for drinks too and took a glass in hand. Don't appear too eager, be nonchalant but not too much so you do not appear disinterested.
"This is a very lovely event, Ms. Lockwood outdid herself."

Taking a flute of chilled champagne from the waiter serving at the table, Zoraida turned around to face the person when she heard a woman's voice addressing her.

"Yes, she did," Zoraida agreed as she gazed around the room appreciatively, "Tonight's event has been extremely well put together. I applaud Ms. Lockwood for her ability to pull something like this together in such a short time," she said as she glanced at the young woman and smiled welcomely. She looked vaguely familiar, although Zora had to admit that she had met a lot of people at a lot of social events and couldn't quite be sure if, perhaps, she was someone Zora had met at a fundraiser or one of her many clients.

"I am not sure we have met before or not," Zoraida said as she extended a hand, "I'm Zoraida, an old friend of Ms. Lockwood actually."

Roselyn nodded along politely, as Zoralda Del Bosque voiced her opinion on Natasha Lockwood's event, positive of course. Roselyn had no eye for such things so her opinion couldn't be trusted on too much, but she could see as much that the event was well arranged. Zoralda's smile was polite and built to be inviting and open. But like with most things Roselyn doubted it.
"I hear she does hold years of experience from events such as these, so it is good that experience served her well in arranging this."
Roselyn remarked casually, sipping her champagne, indirectly letting Zoralda know she was on top of her facts.

Now, how much did Roselyn want to reveal about her knowledge of Zoralda? Had they met for the first time now? Had they met before? How much should she insinuate? Ah, this was all getting entertaining, and Roselyn hid the smallest smile behind her champagne glass as the fae in her rejoiced.
"A pleasure."
Roselyn answered with a polite tone, and extended her own hand to meet Zoralda's. Roselyn's hand was slightly cold, but her grip was just the right amount of firm and her fingers didn't curl around the other woman's hand too much. Handshakes were like an art form for Roselyn, after all.
"Roselyn. I try to make an appearance now and then during events such as these. I wouldn't want my reputation as the ice queen of Umney Group solidify."
Mention your position casually, so it does not seem like you're showing off your power. Throw in a light chuckle, proof that you were joking but not too amused so Zoralda could pick up on the fact that Roselyn was indeed not attached to that nickname, for multiple reasons.

"I feel like you've got a hoarding problem, sis."
Tomo agreed with Tadashi, and nodded a bit. The way Shiro chased after magic seemed almost obsessive, and it was honestly kind of freaking Tomo out. Not that she'd say it, obviously.

"Why would Kon even be here? Last time I checked he wasn't a vampire, yet. I hear he's been doing some modifications too."
Tomo said with a nonchalant shrug, glancing at Tadashi. He was being way too nervous, it was obvious that he was hiding something.
"They do got some killer shrimp here, you should hurry since me and Tadashi almost obliterated one tray of it."

"It's just a hobby," she'd say with a snort, "lots of people collect things, for me my collection is just magic. A nice healthy hobby."

"Well....this might be a chance for him to maybe pick up vampire features," she'd say with shrug. "You ok there?" she'd ask, squinting a little at Tadashi, "you're a little fidgety."

Looking over at the shrimp she'd grab up a few pieces, she almost wolfed them down, then remembered where she was and instead ate them a bit slowly and carefully.

Tadashi frowned. Shiro's insistence on learning new magic was a lot more like an obsession than a collection. But the Ball was neither the time nor the place to push that discussion. But he did say, kind of under his breath, "I liked the yarn hobby better."

He stopped himself from wringing his hands together when she called his nervous fidgeting out. His eyes widened in what he thought was an innocent look, though all it did was draw attention to the fact that he slowly nodded instead of actually answering Shiro. His eyes lingering for a moment on something or someone in the crowd.

"I think I see Rafael.... Mr Del Bosque? What are we supposed to call him again?"
