Even if neither Tomo or Tadashi wanted to talk about this weird obsession Shiro had with magic right now Tomo wasn't going to stay quiet about it forever. She was going to talk about it with Shiro some of these days, but in this fancy pants party they were supposed to be having fun so why ruin it with an intervention?

"When is Tada not fidgety?"
Tomo in turn said with a smirk, and poked her brother to the side a bit. Tadashi had the habit of being nervous sometimes with no reason, so Tomo had a point.
"Does the tux itch somewhere? Mine feels weird right around my behind."
Tomo joked and laughed a bit, also fidgeting a bit as if adjusting...something.

Tomo snorted at how Shiro almost gobbled the shrimps right up just like Tomo and Tadashi had earlier, and she stepped closer to her sister.
"Come on, let out your inner beast. Devour that marine life."
Tomo whispered with a teasing tone, and then shifted her attention to Tadashi and from there to Rafael.
"I don't know, but I'll call him Rafael. You guys can call him whatever you want. Mr. Del Bosque, Rafael, Raffy..."
And Tomo proceeded to list few more silly-sounding nicknames and snickered. But she didn't approach the words "father" or "dad", didn't even poke them with a mile long stick. Tomo was pretty sure it wasn't even possible to get yourself a father figure past the age 13. Hell, she was still wondering why Rafael had adopted the three of them. Sure, he had given them a reason why, but still...

"The yarn collecting wasn't as fun," she'd tell her brother with a shrug. "Besides....learn the right magic and you conjure as much yarn as you want," she'd snort, "besides, I usually ended up just giving you two the yarn I didn't knit into something."

Turning to her sister she'd stick her tongue out at her. "No...I'm trying to be....I don't know....more girl like?" she'd shrug, "some teacher told me the other day that I should eat more lady like when at formal events like these."

She'd glance over at their guardian to be. "I'm calling him Raff......maybe we should ask him what he prefers?" she was still getting used to the idea of them all being a family under one household and everything.

Natasha took her leave after a nice and very enjoyable chat with Miss Kurono, making a tentative dinner meeting for the following week.

Walking slowly through the ever-growing crowd, Natasha mingled with guests and smiled welcomely at anyone who crossed her path, stopping to chat amicably a few times with vampires and other feeders who had recently become members of the MCSS.

Honestly Tomo did have a point. Tadashi had a tendency to worry. His inner old man showing, in some ways. But no, his tuxedo was actually well fit. Even if he didn't personally like to go quite so far in dressing up, he was the most used to wearing collars and nicer clothes out of the three as far as he knew.

He elbowed Tomo lightly for her jokes. "Talkign about your butt itching is really ladylike," he laughed.

Tadashi firmly disagreed with Tomo's inner thoughts. He definitely believed they could gain a father figure, but only through time. And only if they wanted it. He probably also wouldn't want to call Rafael 'dad' either, but that wasn't super important right then. They were at a big fancy party and trying to be on their best behavior.

He nodded as Shiro said what was probably the most reasonable course of action. Just asking the man what he would prefer to be called. "You're right, I guess I should just ask him really. But you're plenty ladylike Shiro. You're not even taking about itchy butts," he smiled and then stuck his tongue out at Tomo.

"Ah, poetic. " Maarab paused a moment then to actually listen to the music - he'd been too focused on the people to pay it much attention. "I suppose it is pleasant." He wasn't the type of person who listened to a lot of music, but the rhythm was nice enough.

He smirked at the comment about dancing. "That is my intention. It is somewhat the point of having a ball, is it not, to allow people to dance?" And he did want to dance with this Felen, eventually. Though he was in no rush to do so, the conversation had his attention, the hint of mystery. Maarab was watching the elf with curiosity, not staring, but observing him nonetheless.

Passing on the water for the moment, Maarab did note that Felen was not drinking alcohol or at least wasn't drinking it yet. That could mean any number of things - he himself wasn't drinking it either, still from his other admittedly limited observations, Maarab thought it might be because the elf was currently working.

"That... yes it is very different here. A lot of customs to learn, unwritten laws." A slight frown passed over his face at that, quickly covered up by another grin. "They are quite eager to teach people here though. My own home.. frowned upon too many questions. You are from a different world as well?"

Felen nodded and lowered his cup of water. Once more taking a casual glance around the room before resuming the conversation. "To dance, to gather people for certain types of conversation and as far I'm aware, to bring rich people together to open their wallets. But the first two are more appropriate for myself. I'm neither rich nor a benefactor here."

He allowed a cool smile to cross his face. A slight upturned twitch of his eyebrow at the comment on unwritten laws. He was building a quick and dirty idea of this man in his head. Clearly scarred and having difficulties adjusting. Not hostile but seeming to like grinning a little too much to be normal for this place. He had an air of danger to him, the kind that came from training and, unfortunately, experience.

"I am from someplace else. I do not think elves are as prevalent here in this world. At least not from what I've seen. I wont ruin the mood with any grisly details but in summary my unit was ambushed and some form of magical interaction landed me here." It was sharing a little more than usual for a first introduction but it wasnt a secret and Felen had a hunch the man would appreciate the little extra information. At the very least he could keep him in conversation until he confirmed whether the man was a threat or not.

"Ah yes. I had forgotten this was a - what was the word? - fundraiser. An interesting concept. .. It does not apply to me either, certainly not in this location. But conversation and dancing are a good way to spend a night." Maarab looked around thoughtfully. Perhaps he was more inclined to violence, but he wasn't being untruthful. A quieter evening might be good for him. And so far he thought he'd managed to not say anything too against the social rules.

"I have not exactly seen the rest of the world. I've gathered that aside from places like my home that are not quite part of it, hell, heaven, the outposts of both, it's mostly humans. Except here, on this island." When Felen mentioned he was an elf, Maarab took the opportunity to ask a question, "Do all elves have different coloured hands?" It might or might not have been a rude question, but Maarab's tone was straightforward curiousity.

Grinning aside, Maarab had been trying to tone himself down a bit. However he couldn't stop himself from laughing quietly when Felen said he'd spare the grisly details. "I think you have a better grasp of this politeness thing than I do. An unfortunate way to end up here. I came here by chance. The education.." he hesitated a moment, with a slight downturn of lips and a distant look, half-unconsciously touching the chain on his neck. "The education was too good to pass up."

Curious. Apparently Maarab was here not for the fundraiser but for the social event. Fair enough. He could appreciate wanting a nice evening of conversation and dancing. That was more or less what he had hoped for himself, assuming he wasn't called to action to assist or defend Ms. Del Bosque. But she still seemed to be doing fine at the moment.

Felen took another sip of his water as he listened to Maarab reference heaven and hell and some kind of outposts. Military bases of some kind? He wasn't entirely certain. Another note to keep track of. "As I understand it you are correct. Only humans aside from the hidden supernatural beings among them. I have not seen the rest of this world either though."

Then the question about his hand. It didn't upset him like it had once upon a time. When the hand was new he had tried to cover it up or avoid speaking of it but that was ineffectual and unhealthy. So Felen had grown more used to displaying it and answering teh same question as always 'is that normal?' "No, this is not common for my people," he began as he raised up the black clawed hand so Maarab could see it closer. The orange ornamentation on it glinted a little in the light and the claws twitched like it wasn't just responding to Felen's wishes alone.

"Unfortunately I was partially possessed by a demon after falling in battle. The clerics kept it from consuming me entirely but I was left with some additions."

He didn't say anything in response to Maarab's mention of an "education". The look the man had upon his face reminded Felen of those who came back from particularly bad engagements. The look Felen probably had worn for a time after his own return from death's door. He didn't know enough about the man though to offer comfort. A hand on the shoulder or a few soft words might not be appreciated so he let him finish his thoughts.

"That is common, not seeing the rest of the world. I think even people who've lived out there haven't seen most of it. From what I've read it is a large place. With the humans' clever intentions, the internet, even this island seems bigger than home was. There's almost no need to go anywhere else. " Maarab looked Felen over again, wondering which of them would blend in better off of Manta Carlos. In spite of the elf's odd appearance, he thought Felen might have the easier time - the elf seemed like he could be more non-descript in behaviour than Maarab was.

Looking at the demonic arm, Maarab was fascinated by how much it resembled his own shadowy arm, though he was certain the types of demon were different. Almost he wanted to compare them, but even he was aware how intrusive a question that would be. Besides, his hands were covered up by gloves at the moment. Instead he just nodded. "Interesting.. there are many kinds of demon in this world. I am half myself, but my kind are soldiers for the most part. Possession is not one of our abilities." It was more matter of fact than anything else, not a reassurance, but he'd stopped grinning for a moment.

Maarab didn't realize that he'd zoned out a little, just briefly while he remembered what it had cost to get permission to stay here. He blinked, having lost his train of thought. "hmm. So far this place has been worth the trouble. How have you found it?"

Felen mostly just nodded at the mention of people not seeing the whole world here. He didnt really have much of a desire to explore it all either. He was glad to be where he was, with a solid purpose to follow.

He didnt roll up his sleeves to give Maarab a better look but he also didn't pull it away after the man got his first glance at it. "Funny. I have this in a roundabout way because I was a soldier too. All of my people are, at least when young. The possession though... isnt a common thing." Indeed the extensive tattooing and binding rituals to hold it steady had been more or less last ditch efforts.

The next question was quite easy to answer though. "When I arrived I felt like I lacked a purpose. Finding my employer has been very rewarding," he explained as he casually slipped his cup onto the tray of a waiter as he passed by. "But tell me, what is it that give you purpose here?"
