Wednesday eyed the bird as he flew in, watching him perch. Normally, she might give him a more warm greeting, but after having lived under the same roof as Toto for the last few months, she was feeling just a little bit weary of birds.

"Good evening to you too, Garry." She said, giving the familiar a small smile, which widened once their host stepped into view. She waved to him. "It's good to see you again Monday, it's been awhile."

Wednesday then addressed the second new face of the night. Candle's elemental appearance was striking, but a lifetime of practicing magic meant to she was familiar with magical beings. What she wasn't used to, however, was her choice of attire. The french maid outfit was certainly...distinctive.

...Did Monday pick that out for her? She didn't realise he was into that sort of thing. Wednesday thought that was a little odd, but she decided not to worry too much about it. She didn't want to be all judgemental.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Candle." Wednesday said, slightly awkward under the elementals intense gaze. She was starting to feel that small bit of anxiousness she often felt when she was around unfamiliar people, though hopefully it would pass as the night went on.

"Ah, just some water would be fine, thanks." She said, still mostly sticking with Tuesday. They were still waiting on a couple of witches, but she wasn't too hungry, so she could be patient for the moment.

Ganymede was just about to answer that question - about whether Monday was ready - when Monday actually came out to meet them all.

The adults all started talking and Ganymede kept his mouth shut, just standing off to the side and only speaking when spoken to. It was nice to meet them, he said. His pleasant smile strained a bit whenever his eyes made contact with Tuesday, but Wednesday seemed nice.

Ganymede gasped a little, when Monday said he could help himself. Those drinks were special treats, Ganymede had thought. Rewards for doing a good job. Not that Monday had ever told him this, but Gany thought it was implied. To think, he could just get something tasty for himself just because he felt like it!

With a slightly wider smile and a slight nod, he disappeared. He found this to be more dignified than running or skipping off. In moments he would reappear in the kitchen opening the fridge and trying to choose how he would treat himself. That special kind of milk that wouldn't make him sick? Or that slightly magical drink that came in a glass bottle?

Tuesday nodded at Candle as they introduced themself. Ignoring the memory of a certain hand-removing scenario the flaming maid reminded her of. "Candle you say? I dig the name- candles are my specialty. Though...," she paused to take in the outfit they were wearing. "My candles aren't usually dressed up like...that" she mused out loud as she glanced over at Monday with a raised eyebrow. The outfit did lend itself towards certain assumptions in her mind. But that wasn't the time or place to get into it.

Tuesday held up the bag with wine bottles in it. "If someone could tell me where to put these that would be great. Or just give me a glass and i'll lighten them a little maybe," she laughed. Wine wasn't her favorite drink but it would do.

Tuesday saw that Wednesday was kind of lingering nearer to her so she gave the witch a playful nudge. "I'm sure Monday has somewhere comfortable for us to sit until it's time to eat right." She gave another glance at their host to confirm it. For all she knew maybe they were skipping straight to dinner- it was his party.

Monday glanced then curiously at Candle when Tuesday remarked on her outfit, and almost immediately went red in the face. He was so used to her attire that he had sort of forgotten how, err, how it might look to others that she choose to wear a skimpy French maid's uniform.

Clearing his throat, Monday now tried to avert his gaze from Candle's very nice assets and smiled sheepishly at Tuesday, thankful that she had sort of changed the subject to the wine she had brought.

"Yes, uh, let me grab a bottle opener, Tuesday," he said hurrying off to the kitchen, not even asking if the wine had a cork," And some glasses too," .. and remembering then Wednesday's water, he stopped and came back, looked at the women again, went red and went back to the kitchen distracted now, and not noticing Ganymede by the fridge as he grabbed ice from the freezer near the pantry.

"Candle very hot..." Garry then squawked happily as he flew onto Candle's shoulder as he puffed out his feathers and made himself comfortable.

"GAR-RY!" Monday shouted suddenly from the kitchen, groaning in embarrassment and cursing the bird under his breath.

"Glasses for the wine Tuesday so graciously provided, and a bottle of water with some ice for Wednesday," he said upon returning moments later as he gestured for his guests to follow his to the front room where there were two couches and various chairs placed near the coffee table which had a few snacks to pick at.

"Please take a seat everyone," he said graciously as he glared at Garry as Candle walked by.

"Oh, where's Ganymede?" Monday asked suddenly, looking around for him for the neko, and hoping he wasn't feeling too out of place with all these new people.

"Here I am, Monday~!" Ganymede walked up behind Monday, holding a glass of milk. He almost asked if Monday needed him to do something - but no. He began to realize, he didn't want anyone to even think he was a slave like he used to be. So he wouldn't ask how he could help. Not in front of other people. He would just look up at Monday, smile, acknowledge him, and move on. Only if Monday asked him would he help.

Looking at the other people taking their seats around the apartment, he decided to go sit down next to the green-skinned witch. She seemed nice - a lot nicer than the other woman. And she was pretty. That part didn't help. He began to realize that he didn't know how to talk to her, if he wasn't just a servant but an equal.

He sat down next to her, smiled at her, stared down at his feet for a moment. He took a sip of his glass of milk, then gathered his courage to try to start a conversation. "So, Wednesday... I, um... I mean what kind of magic do you do? I only learned a few cantrips before coming here to the island but I want to learn a lot more."

Candle but returns Wednesday's greetings with only a curt nod and nothing more. With their introductions out of the way they saw no need to prolong any sort conversation than is necessary. They are after all, Monday's guests, not theirs.

Monday was oddly insistent on doing much of the work himself when it came to set up of this party that they hosting even though they were more than capable of doing the entire set up by themselves. Still, it was refreshing change in their experience. Tuesday comments, specifically referring to their attire, was more curious. Monday seemed to have had a time time to even look as the subject turn to the scandalous nature of their attire. To save Monday from further embarrassment Candle thought it best to just address the purpose and reason for the clothes.

"This outfit is but a work of one of my previous masters. One of... lecherous intent. I understand the style of clothes to be sexualizing nature for I was as much a display piece as I was a useful tool. But their magical augmentations allow some functional merit. Enchantments and rituals woven within each thread prevent them from simply burning and allows me to better interact with material object of this plane to better perform my intended functions. Thus they are as much practical as they are... fashionable I believe the word is. At least for Salamander such as myself."

Soon after addressing their choice of clothing to their audience, the familiar screeching of their favored companion was met with warm reception as Garry landed on their shoulder.

"Indeed, I am quite hot Garry." plainly spoke Candle without any hint of irony. When the question came to if Candle wanted anything, where left looking at Monday with blank expression. In truth, they were unsure of what they wanted for they were rarely asked that. After some pause they glanced to Garry and knew exactly what they wanted.

"Peanuts. That will be all that I require." declared Candle. Before making their way to an open seat along the table that was set up. As they waited for Monday to return, they would scratch Garry along his belly for Garry enjoyed being scratched.

Wednesday found herself suppressing a small giggle at how obviously flustered Monday was, but decided not to make another comment after Tuesday's own. He seemed embarrassed enough already. She accepted the water with a smile and thanks, headed into the room directed by Monday along with everyone else and finding a seat for herself. Wednesday had a few sips, mostly content to stay quiet while the others started to chat, before noticing Ganymede sitting next to her.

"Interested in magic?" She asked, returning the young boy's smile. Normally she was a little more reticent to explain her magic to people, her family was very traditional when it came to keeping their secrets. But Ganymede had been taken in by Monday, that practically made him an extension of the coven, so she saw no harm in explaining.

"Well, most of our coven have learned some form of ritual witchcraft. I'm sure Monday could tell you more about that if you asked him. But I specialise in a form of Symbol Magic that my family has developed over a few generations."

She paused for a moment, considering something. She thought it couldn't hurt to give him a small demonstration since he seemed keen to learn.

"Every spell is a bit like a math equation." She began to explain, holding one finger in front of her. She took a brief moment to focus her magic, before moving her finger through the air, drawing a glowing line in front of her. "There's a base symbol for what I want to do, then lots of additions to it that change how the spell comes out. Things like power, direction, size, distance, duration..."

She continued drawing, a little slower than she might normally do, the small line soon growing into a small, simple glyph. Once it was complete, she gave it a tap with her finger, and the glow briefly intensified, creating a small, hovering flame, like a burning torch. It remained for a few seconds, before winking out as suddenly as it appeared.

"Naturally, bigger spells need more complicated symbols." She eventually finished explaining, rubbing one of her arms bashfully. "I've memorised a lot of them, but um, I still have a long way to go before I've mastered it all."

Monday's flustered state was rather amusing and in another setting Tuesday probably would have rubbed it in a little. He literally had an... assistant... in a sexy French maid outfit running around his home and shop. The jokes wrote themselves. But alas this was theoretically a higher class of party so she held her tongue. Though Candle did look rather nice in the outfit. She laughed as Garry agreed with that thought.

Tuesday listened to the long explanation from Candle and then nodded. "It's very fashionable for sure. But it you need it, you need it." Far be it from her to give anyone trouble for wearing something enticing anyway.

As Monday returned with the glasses Tuesday followed everyone into the sitting room. She glanced at the bottle opener and sighed. That seemed like a lot of manhandling to get the bottle open if she was going to do it one-handed. Instead she set the bottles down on the table and began reciting a quick spell. As she finished the words she flicked her wrist upwards and the cork removed itself with a resounding pop. As the wine began to breathe the cork bounced down onto the table and rolled a bit.

Tuesday sat down on one side of a couch, lounging and looking around at the others. Understandably Ganymede had opted to avoid her as much as possible.

"So your place is certainly filling up with people Monday, and I don't mean just for the party," she chuckled as her eyes wandered over Ganymede, Candle and Garry. It was kind of nice to have more people around than just the witches for a change, though she had her doubts whether Candle or Ganymede would be much fun for her to hang around.

Hearing Ganymede, Monday turned slightly when he heard his chipper voice behind him. Seeing he had a glass of milk, and looked like he was enjoying themselves, Monday watched, relieved and approvingly, as Gany sat with Wednesday and started chatting about magic.

Returning his attention to the group for a second, he excused himself and came back with Candle's request for peanuts in a small decorative bowl, having the distinct feeling that the snack was for the cheeky bird perched on her shoulder.

After he handed Candle the peanuts, and gave Garry a quick scratch, telling him good-naturedly to behave himself - to which the parrot let out a laughing noise, and a proud sounding, "Garry's good boy!"

Shaking his head, Monday just chuckled at Garry's antics and took a seat near Tuesday, pouring her a glass of wine first before helping himself to the wine she had brought.

"Yes, my tiny family has grown rather quickly, hasn't it?" he mused, a small smile forming as his gaze moved from Candle and Garry to Ganymede.

"All of it was quite unexpected, but it's nice, you know? Nice to have people around that you don't have to worry about in that way," he said to her, his words referring to their curses and the constant fear of the curses taking loved ones.

"Yes, Garry is a good boy." agreed Candle, who plucks out a peanut from the decorative bowl that Monday had placed in front of them. With the legume now between their gloved fingers, Candles raises up their hand and offers it to Garry to take. Afterwards, Candle looks to Monday and nods slightly.

"To which I find myself in agreement. Of all the masters I had the displeasure of working with, you I desire to burn the least."
