Live couldn't stand her room anymore. Things had gone all sort of wack after the hurricane but she couldn't stay in her room anymore. She didn't care about murderers or killer mermaids or anything. She didn't even bother walking out of the building, she just shadow travelled herself off campus and into the woods. Away from that cage of a space.

She came to a clearing, about 50 square feet or so, and pulled her form back together from the darkness. She stood there for a moment, soaking in the energy from the shadows around her. It was exhilarating and usually got her rather excited, but tonight it felt empty. After a couple minutes of stillness, her arms shot out to her sides. She began pooling the darkness in the palms of her hands. Still empty.

She took in a deep breath, closing her eyes and focusing her energy. There had to be a way to make this feel alive. She brought her palms together, forcing the two masses of darkness into one. They swelled and pulsed, well under the girl's control but seeming to be ready to burst at any moment with energy. She took in another long inhale and on an exhale shoved the mass of darkness out in front of her; it took a lot more focus but she held it in the air in front of her, condensing the energy. As she did this her lips parted, her eyes turned completely black and she began to mutter in Latin, "From the darkness of night, Filled with those barely alive, Seething with energy of light, Bring froth the friend of dead!"

The darkness then spread into a larger sphere like shape, and seemed to glow with a bright darkness from within. Live's form was no longer fully human and her extremities (head, hands, and legs) and turned to the same darkness as well. Her torso seemed to fluctuate between human and shadow.

Suddenly the darkness pulled into itself, seeming to disappear for a moment before bursting back out, somehow flashing darkness before disappearing completely. In it's wake stood a creature humanoid in form but about seven feet tall and about as big around as a flag pole. It's hand's had no fingers and it wore no clothes, exposing a deep blue gray skin covered in scars.

"Welllll," It seemed to hiss, "If it isn't Miss Lilly Love."

"I thought we agreed not to call me that." The girl snapped at the creature, as her form returned to human, though her eyes remained black.

"Right, right. I forgot you seem to believe you have the ability rename yourself. Such a foolish belief but I suppose I must respect it. After all, you are but human."

Live scoffed, "I am more than human, as you very well know."

"Did you summon me just to argue? Haven't we been through this a million times?"

Live crossed her arms, but quickly un crossed thinking better of it. "No. I called you here for a fight."

The creature made it's first movement, bending down so it was face to face, or rather lack of face to face with Live. The only features the creature had was a singular deep set hole in what was possibly a forehead. "Are you sure you are ready for that?"

Live didn't flinch, only shifted herself closer to the demon's face, "Are you sure you are ready?"

The demon chuckled and pulled back from the girl. "Very well."

Live took a small step back as well, "I institute the rules of the Shadow Score." The demon chuckled, though it sounded something like a rattle snake as it's body shook. "Very well. It's your eyes."

In an instant the stillness of the situation changed. Live lunged forward, her arms returning to the shadowy form, lashing out at the creature. It flew backwards, narrowly dodging the attack. It moved as if it had no real up or down. It transitioned effortlessly from it's hands to it's feet to all fours. Live continued to lash out and the creature continued to dodge, moving out of the clearing and further into the woods. Live used the tree's to launch toward's the creature but none of her lashes hit their mark.

"You're just as careless as before. Have you learned nothing since our last encounter?" The creature moved effortlessly around each attack and then finally launched out one of it's legs, or maybe it was an arm, and struck Live in the chest. The blow sent the girl flying backwards all the way back to the clearing. "You are so foolish and rash. You still haven't overcome that human mind of your's have you? Such a shame. You could be so powerful."

Live barely managed to catch herself before her back slammed into the ground. She pushed back to her feet, glad she had worn sweatpants and not a skirt for this battle. "So you have said before." She lunged back towards the creature, seeming to aim for it's face. The creature chuckled again and moved quickly out of the way. However, Live made a quick turn and came back around, aiming her leg, pulsing with dark energy for the back of the demon. It started to make contact, but then the creature shoved itself into her foot, throwing Live's balance off, causing her to fall to the ground.

"That was a cheep shot!" She cried, climbing to her feet.

The demon looked down from a tree above, "You got faster. But speed alone won't be enough to win this fight. I haven't even used my shadow's yet." It dropped from the tree and rose to it's full hight, just a few feet away from Live. "Honestly, I am not sure why you began this fight. It was only a year or so ago in human time when we last fought and I know that with your mortal body, you couldn't have progressed that much. I feel as though this battle may be pointless. And I know that you are smart enough to realize this. So I must ask you again..." It leaned down so it was face to face with Live, "Why did you summon me here today?"

Live brought her arm up, trying to land a hit to it's face, but it called upon the shadow's to restrain Live, effectively blocking and incapacitating the girl. "Hey!" She shouted, "That is against the rules!"

"I know the rules. I made the rules. I asked you a question. Why did you summon me?"

Live's eyes narrowed, her mind swirling with anger, "Let go of me."

The demon shook it's head, "No no no. Not until you answer my question."

"I don't answer to anyone, let alone the like's of you!" She tired to morph her form into darkness but it proved pointless. The demon's power of the darkness clearly overpowered Live's. There was silence for a long moment and then the creature pulled back, though it still restrained Live with the darkness.

"I see. Bored again are we?" It chuckled again, it's body rattling, "Fine. I can fix that." It leaned into Live again, it's deep set hole beginning to glow. Live started to scream but the restraints of the darkness covered her mouth but not before a shrill scream was echoed out into the woods. She could only hope someone would hear her.

It seemed as if nothing happened at first. Everything was still and quite and then the restraints dropped from Live, her her form fell to the ground, her eyes open and glowing black.

"There that should tide you over for another year or so. Enjoy your eyes." And with that, the creature turned, another black sphere appeared and it stepped into it, disappearing.

Someone just - yeah, that was doubtless. Someone just made a big mistake.

"Fuck this island. Just - just fuck this island. All these little brats doing devil deals like they weren't - hrng."

Freddy could recognize that sort of energy anywhere. He'd spent forever trying to get away from the stifling sensation of demonic power, as it had surrounded him nonstop in the past. He sighed and began to walk lazily toward where he sensed what appeared to be a battle.

Soon enough the demonic energies had mostly left, and that usually meant one thing. Someone probably died. He gave another sigh and kept on walking ahead.

He came to a clearing and saw there a girl lying down, presumably bereft of life with that darkness emanating from her eyes. Another sigh. Did this kid - okay, I don't even want to fucking know.

The sound of a zipper opening filled the silence, and a tentacle shot out of Freddy's back as he sat down on a nearby rock to smoke a cigarette. It prodded the girl, first tapping on the shoulder, then on her belly, and then on her forehead. "Hey. You. Fuck happened here?"

Live lay motionless for a good while. Even her brain seemed to void of it's usual chatter. It wasn't until another being came into sight that her consciousness began to stir again. Still though, her body did not react even as the tentacle man poked her body.

Until it tapped her forehead. In an instant, Live was on her feet, as if her body had transported itself to standing. She stood there for a moment, her black eyes locked on the being in front of her.

"I lost a fight." She said plainly, though her tone sounded more like she had won rather than lost. Her head tipped to the side as she took in the creature in front of her.

"You're a demon. Did I summon you too? You seem too strong for me to summon."

A fight? Interesting. That little bit made Freddy grin, from her sheer audacity alone. To fight with a demon... for him, that was Tuesday or maybe Wednesday, what with the whole "demons like having more power and keep trying to coup" thing back where he came from, but for humans, that wasn't quite as common.

"Gotta hand it to you... fight with a fucking demon and not get torn apart? Goddamn well done." Freddy laughed and took that lit cigarette from his lips, tucking it away into his shoulder and pulling out a bottle of beer from the same hole. "Want some?"

He put the bottle down on the ground and stood up, briefly gazing up to the skies. It was a good night out, and he felt stuffy in that shirt of his. "Since you've fought a demon already anyway, I'm going to let myself air out. You won't mind."

That wasn't even a question. Freddy simply stated it, and then ripped open in half from forehead down. The body split open and out shot two tendrils, hooking onto the distant trees. Far too rapidly, they tugged, and pulled out the rest of Feanon's eldritch form. In a second it was standing there, towering as tall as a tree and hundreds of times more unnatural, with the fleshy carpet hanging from behind and the latticework on every inch of its body.

"Well. Yeah, you didn't summon me. If you tried and I didn't feel like it, then yeah, it'd probably be 'too strong for you to handle'. Demons do other things than get summoned, you know?"

Live's expression had been extremely stoic, as usual, this hole time (well, usual except for the glowing black eyes but even that wasn't an impossibility for the girl); until she got a compliment.

"Well done Lilly! This demon told you well done!" It was the first conscious thought her mind had produced since the demon had disappeared. For an instant, a small smirk crossed the girls lips. Clearly, she was a bit pleased with herself.

"Your remarks are most appreciated but I must tell you, that demon couldn't have torn me to shred's even if it wanted to.." For a moment her mind and mouth froze, as she almost spoke words but then seemed to hold her tongue. Why? Beer. And even better than that, beer that was being offered to her.

In an instant, moving in the same fashion as before like her body was transporting itself and not actually moving, quickly grabbing the bottle and then returning to the spot she had been in before, but this time sitting. The girl tipped the bottle back, ingesting a few good gulps before returning it to it's place.

She wasn't far from the demon and with her new eye's watching it "undress itself", so to speak, was utterly mystifying. Live's swirling black eye's seemed to grow larger as she watched, her breath held. "Oh..no, I don't mind at all. If you don't mind me staring a bit. I will admit I am quite the demon nerd and quite aware of demonic proceedings outside of 'getting summoned'. Which leads me to ask...a question I should have led with by was caught off guard by my eyes...who are you?"

Live's eyes remained glued to the creature. It was quite beyond anything she had ever seen and, with the Eyes of Score, her perceptions of demonic power increased dramatically, making the being before her seem to pulse with power.

The faceless head with that sigil on it bent down and faced Live, as much as any faceless entity could face someone. She boasted of strength, and Freddy knew better than to comment, as any comment could lead to reckless endangerment. Instead, he sighed, tendrils distending. "Fuck. Demon nerds? We were feared once and now we've got a fucking fandom? What the hell?"

His voice came not from the head as there was no mouth. Instead, it was as if the place itself spoke, sound coming from every direction in the vicinity. "If you're actually a demon nerd like you say you know that 'who' is a powerful question for demons... you also probably know that there are those like me that don't give a damn. I am Feanon, king of Hell, or one of them, yadda yadda, all that bullshit. I don't care if you use my name of power or anything, because rules sorta apply differently when you're higher up, and even if you weaken me, I'm not exactly the raw power sorta guy anyway."

The fleshy carpet of tendrils from Freddy's massive form twisted around, coiling around his gargantuan form and squeezing. Slowly but surely it constricted more until there was nothing but a small ball of meat pulsing, shrinking in size. It burst into tiny fragments that disintegrated as they flew apart, leaving behind Freddy in his human form just as before. "Okay, that's good enough. So. Why were you fighting a demon here in the first place?"

Live chuckled, "You still very much have my fear and respect. And I wouldn't say that I really fall into any fandom. My admiration and "nerd-ness", as I put it, for demon's stems from the very essence of my being."

The girl paused for a second, as if considering if she should actually say more, but clearly whatever motivated her to pause was not enough to stop her from speaking. "I apologize if my words were rash before. Like I said, my eyes have got me quite twisted around now and it's affecting my brain in way's I forgot were possible. I have no intention of attacking you. I can tell the energy you possess is high and being the creature that I am, it is not in me to randomly attack a demon."

As the creature transformed back into it's human form, Live smirked. It seemed that the two of them at least had one thing in common, a human form and a not so human form. Though Live's wasn't quite as 'tangible'. It was quite the site to watch this creature change. She really was a nerd when it came to all things demon.

"You answered my question, and quite thoroughly, so I suppose I owe you the same response. I am a Shadow Walker; essentially a human body with a mostly demonic soul created for the purpose of being a bridge between a spirit realm and the mortal one we stand in now. However, I was made on accident so I have no tribe or group calling upon me connect to the Shadow Realm, where my power's come from. So I have resorted mostly to doing so out of boredom or for my own pleasure." She gave a shrug and rose to her feet, moving a bit closer to Freddy, "I summoned a demon named Score, one of the first demonic creatures I met, because fighting with Score has a very interesting outcome. It is a demon of darkness and tallies and enjoys fights and such to which it can occupy it's time. However, whether you lose or win a fight with Score..." Live took a small step closer to the 'man', her dark eyes glowing like a black hole, "It curses your eyes."

Freddy sat down again, sticking his left hand into his chest and digging out a few more bottles of drinks. Following a few seconds of absent-minded rummaging he pulled out a cold bottle of what appeared to be a bottle of a lava-like drink and set it down. Demonic mead, which was regular mead except it was demonic in a non-FDA approved way, tasted the best at night. He took a swig and sighed. "And I was looking forward to my first stretch in a while. This is okay too, okay, fucking fine."

He just listened closely to Live's story, and felt a bit disappoint. Demons from his realm were not quite as lenient. From where he was, even the lower level demons would leave their summoners with worse were they summoned for such menial reasons. "An eye. Your eyes are the price for being able to summon a demon? Even I don't fucking charge that cheap."

That little tidbit made Freddy want to show Live how things worked for the demons he actually considered as demons by more than technicality, but that would have some very difficult to handle repercussions. Which, to say it more plainly, meant that he was too lazy to clean up afterward.

With a flick of his fingers a tiny viewport opened up behind his head in the air, where the smallest view of his dimension's constant demonic upheaval could be seen. In the distance, the din of battle miles away could still be heard, as a demonic voice, distorted and echoing, rang out from the slit in the air. "My liege. Have you come to help us quell the uprising of -"

"No, you can fucking do it. I'm bored. I'm just - I don't even know why I opened up this portal. There's nothing happening."

Sighing, Freddy closed the portal. It wasn't as interesting as he'd thought. As usual, his lieutenants were still being too focused on "keeping order" even when it would be more interesting and not harmful in the slightest to just let things run their course.

Freddy drank again and pointed to Live. "You know what, you decide what the fuck happens now."

Live was happy to see this creature kept such a supply of alcohol on them. She was momentally distracted by the beverages until he spoke. "Oh, you could have stayed in your other form if you so preferred. I would change into my other form as well but I am afraid communication would then become near impossible and I would so much enjoy to continue our exchange."

Live chuckled, "Yes, I am sure that to you it must not seem a great price. But most demon's from the realm I draw from have very little interest in death. They are demons of darkness, the absence of light, and enjoy only to create more darkness and less light. Killing people can do this but there is so much more that can be done to drain light."

"Like these eyes! They are cursed to have the veil of the spirit world partially lifted, allowing demonic forces to be visibly seen. To any normal human this would be terrifying and overwhelming, leading them to believe that darkness is everywhere and cannot be avoided. I already know this. In fact, it is a fact that I relish in every day. With these eyes now I can truly enjoy it for a bit. It serves only to enhance my ability to connect to my Shadow Realm."

She gave a shrug, "Besides, Score and any other demon I summon cannot harm my physical body. That is one of the perks of being a Walker; the demons I summon, while not wholly under my command, cannot harm me physically nor should they want to. My job is to work with them, not against them."

She peered into the viewpoint to Freddy's world, her heart thumping as she got yet another glimpse at the demonic realms that lay just outside her reach. "Seems a rowdy place to me." It was neither a good thing nor a bad thing. It was just the way that place was and Live was only observing it.

She was about to walk away from the demon for a moment, to give the both of them some space when he suggest that she should pick what happens next. "Hmmm, I would suggest a fight but I believe that would be pushing my luck to fight two demon's in one night, especially one that could actually harm me. And with my eye's like they are right now, you would surely have an upper hand since I have not acclimated to them yet..." She paused, shifting her weight between her feet, "Oh! How about a drinking game? I haven't had the opportunity to drink with a demon before."

Despite Live's usual silent and stoic nature, she was babbling and nearly happy around this creature. Something about the circumstances had her in just the right mood to actually enjoy some company for a change.

"Count yourself lucky, you know. Half the fucking demons I know by name would have you drinking your own bits before alcohol and that's just the several hundred whose names I remember. Don't know where you get your demons but where I'm from they have names that are absolute bullshit. How the fuck do you even say those names?"

Freddy ranted a little bit, and then let loose a brief word in eldritch speech, the very utterance of which made the trees sway and shake despite being some distance away. Normal humans would tremble in fear or lose some degree of sanity or outright collapse upon hearing such a name, yet Freddy didn't particularly think the same would apply for this... person?

Another zipper manifested, this time on the soil beneath Freddy's feet. Out came an ornate cask of exotic demon ale, followed by an irate female voice. "In'alam manen d'y tap'ui ia uq'it ni'nanna! Sub'li 'mon man d'ta!"

Though that was a demonic phrase, there was no power in it save perhaps the irritation of the speaker, frustrated at Freddy once again just popping in to take from the cellar without permission. True, it was all his anyway, but just a little respect would be good.

Freddy knelt down and opened up the cask, letting its aroma loose into the world. From the top of the cask he pulled out two simple glasses made of glass. "Well. What did you have in mind?"
