A farewell to arms.

Blinking Geo listened to the list of the materials her endoskeleton was created from and shook her head, once again baffled about the reason why any information that was about her creation was either blocked, erased, or just not installed in the first place. Maybe they really didn't want her to be able to self repair anymore then she already could? It was foolish anyway.

The next comments from the boy made her wonder though, could she feel the metal?

There are sensors along my endokeleton that allow me to know when it is damaged but currently the ones in that area are,” she paused and closed her eyes for a second to do a quick diagnostic, “ now non functional. I have shut them down, I feel nothing through the metal otherwise.”

Opening her eyes she wondered if it was worried that she was going to freak out in pain when the arm was reattached? What that what the shock the child was warning her about? She had been through worse before, though granted in the end she had government assistance in the repair process back then.

I will feel no pain when the limb is reattached. Any lingering pain from the initial accident has also passed.” It was true too, as by now all the small cuts and burns that had covered her face and the like had healed. The only real substantial damage that was left was her arm. “I do not mean to rush but the quicker we can get this done the better.”

"Okay then, this won't hurt you then" He then floated over to a near by stand and pulled out some darker tinted goggles and put them on as he floated his way over to Geo. "Now you MIGHT want to look away. This gets kind of bright." With that he pushed a button on the cylindrical device and a small plasma flame emerged. He moved forward slowly and tried to get a grip on the exposed bits of the joint to the arm.

"I'm going to need to remove the broken sections so I can engineer and machine a new section for you." He was trying to be informative as he was reaching to properly bisect the broken section from the non damaged section of her arm.

As the flame sprang to life Geo simply closed her eyes and turned her head slightly to the side. It was no use damaging her optics while trying to get a limb repaired after all.

“That is fine, as long as the arm is functional again that is what matters.” she said in response to what the child had said.

It was strange though, that the most capable person there was to repair her arm had turned out to be a child. What else was this day going to bring?

The plasma blade easily melted and sliced the titanium allow and with how fast it happened Maeko was able to throw the broken section of arm into a waste bin, he would sort out the metals when he had more time, right now it was taking up space. But with the section 'cleaned' he would be able to work on it later. First was giving her a new arm and sorting out what she was going to need.

So turning off the plasma blade he removed his goggles and partially hoped the residual heat on the metal didn't burn the woman...that would be terrible. "Now, I guess it's time to ask, what sort of arm would you like? I'm assuming that the Hinge joint would be prefered if you are going to be more like what you were before. But Now would be a chance for something new for you if you'd like. Ball and socket or what not. If you want I can as well give you a mini rail gun in the arm for an additional source of firepower...don't know how legal such a thing would be though." some human laws escaped Maeko's comprehension.

She simply stared at the child for a few moments, was he serious? Machine guns or the like for arms? First off the suggestion was ridiculous, and secondly it would drawn undue attention to her. The fact that she would be unable to regrow new organic components on such a wildly different arm would also be downside.

“No, it must be rebuilt as it was or else my machinery can not properly regenerate the organic components.” With her good arm she reached into an undamaged pocket of the overalls and pulled out a pencil she used to scribble notes on when a computer was not near by, though looking around there was no paper here. “If you have something for me to write on I can draw basic schematics of anything that was not deemed classified. It should assist you in the construction of a new arm.”

When Geo offered to draw out the schematics he waved her off. "Oh no need the hands and elbow are actually very easy to properly articulate. I was just wondering if you wanted any upgrades to the arm so you could have back up options." He moved over to the smelter and began to input the parameters needed for the arm plus a bit of extra material so he could attach it properly to the stub of arm still connected to Geo.

"But I'm curious, What DO you do for a living? I mean...again just curious, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to...this is just going to take quite some time...might as well talk to each other." While Maeko had been talking and moving around the shop, the orb that was Kai had worked itself into the small orb drone with small arms to carry around small items that Maeko usually forgot but instead this time it was floating over to Geo with a Pad of Paper for the Android to use...Kai was a useful SI to have around.

“Thank you Kai” Geo said as she took the pad of paper and started to draw on it, sketching out an almost exact schematic of what her arm should look like from elbow joint on, it also including all the wiring and computerized parts that were going to be need as far as she knew, but surely most of that could be found and then taken from the old arm? She did not really know as self repair of this magnitude was not in her programing.

“I used to be in law enforcement, a prototype series, until the experiment was considered a failure.” She looked up from h er drawing for a breif moment and seemed to sigh. “We were all called back for decommissioning, meaning our destruction, and while some went a few like me deciding that living was the better option.”

“I went mercenary, my current job, and was with a crew when we crashed here.” She finished the drawing and just set it aside before finding a place more comfortable to sit. “Now we are just waiting for work enough to get the ship fixed so we can go. Apparently the Captain is having some difficulty with that.”

Forgot we started this thread when she was still with the old crew, had to edit it a bit to not mention new stuff >.< So yeah, this still takes place before she joined the Vultures. Two paragraphs gone!
