"Please. The man is a total lightweight. I'm sure he'd have a hangover even without me drugging him. I'll never understand that either. I'm half his weight, or less, and yet he has the tolerance of a fourteen year old..."

Leaving the used glasses on the table, Uzume shook her head at Jacob in mild disappointment before rubbing his hair and going over to the drinks again. At no point did Uzume seem the least bit threatened, or even worried that Lenn might do something in retaliation. Where Lenn might have been paranoid and watching her back, Uzume nonchalantly turned her back to fix some new drinks. This time, there was no mixing. She was pouring some straight-up liquor into a couple of glasses.

There were a few moments of silence as Uzume poured two glasses full of some top shelf liquor. All the while she did not even look at Lenn or show any caution about the situation. When she turned around, glasses in hand, she still had that smirk on.

"What I plan to do is talk some more with you, Lenn. Woman-to-woman stuff. Without Jacob around to hear."

She held a glass out for Lenn.

"... Don't worry. No 'extra mix' for you. That was just for Jacob, and I like you."

It was the strong stuff too.

"You see, Lenn... I don't really care that you're an assassin--er--retired assassin, even though did a poor job hiding your gun collection..."

Uzume pointed to the guitar case.

"A guitar case? But no callouses on your fingers? I was sure even Jacob could pick up on that...

Anyway, you're not concern, so you don't have to tell me anything you've done during your tenure. My case concerns the people, or person, who pays for your services. THAT is my goal.

It was pretty impressive how Uzume handled herself around Lenn, knowing that she had been practically bred for the art of killing. While others in her field would have attacked hastily by now, Lenn simply kept an eye on her. In a sense Uzume was lucky it was Lenn that she discovered. By all means, Uzume looked like she could handle herself very well, but people of her caliber were no joke. They tend to go down kicking and screaming all the way.

But this was taking a turn. Apparently the detective wasn't here to attempt to catch her; she was here to talk. Woman-to-woman, huh? Lenn could appreciate that. It made things a lot easier, but that didn't mean her guard was down. She said nothing when she accepted the glass and Uzume voiced her fondness...and even the subtle hints that Lenn was definitely no guitar player. She chuckled, deciding to take a sip of the strong stuff. This girl's pretty sharp... Normally her hands would have looked worn down or scarred from many jobs, but it was thanks to her body's abnormal healing rate that didn't even allow her to keep a blemish.

"Heh, Vereh good..."

And now this was getting even more interesting. Not only was she not here to try and detain Lenn, but she wanted information about her previous clients. "Wot? Ahah, well oy've 'ad a lot of clients. Yer gonna haf'ta be more specific...an' even so, good luck tryin' ta' catch these blokes."

"You don't have to tell me twice, honey. I've been on this case for long enough already."

The drink she took from her glass was a little longer than previous ones.

"But I always finish my cases. Otherwise I wouldn't be charging my clients so much."

How else would Uzume be able to afford such nice suits and leather gloves? Daintily putting down her drink, Uzume reached into the inside of her suit jacket. With a flick of the wrist, she produced a single photograph. It was almost charming that she was still using print for some of her evidence, when she could have easily put it on her phone. She showed the photo to Lenn. It showed a man exiting a buiding, obviously taken from a distance.

Lenn would know him as Donovan.

"I'm looking for any information on the man in this photo."

She let Lenn hold it and went back to her drink.

"Now you said you were a retire hired killer. But if I know your type, that's never exactly true. You're TRYING to retire, but this man and his cronies are trying to drag you back. Am I right? Otherwise you wouldn't need Jacob as cover or as another gun to shoot back...

So maybe we can make a deal. You give me information on this guy from your network, and I'll give you some information from mine. What you do with it, I don't care."

Well, well. Uzume was quite confident in her abilities as a P.I.. Towards the usual free lance investigators she had faced, she would have laughed in their faces and told them to fuck off, but after seeing Uzume's impressive deduction skills, Lenn had to admit that the woman was pretty good. After all, she managed to find one of the best killers in the country. Ahem, ex-killer, mercenary...Whatever. Right now, people were not letting her retire and that was a serious problem.

"Wos this?"

She took the photo, noting the hook-nosed, arrogant, ugly, blondie-bastard and wrinkled her nose. He looked so smug getting in the car. He always had that air around him as if his shit didn't stink. He stunk in general so she had no idea where he got that attitude from. He was a smart man when it came to making money, but stupid when it came to trying to reel dangerous people back into their circle. Lenn herself was a great example. Lenn tossed the photo onto the table and wiped her hand against her pants as if she got Donovan-cooties from touching the thing. "Yeh, thas' yer asshole alroigh'," She began to pace around as Uzume talked, going over strategies in her head as to what the game plan was. Though Uzume earned a glare from Lenn as she talked about Jacob being used as cover. It wasn't like that, god dammit. She was the one who hesitated with this whole moving-in thing just because of asshole. She really did love Jacob. Did Uzume not understand that Lenn was retiring just for him? Some P.I...Fuck off.

Just thinking about the whole thing was getting her angry. She had no choice but to pick up her gun once again, but this was going to be the final time. It was for a good reason; to wipe the disgusting existence of Donovan off this planet. Then she'd finally be left the hell alone and Jacob would be safe. Uzume was going to be useful. Lenn could just spill the beans about most stuff and in turn she'd get the information she needed to put him down like the sad dog that he was. "You have yerself a deal."

Once again, Uzume's assumptions had proved true. The photo had set off a reaction in Lenn that she did not even bother to hide in the slightest. It was a pretty extravagant reaction too, complete with disgusted look and even symbolic hand-wiping. Uzume took a little self-congratulatory sip of her drink for nailing Lenn as a good possible source of leads on the man. Drugging Jacob and agitating Lenn were but small side effects of getting closer to her mark, and closing this particular case.

She had a fairly good idea of what Lenn had in mind to do with her portion of the exchanged information. An angry ex-killer looking to get away from her past life? It was a situation she had seen a surprising number of times, with varying degrees of success, and failure.

"I'm very happy that we could come to an agreement, Lenn."

Uzume held out her gloved hand for another, deal-sealing shake. She then finished off her drink in a single gulp and set the glass gingerly on the table, next to the remaining bottles.

"I'll deliver the first portion of my information in the coming days. You'll know it when you see it."

She started for the door, passing Jacob and ruffling his unconscious head.

"It was actually kind of fun to talk to you. Maybe when I close this case, and you do... whatever it is you need to do, we can get together for an actual get-together. Just make sure Jacob is taken care of, okay? He's a sweet man and he obviously adores your company.

You can keep the liquor. I only drink when I'm over here anyway."

Silently, she slipped out the door, leaving Lenn to tend to Jacob, whom was already starting to stir from his drug-induced sleep. Then, suddenly, Uzume opened the door and popped her head back in really quick.

"Oh! And for real, could you move the bed and inch or so away from the wall? I'm on the other side and your late night rollicking can really... bumpy sometimes. thanks.

Then she was gone again, and Jacob's eyes started fluttering open.

"Mmm... Wh... Lenn? Uzume?"

She..Took the handshake. It almost felt like as if she had no choice with the whole situation. After all, what stopped the Investigator from trying to take her in herself? Maybe that was just her paranoia talking. "Loikewise..." Oy' guess. Lenn couldn't help but have mixed feelings about Uzume. A part of her really did want to have a normal outing...But then again, she didn't trust Uzume like she did with Jacob. It was a strange feeling.

Well, giving Lenn the correct information would be a good start in order to gain her trust. "Alroight," she nodded and watched the woman take her leave. In a weird sense, it was as if she had just met Jacob's mother and somehow gained her approval. Good lord, if she really had to meet Jacob's parents, she prayed they weren't going to be as...sharp. "Don' worry 'bout em. Jus' get me tha' intel," she frowned. Honestly, who did Uzume think she was talking to?

Then as if on que, Jacob began to stir and immediately she went to his side, brushing hair out of his eyes and flinching once the door opened again and--

"Ah!" OF COURSE SHE WOULD MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT THAT. "Will you just--" She turned, cheeks flushed and...Oh, she was gone. Tha' little turd...

Nevermind. Jacob was now awake and somewhat slurring. "Realleh luv, we've got to work on yer tolerance..." she sighed, silently cursing him for leaving her alone to deal with...Her. "She jus' left. You missed everything," boy, that was an understatement.
