"...This bag appears to have nothing inside it."

Clearly it was a magic bag. It probably had a ridiculous amount of space inside it to hold as many books as one desires. She knew very little about magic, but this was a school filled with odd people so it was not impossible. Heck, one of her colleagues was a talking box. Mirella remained unfazed by the phenomenon as she examined it. It was a well made pouch; the burlap on it was nice. She could estimate what it would feel like, but she did not bother touching it. Something like this had to have cost a pretty penny.

"Where did you get this magical bag from?"

The professor was intrigued. She would never be able to perform magic, but she was still interested in how it worked. She only knew about psionics since that was what she could perform. Psionics was similar to magic but much different in the sense that it was more focused on the mind and performing feats with it instead of having an attunement or certain energy to cast things. Her finger twisted her hair as her glance focused on Daniel. He seemed awfully bothered by the fact that she had it. He didn't need to worry; she would give it back....but she wanted to know more about it first.

Daniel looked away when she started speaking again, embarrassed. He was going to get in trouble, and she was going to confiscate his bag, and then he was going to- His internal monologue paused. Did she ask him where it came from?

The libriomancers gaze slowly turned back to Mirella, sheepishly looking at her. A tinge of red was on his cheeks, embarrassed and slightly scared about the question. The tall boy looked away again, running a hand through his hair. He spoke, but his words were mumbled.

"...gic item...pend...point five..." Was all Mirella would likely be able to make out.

He was stuttering and getting all nervous for no reason. It was frustrating the professor greatly as she tried to find out more about the bag. Her eyebrows furrowed a bit as she attempted to decipher his mumbles. She couldn't make much of it out. Mirella crossed her arms as her eyes closed for a moment. Her tone was laced with mild annoyance.

"Please speak clearly."

It was but a simple question. It didn't need to evolve into such a debacle. Was the bag that precious to him? It's not like she was going to take it away or anything. There was nothing in the rules as far as she knew about magical bags. In fact, those would be super convenient for students if anything. She could certainly use one. Her black eyes stared down Daniel in an unintentionally menacing manner thanks to her dull expression.

Daniel sighed. He coughed into his hand before hesitantly speaking. "Dungeons and Dragons Magic Item Compendium 3.5ed...Ma'am." The tall boy said softly, not daring to look Mirella in the eyes. He was strangely embarrassed, and he didn't know why.

The student shifted his weight slightly, hiding his hands in the pockets of his hoodie. His eyes flicked to his bag, still worried about it.

Daniel finally answered her coherently, but she didn't understand it at first. Dungeons and Dragons? Wasn't that the tabletop game that many people played? The concept of it was supposed to be an odd pretend game where everyone was an adventurer on a campaign or something. It was an interesting concept; after all, it was like writing a collaborative story. Everyone contributes to a part of the story. She hated to admit it, but she wouldn't mind playing such a game. She knew it was childish, but she couldn't help it! Not like she got much of a chance to do that in her life.

"How did you get this from a tabletop game?"

Then she contemplated it further. Professor Cadaverini was in a school filled with magic users and strange creatures. Could this relate to his power? Perhaps he got the idea from the manual, but he enacted it using his powers. He must have some kind of imagination or reality warping power then. She leaned back and glanced up at the roof for a moment as she articulated her theory.

"You created the bag using your power based on what you read from the book."

Her head tilted back down and her eyes fell upon Daniel once more.

"Am I correct?"

Daniel frowned. This is why he didn't like explaining his powers, it always took too long. He thought for a second, his brow furrowing.

"No. Well. Yes. Well. No, but...Um. No. Sort of. It's more like."

Daniel continued to ramble, getting flustered and confusing himself. He put his fingers to his temple and sighed.

"Maybe, I should just. Demonstrate. Yes." The tall boy noticed a book of poetry on Mirellas desk. He snatched it up and opened it, flipping through it quickly before stopping on a certain page. Daniel cleared his throat and began to recite one of the poems.

"My love for you is like a red, red rose,
It started as a seed but it’s grown and grown.
Its roots reach deep down inside of my chest,
And it grows even more with each passing breath.
The delicate petals lay beautiful and pure,
All the doubts that I’ve had you have since cured.
For all the thorns that this proud rose bears,
They are all softened by the thought of your care.
Soon the rose grows old and withers and dies,
But the love that helped grow it will last for all time."

As he was reading, he angled the book down slightly so Mirella could see the pages, and Daniel dipped his hand physically into the book, the words rippling like water as his hand dissapeared. He drew his hand out as he finished to reveal a rose. It seemed to be freshly cut from a bush, and seemed otherworldly perfect, as if a poet had designed it. Daniel hesitantly closed the book, holding the rose out to Mirella.

Again Daniel struggled to explain to her what was going on. This time it was about his powers. He was making them sound rather complex. She didn't see why he had to stumble so much, but nevertheless she was patient with him. Her eyes kept focusing on him as he scrambled to find his words. The professor held back a sigh. That was when it seemed that he wanted to actually demonstrate his power. He took one of her books and opened it up to a page. She leaned in a bit closer to look at what he was doing. It was a well-known Robert Burns poem. She actually loved it for its romantic yet simple message.

That was when he began to read to her. Her ears listened carefully to him dictate the poem. He was the poetry reader now. He was doing a pretty good job at it too. She leaned in with her head resting on her hands as her arms sat on the desk. She recrossed her legs as she listened on. Her face showed no expression. Mild intrigue and enjoyment was most definitely not enough to break her stoic facade. He would have to try harder than that to--

Wait, did he just put his hand inside the book?!

Sure enough, his hand disappeared inside the page of her poetry book for several moments. Her attention went from his face to where his hand should have been to which she stared at incredulously. After several moments, the hand reappeared, but this time it pulled out the most beautiful red rose she had ever seen. It was unbelievably perfect. The thorns were in just the right spots; the petals were crisp and vibrant. He presented this rose to her. Even though she was absolutely sure it was just a demonstration, she couldn't help but think that he was flirting with her. Why else would he choose a red rose?! Her pale cheeks gained quite a bit of color as she took the rose and examined it. Suddenly her black eyes gave him an icy glare.

"Flattery will get you nowhere with me."

Her defensive shields popped right up, but there was nothing she could do about the pinkness on her face. She cursed herself for letting the slightest bit of emotion slip out of her like that. Cadaverini mesmerized herself with the rose as her attention turned to it.

"....This is an exquisite rose."

The wonder in her eyes made their black hue lighten ever so slightly.

Daniel ran a hand through his hair as Mirella looked over the rose. Flattery? He was just demonstrating his power...Why would she thing he was...

It then hit Daniel that he had pulled a red rose out of a book of romance poems. A blush spread across his face as he realized he just effectively hit on his teacher.

"Ah. Well. Flattery. Not what I was. Uh. You see...." He started stuttering, clearly embarrassed. Mirella was rather attractive, after all. The students eyes darted wildly around his the room, his cracked glasses nearly slipping of his face.

He was clearly embarrassed now. Probably should have thought that through a bit more than he did.

Mirella meant no harm when she put up her defensive shields. She was just trying to prevent herself from displaying too much emotion. She also wanted to be sure that students wouldn't start getting clever ideas about her. She knew she had some level of attractiveness, and she was not about to have any more foolish boys write her weak attempts at winning her over. She was not a trophy, and she was NOT available. Well...technically she was, but like hell if she would admit it. Her students were definitely out of luck when it came to that department.

The professor let go of the rose, and it began to float in mid-air. She thought about how to preserve this perfect specimen. Would she need to water it, or would that be a terrible idea? Something told her she probably didn't want to plant it. Her eyes were still mesmerized by its radiance. Finally she decided that the shy boy had enough torture by his own embarrassment.

"Enough. You get the point."

The woman brought out a beautifully ornate box. For some reason, she purposefully opened it in such a way that only she could see its contents. The rose was placed with the box, and then the box went inside her bag. Her black eyes reverted to Daniel.

"You demonstrated your powers. I'm impressed. Next time, be careful of what you choose to summon. It can have unfortunate implications."

Her eyes then closed. For some reason, her mouth seemed to flash the slightest of smirks despite barely changing its shape.

"My curiosity has been sated. Unless you have any questions for me, you may go."

Daniel nodded, before stepping back and moving to leave the room. "Ah, S-sorry again ma'am. It won't happen again. Sorry." He said, before ducking out of the room. He had other classes to get too, after all.

It would only be when Mirella checked the book would she learn that the words from the poem Daniel had read from had dissapeared as a result of the power. The rose on the other hand would never wilt nor fade, keeping its form forever.
