Elizabeth's smile grew even wider when William started to make his hand glow and flicker on purpose. She put one hand over her mouth, a gesture she unconsciously did a lot when she was just too fascinated.

"Is it warm?" Suddenly she reached out and tried to touch them with her pointing finger, but decided at the last moment not to. She giggled sheepishly and reminded herself not to hog up William's space too much.

"By the way, are you a student too? I'm quite new, and unfortunately I don't know anyone else."

He seemed to be the same age as her, but his features were so foreign to her that she wasn't entirely sure. They were foreign and unfamiliar, but she found them beautiful. Everyone she knew was pale skinned-- especially her who was terribly white.

"It is quite warm, yes," William answered. He watched as Elizabeth reached out to touch his hand, but decided against it. He had no idea how someone could be so genuinely fascinated by such a simple thing. He almost wanted to smile, but he didn't know how she would take it.

As Elizabeth asked her second question, he realized that he didn't know anyone else, either. All he had really done was read books in the library.

"Yes, I am a student," he informed her. "Tenth grade, actually. And since we both don't know anyone else, I think we can say that we know each other." And then, as side thought: "Also, I noticed that you wanted to touch the mark on my hand. You can do so, if you want to." He held up one hand and made the mark perpetually glow.

Elizabeth's eyes practically glittered and popped out when William told her it was okay to touch. So she went ahead and traced the glowing marks with her fingertips. "My goodness..! This is so fascinating!" She liked how it was indeed warm, like... like the sun. William was like the sun, she thought, even though she didn't exactly know him yet.

Content, she stepped away as she clapped her hands together. "This is quite the coincidence, isn't it? I'm in tenth grade myself. We might run into each other during school hours, as well." She looked around. The birds have fled and they have been standing on the same spot for quite a while now, so Elizabeth wondered if there were other things to do, aside from admiring the scenery.

"I do apologize for holding you up so randomly like this. But I am quite excited to meet new people." she said, turning her eyes back to him. "Do you know your ways around the campus now, William?"

Elizabeth marveled as she traced the marks on William's hands. Even though he was fully aware at this point that she and him were very different from each other, it surprised him how amazed she was. Such a mark was normal back where he was from.

As Elizabeth stated her apologies, which William really didn't think were necessary, a strange pressure formed itself at the center of his back. Even though this pressure was quite uncomfortable, he knew what it was, and opted to ignore it for the time being.

"There's really no need to apologize," he reassured her. "It's always a pleasure to meet someone new every now and then. You never know who you might find."

William rubbed the back of his head. "I was shown around on my first day, but to be honest, I kinda forgot where a lot of things are. I really only remember the library, the cafeteria, and my designated classes."

"Oh. Good for you." Elizabeth chuckled. It would seem that William had gotten here earlier than she has, and that would mean he'd know more about their school as well. She began to fidget with her fingers. Maybe she was starting to be a bit troublesome, or maybe it was okay..? She contemplated but couldn't come up with an answer.

"Might you be heading somewhere?" she asked William, albeit with much hesitation. "May I walk with you..? I still get lost around the campus, see. Or around the island, for that matter."

William thought about what he should do for a moment. It was true that he hadn't explored much of the campus or the island, but it was also true that the urge to fly was growing greater by the second.

He nodded to himself as he came to a nice alternative. "I was actually going to go for a fly," he said, "but if you come with me, we can explore the island along the way."

Then, William focused all of his energy to the center of his back. Relief flowed through him as the pressure dissipated, and immediately, his golden wings began to materialize. After a matter of seconds, the wings had unfurled to their full wingspan, and as an aftereffect, multiple golden feathers fell to the ground.

"You wouldn't happen to be afraid of heights, would you?"

"Fly?" The thought was quite surprising, but since she grew up around magical creatures and mages and the like, she should've expected more people could do so as well.

But she really didn't expect what she saw next: beautiful glowing feathers forming on William's back to make one pair of big powerful-looking wings. Unlike her energetic, innocent reactions to his glowing hands, she stayed silent as she watched them form through wide eyes.

She blinked a few times when William gave her a question. "Afraid of heights? I don't really think so, no, but I've never really tried it." She chuckled nervously. "Do you plan to take me with you high up in the sky? Isn't that tiring?"

William smiled at Elizabeth's reaction. It had been far different from her reaction to his marks, but this one seemed more meaningful, which made him happy.

Will flapped his wings gently. "While I'd love to say that there's nothing to be afraid of," he began, "I know very well that I can't speak for everyone. I'm not going to go very high, but if you still feel like you need to get down, don't hesitate to speak up.

"As for whether or not it'll be tiring...." He sighed. "We won't really know until we've tried, now will we?"

"Alright..." Elizabeth hesitantly moved closer. She wasn't sure where to put her hands, but settled with wrapping her arms securely around William's neck, where she thought her arms wouldn't disturb his wings once he uses it. While it was undeniable that her chest pounded nervously against her ribcage, Elizabeth believed it wouldn't be so scary.

She looked at William's face. "Tell me if I'm too heavy as well, yes? I'm ready," she smiled, despite the tension on her cheeks caused by the expected anxiety.

William could tell Elizabeth was nervous. According to her, she never had the opportunity to find out if she was afraid of heights, so this venture could elicit any kind of reaction. He wrapped his arm around her waist, not tight enough to hurt, but tight enough so that it was apparent that he wouldn't let go.

"We just gotta get above the trees," he informed her, "and from then on, it'll be smooth sailing."

Will let out a deep sigh. He decided that flying with a passenger shouldn't be too much of a problem. He would only have to concentrate more. With this in mind, William tightened his grip on Elizabeth and flapped once to lift off. Immediately, they were launched into the sky. He focused on finding a nice altitude, and once that was done, he began cruising smoothly. From then on, they began their trip around the island.
