Events were a good start for any newcomer to socialize. And Aura figured it would be nice to see what events looked like here in the academy. Not that she'd die if she doesn't get the chance.

She lurked in the corners, near the tables, but she didn't sit down just yet. The night was young, and her feet can take standing up for a while more even with her black three-inches-high wedge sandals. If she seats down, she'd only waste her effort of dressing up nicely for the ball. Her forehead down to her nose was covered by a half mask etched with black roses. Her hair, temporarily dyed purple, was tied up to a high ponytail. Her wavy hair still flowed down on her back, and her hair on the sides of her head freely draped over her shoulders. She was wearing a dark purple dress with a high waist line. It was plain, and the fine silk dropped to her ankles like waterfalls as outline to her shape. Its only designs were the small shiny beads on the waist length just a couple of inches below her chest. Her sleeves were just as flowy, reaching to her elbows.

She was walking around, observing. Observing was what she always does best and she learned best this way, with many things. Tonight, so far, she learned how people danced in a masquerade ball, and how everyone acted so formal. People would approach one another as strangers at first. Or at least that's how they made it seem. She sighed. On her part, everyone really was a stranger.

Carlos quite liked events where he got to socialise. Especially given that he was a newcomer, who didn't really know many people here at Manta Carlos. This, combined with the mysterious atmosphere it was trying to achieve, made the masquerade ball a perfect event to start off with.

He wore a mask with a design of two blue fish swimming with one another, almost as if in a dancing motion. They were positioned in a way that the gaps made perfect eye-holes, and the whole thing only covered the top half of his face. He wore a fairly simple yet stylish black suit with silver stripes, matched by the pants of course. Underneath the blazer was a white dress shirt with a silver bow tie. Of course, he had stylish black leather shoes to complete the look.

He roamed around, marvelling at people's chosen masks. The mystery of it all was just so exciting! There was a sense of thrill in knowing that he didn't know who anyone was here, while being completely anonymous himself, because of their disguises.

That only increased upon the appearance of a semi-familiar feeling in his gut. Somebody here was a Zodiac, for sure. And they were within his line of sight. Now this was interesting. He followed his 'gut' feeling until he stopped at a purple-haired girl wearing a black mask with roses etched on it. To his memory, he hadn't met a Zodiac with purple hair.

"Hello"

Aura, too, felt that unsettling feeling-- not that it was a bad feeling-- that a Zodiac was nearby. And coming closer. She was still looking around, but this time, she wanted to find where the presence was coming from.

She didn't have to take too long looking for it though. She turned to the young man that greeted her, and knew instantly that it was him. She smiled. With her sandals, they were just the same height. She was looking at his face and the mask that covered it, no need to be tortured trying to guess who was in front of her.

Besides, the mask was a horrible giveaway, and she giggled at the realization.

"Nice to see you here," she said, closing her eyes for a moment. Just a moment. And then she looked at him again. Would Carlos recognize her, she wondered. They've only met once and they weren't exactly very acquainted yet.

"Huh?" Carlos was genuinely confused. He was positive they'd never met before, yet she talked as if they were familiar. Just in case though, he went through his memories again, trying to find any instance in which he'd met a Zodiac like her before... Nope, nothing.

Her voice, though, was a bit familiar... Try as he could, however, he just couldn't put his finger on it. "What do you mean by that?" He continued.

Then it clicked.

He was a Zodiac as well; if he was drawn to her, then the very same would be the case with her. She was probably just glad to have encountered another Zodiac, like he was.

"You must be referring to what I am, right?" He pointed to his mask before continuing. "You can probably already tell, but I'm Pisces. How about you? Which sign are you?"

Aura's lips widened even further to a smirk. Yup. He didn't seem to recognize or remember her. Dying her hair purple for tonight was probably an effective way not to be found out easily then. "How about you guess, Pisces?" she asked, leaning forward just a little bit. As if she was trying to tease him or... or she was just playing mysterious. She liked the fact that the young man was able to sense her though.

"I'll give you a clue." She began to pace around, slowly, ending up somewhere nearby to his side. Long dresses were dragging to manage while walking around, but Aura didn't lose her grace in it. "We've met before. At least once." She smiled at him brightly.

Carlos raised an eyebrow underneath his mask when the girl suggested that he guess himself. However, it didn't take long for him to realise what she was doing. She was taking advantage of her anonymity and being mysterious. He smirked back. Having been brought up by magicians, he was drawn to the mysterious himself. He started going through all the Zodiac signs he could remember, and realised that there were a few he hadn't met yet. The way she slowly moved with grace to the side of him only helped the mysterious vibe she was giving off.

Before he could guess one, she dropped an important clue; They had met before. That was when he realised she must have dyed her hair. Her hint narrowed it down to three other Zodiacs, two of which were far more likely to be at a masquerade event with other students than the other.

"You must be either Gemini... Or Aquarius."

"Well..." Aura rubbed her head just above her mask. As if she was trying her best not to do a facepalm. She didn't want to be mistaken for Gemini, she practically disliked the girl. So to make this easier, she waved her left index finger beside her head in a circular motion, and a small amount of water slowly formed from thin air, following her hand's movement.

And then she opened her palm, and the water steadied in the shape of a large ring. She clenched her fingers, and the water turned to ice.

"Guessed yet?" she asked, taking the ice bracelet to her hand and wearing it on her right wrist. Ice was such a beautiful decoration. It was like a clear crystal, only it melts. With Aura's ability though, melting was not a problem.

She shot Carlos a look. Her right eyebrow was raised behind her mask, and she was expecting a right answer this time.

Carlos watched in awe as the girl produced water from thin air, and created an ice bracelet out of it; And then, it finally hit him. Only one Zodiac he knew could manipulate water with such control. And of course her voice was familiar; he marvelled at how he almost mistook her for Cecete, whose voice sounded completely different to him. He was wide-eyed under his mask, his smile visibly beaming; He'd finally figured it out, after all.

"Aquarius! It's nice to see you here as well!"

Aura grinned. "Right." Instead of a more formal greeting such as a handshake, she moved her right hand and reached out to give Carlos a friendly pat on the head. She pulled away and resumed looking around, though she didn't really disregard him. It was only her way of not being awkward while thinking what to do next.

"...Are you here with someone?" she asked, her gaze returning to Carlos.

Carlos was somewhat surprised when Aura greeted him by giving him a pat on the head, though he still wore that grin on his face. He then noticed she was scanning around the ballroom, as she was doing before. He figured that maybe she was looking for someone; although everyone was in a mask, so she was probably just admiring them? His train of thought was interrupted when she spoke again.

"No, I came alone, why do you ask?"
