It was the best time of day for Emily, at least as far as recent events were concerned. It was that fleeting period after the sun had set where the stars were just about to find their way out into the sky. The stars at night were breathtaking, especially if you could sneak out for a little while after most of the lights had been shut off.
This wasn't what Emily was interested in at the moment though, even if she was fond the spectacle. No, despite her normally shy demeanor and timid mannerisms, she could exhibit some rather stalker-ish tendencies on occasion. Tonight she had sat herself behind a concrete planter near the edge of the roof, head lowered slightly as she waited.
before long a couple found their way out onto the roof, a high school boy leading a girl of about the same age out onto the roof. This was one of the best places to catch couples being all lovely dovey, with all the delicious infatuation in the air. It was a little different this time though, a mixture of sadness and regret found it's way into the air. Oh no...
The boy lead the girl to the center of the roof and then clasped her hands in his. "...I'm sorry... If... I'm afraid we have to stop this... If I keep seeing you you're going to end up hurt by my powers and..." The boys nerve ran out at that point, and he only hesitated for a moment before running back inside. The girl was left alone, clutching her hands and soon she began to sob quietly to herself.
Emily placed her hands on her cheeks, letting out a soft sigh and licking her lips as silent tears ran down her face. Why did heartbreak have to be so delectable?
