"No matter how fast you are... there are some things you can't outrun - or catch in time."
Name: Alexander East; also known as Project B.E.M: #6121198 - R
Age: 15, 2 years since actual creation
Birthday: August 1
Gender: Male
Race: Biologically Engineered Metahuman
Category: Student / Villain
Class: College, Biology student
Appearance Description:
Height: 5'7
Weight: 150 lbs
Hair: Shaggy light blue hair
Eye color: Red
Clothing: Alexander is often wearing slacks and plain shirts. His most common shirt is a white short sleeved shirt with a yellow lightning bolt at the chest. He also wears jackets with long collars and sleeves, often yellow with red lightning at the back. On top of his head are a pair of yellow goggles. He never wears hats.
Personality Description: Alexander is mature for his age... for the most part. He is very pragmatic and practical, patient and calm. However he is also very prone to jealousy and insecurity. He tends to be selfish and while he is a smooth talker, he is shy around new people and does not get to exercise that smooth talk much.
He has a mild sadistic streak and a bit of an obsession with the concepts of loss and tragedy. Fixation is also often evident in his mannerisms. When he focuses on something, little save for memory loss can pry his focus away.
Powers: Speed Force: Alexander has the ability of superhuman speed. His speed maxes out at 1012 mph, slightly faster than the speed of sound, and he can accelerate to hit that speed within 0.6 seconds. He can vibrate himself to blur his appearance or distort his voice, but it produces a constant droning noise akin to a helicopter's propeller if he does so.
Running at full speed from a standing position causes a massive explosion of displaced air, and can prove dangerous to bystanders. The speed also increases the force of anything he does quickly. He can run up walls and short expanses of water.
As a side effect of being fast, Alexander's body also functions very quickly to compensate. His eyes can process images lasting for picoseconds, his brain functions at a similar speed, his cells can regenerate quickly, his skin can withstand immense amounts of friction, and his stamina is considerably great. Also, he has to consume large amounts of food to sustain his metabolism and is prone to hypoglycemia; this metabolism also renders him immune to most ingested material such as poison (the effects manifest and end instantly) and alcohol.
Any surface which has low friction will disrupt his movement greatly, such as ice. He also moves slower in the cold.
Biography: Alexander was an offshoot of a certain military project - known as Project BEM. This project, aimed at the creation of human weaponry, worked with children modified to give them powers and subsequently use them. One such project, #6121198 - Alec West, was taken good care of by a foster parent, but unknown to her, he was replicated into #6121198 - R after they realized that she would interfere with their plans and hinder tests on Alec.
#6121198 - R or Alexander was subjected to more tests and more experimentation meant for #6121198 who avoided the worst due to Elizabeth's protection, and so he developed a notable resentment for Alec West. Before he even had a name he was thrown into grueling ordeals, all the while referred to as a mere number, a mere test subject.
During testing he ended up thrown in with B.E.M. #6117281, a similarly nameless female child who wound up giving him his name after hearing that he was a clone of Alec West. They gave each other company and comfort during those trying times, and Alexander began plotting an escape for the two of them.
Before he could, however, Elizabeth began her own breakout plan. Alexander and #6117281 both were not included in the mass evacuation, having been confined in the lower levels for a prior attempt, and while Alexander managed to break them both out either way, it was after much struggle and difficulty that he snuck both of them into the escape boat.
And then the missile hit.
Chaos ensued; in the middle of all the panicked children and the sinking mess that was the boat Alexander and the girl were separated, him having been flung clean into the ocean, she nowhere to be found.
To the shoreline he swam, and still no hint to the girl's survival was to be found anywhere. He saw Elizabeth and Alec West there, and while he was seething enough to want to attack, blaming them for the catastrophe, finding her was more important.
He could not find her or any trace of her after two days of search, and instead he directed his attention toward the lab that created both of them. Running back in, he quickly accosted the head director, and upon finding out that they did not recover her either, he killed him by running back to the shoreline whilst dragging the head director face first on the water, scrubbing his face off into the sea.
Still not knowing what to do, he followed Alec's trail into Manta Carlos.
When Alec was invited into Starlight, Alexander knew he had to follow if he wanted anything to happen. The same night that Alec was invited, Alexander ran to Starlight's gates, up the walls, and into the admissions office to request entry as well.
Additional Information:
Slightly tsundere-ish toward Alec West.
