Going to the pier was probably a bad idea, but looking around, it didn't seem like Lochlann had anything to worry about.
The sun was out, the day was hot, he was far away enough from the ocean that the sea breeze couldn't touch him, and, best of all, he was here with Addy.
Lochlann had enough to drink that he wasn't feeling shaky, although he couldn't get rid of the lingering headache. He was wearing a thin flannel with the sleeves rolled down to hide the bruises and his normal jeans, but he was summer-ready in that he had on a pair of sunglasses.
There wasn't anything that could ruin today.
"I'm glad we did this," Lochlann said to Addy. "What should we do next?"
He'd been reluctant about going to the pier since it was so close to the sea, but it seemed like everything was going to go okay. He just wished he could shake this feeling that they were in trouble.
"I am not going on the Ferris wheel, though....I had enough experiences with being up high to last me quite a while," Lochlann said, looking around.
