"Magical signature intriguing. Requesting sample."

Name: Morris Vashden Euez, commonly referred to as Mor though he responds to any syllable of his first and second names. He refuses to respond to Euez.
Age: 25. Some body parts are older.
Birthday: 21st of February
Gender: Male
Category: Student
Class: College

Appearance Description:
Mor is tall, standing straight at a generous six and a half feet. He is always clothed in the same style - a scarf and a long plain robe that scrapes against the floor as he walks. All that can be seen of him at first glance would be his dark brown eyes, ear - length gray hair and pale skin. A light scar runs along the base of his right cheek to his left breast. Covering his well - toned arms and hands are old burns, and as such he frequently wears white gloves and long - sleeved shirts under his robes. For his height, his head is strangely out of proportion, which only makes sense once one looks beneath his clothing.

Underneath his clothes is a thin and lanky body, covered in stitches. His ribs are barely visible through his pale skin and beneath his arms are another pair of arms, barely half the volume of the ones he shows and uses in front of others, which are stitched onto his shoulders. On the sides of his lower spine are six atrophied eyes, three on each side; and his hips end at the stomach area of his clothing. Attached to those hips are two reptilian legs, sutured onto his flesh with copious amounts of thread and a large amount of burnt tissue. There is a sac - like protrusion on his lower body covered in scales, about three times the size of his head.

As of the present moment, he has acquired a pair of avian wings with a wingspan of about 7 feet. Its feathers are a dull, lifeless gray, except at the very edges, where it becomes a vibrant, if somewhat dark teal. Sparks come from the wings every so often.

Personality Description:
Morris Vashden Euez is driven mostly by curiosity regarding magic, and as such seems often flat and emotionless. However, he does have emotions; he is simply inept at displaying them. Sarcasm often slips by him, and while he is aware of the concept he often identifies it mistakenly. Because of his motivations, he is most angered by deliberate denial of knowledge, and as such dislikes lies. He is very tolerant, to the point of allowing himself to come to harm, so long as there is a rational and justifiable reason given to him.

Powers:

Discovered when: At the age of 17
Discovered how: By accident; he was in a literal arcane accident while observing an experiment that took both his legs and killed a nearby dragonkin - in order to stop himself from bleeding out he fused those legs onto his own.
How/Why they have it: Morris hails from the Euez clan of magi, but instead of that lineage manifesting in powerful innate magic as was usual with that clan, all he gained was heightened magical sensitivity and receptivity, which allowed his body to be compatible with most magic, though he had none of his own. The mutation that caused this also caused his body to be capable of adjusting to accommodate most organic matter as part of its own.

Main / Stronger Ability: Organomagical Assimilation
Morris Vashden Euez is capable of assimilating the magical powers of other creatures and using them as his own for so long as any organic matter of theirs that still contains some of their magical traces or essences, although it manifests much more weakly than it normally would if it were controlled by its origin. His body is, after the attachment has been completed, capable of using those parts as though they were his own, but it takes a lot getting used to. Due to the parts that he adds to himself having different types of magic, he can currently only have up to three different magical sources attached to his body. The mosaic of body parts that he possesses also makes it difficult for his body to move quickly, and as such he is often found moving along at a snail's pace. Also problematic is the tendency of his extra body parts to come loose when not kept under constant maintenance.

Currently there are three attachments with magical power on his body. There are his larger and bulkier arms, which came from a pyromancer that burned down the first restaurant he worked in and died doing so. They grant him minor fire magic which he uses mostly to cook. His legs and the blood that came from them are draconic; while he does not inherit much dragon magic from them, he does gain heightened regeneration and a minor resistance to magic at the cost of becoming much slower in cold due to the reptilian blood. The third one is a scaled sac at the bottom of his body, containing an organ from the Sire of Extinction - it grants him a little more magical resistance and the power of causing decay. The decay also affects him and thus only gets used when it is absolutely necessary and there are no other options left.

Secondary / Weaker Ability: Heightened Awareness
While he has no magical power of his own, Mor is more than adept at sensing and understanding magical power. He can detect magic in the nearby vicinity and narrow down the location of its source to a 5 - meter radius, and he is capable of grasping the mechanics of any magic, provided enough time. This all comes with a drawback however; large bursts of magic overwhelm his senses and cause him to lose orientation and occasionally consciousness. He is also more readily affected by powers that affect his mind such as psionic or psychic power.

Biography: Morris Vashden Euez was born in the Euez lineage, housed in Rerithdostob's Duskmantle Forest. Rerithdostob was a hostile land, and although many of the threats were mundane, every now and then from the depths would rise ancient beasts possessed with immense power, or from the skies would visit dragons, or much, much more rarely, the rightly - feared Sires of Extinction, massive creatures of plague that true to their name wiped out many in their paths. Thus the Euez family, first and foremost of the four distinguished mage families, and the ones that most specialized in battle. The Euez were recognized for centuries as the strongest, most impenetrable defense against Rerithdostob's myriad ways of telling those living there to consider looking for another place to live.

Mor was at the early age of 3 exposed to the plague of a Sire of Extinction, as Duskmantle Forest itself was attacked. The Euez drove it away and killed it somewhere else to avoid spreading its plague even more, but the damage was done. Most of those that were overtly plagued were either treated by the Nim family, magi specializing in healing, or disposed of. The plague upon Morris was minor and subtle but effective; it altered his magical development and left him with a permanent paleness. As he had lost his magic many began to think of him as unworthy of bearing the name Euez. Originally meant to be heir to the Euez family, Morris was shunned in favor of his less plagued brother Aris. This left his social skills mostly lacking as it would take years for him to cease being a pariah in Duskmantle Forest.

At the age of sixteen, although still mostly shunned, Mor became enamored with magical research after his first trip outside Duskmantle Forest. He was originally seeking to restore his place, but soon enough he started to study magic for the sake of knowledge. It became clear that study was his forte as he would prove able to keep up with the Vorel, Rerithdostob's premier scientific guild. His parents saw the potential he had for this line of work, and arranged for him to stay with the Vorel for study.

Seventeen saw a massive turning point in Mor' life. By this time he was beginning to build acclaim as a budding researcher. He was by then known as the "talentless prodigy," a nod to his lack of magic and aptitude in studying it. While he was by no means way ahead of the curve, he was good for his age and most importantly absolutely dedicated. This saw him invited to apprenticeship under dragonkin mage Shivan.

A month into his apprenticeship he was helping Shivan with an experiment regarding raw magic, and a concentrated orb of magic exploded, instantly killing Shivan and ripping his legs, along with most of his left arm, off his body. Morris was saved from instant death by virtue of being farther, but a chunk of steel took off his legs just below his hip. Delirious and desperate to survive, he did the most reasonable thing he could (next to trying to escape the falling debris) which was to attach Shivan's legs to his hips and hope that the dragonkin's blood would still have enough regenerative power in it to close his wounds. He then promptly passed out and spent the next few weeks in a coma.

When he woke up, he found himself ostracized once again, blamed for Shivan's death. While he was later acquitted, the damage to his reputation was done. Having no place left in the Vorel community and sure that he would be denied re - entry into Duskmantle, he instead left for the Carnal Prairie, the largest expanse of Rerithdostob. Seven months into his wandering, he arrived at Kaspeme, a city where all kinds of creatures mingled, and where he would set up a new life as a chef, hiding his mutation underneath clothing. Why he became a chef, he never explained. All the while, he was studying the effects of Shivan's blood in his veins on him.

An unnamed drunken pyromancer wandered into the restaurant he worked at and burned it down, dying as well in the process. Out of curiosity, he took advantage of the chaos and took both the pyromancer's arms, grafting them onto himself to test his recent theory of being able to access the magic of others through their physical matter. It worked, although he quickly noted that the magical output was low.

Having confirmed his theory, he set about to testing it further, working odd jobs in the morning to have enough funding for his research and procurement of magical creature body parts. Around the age of 21, he left again for the prairie and ended up finding a Sire of Extinction's corpse. That moment hit him - it was to be his next great research undertaking.

For years he slaved away on that study, alone, growing increasingly distant from society. As time wore on he became less and less expressive, and his compass grew ever more directed toward research. All the while he became more adept with what little magic he had, and started to assimilate bits of the Sire of Extinction into himself.

It was this assimilation of magic that brought him to the interest of Starlight. The fact that someone without any magical capabilities could use magic was a feat in itself, but his method was potentially dangerous. After observation of him however, it was noted that he could easily be manipulated, which made it even more important to keep him in check. Before anyone else could do so, he was taken to Starlight, where he would be allowed to keep studying the samples of the Sire of Extinction, under the grounds that he would be under observation. As the invitation would give him more chances to study, he accepted without a second thought.
