Being alone had its disadvantages.
Adelene always trained in one corner of the sports field by herself, and had almost the same problem all the time. She had to set her equipment up by herself, tie them in tree branches which were too high for her height. She was short for her age, and she hated that her height caused her these problems. Somehow, Adelene wished she didn't have to be alone all the time.
Sighing, she set her large backpack down under a tree and brought out her equipments. She was going to go through her daily problem, and by now she's already learned that there was no point in complaining about it. She brought out three large but thin pieces of wood, attached to ropes for tying them on the tree. After that, she stood up, and eyed the lowest branches of the tree in front of her. "Thanks a lot, tree, you taught me how to climb. But really, can't you bend down a bit for me?"
...
"I'm talking to a tree."
She hung her head low, sighing once more. She shrugged. She decided to just go about her daily chore, and started to climb up the tree, with the ropes of the wooden targets hanging on her right hand. Once on a branch, she carefully tied them one by one, and then jumped off, creating a cloud of dust along with the loud thump her feet made.
She started stretching, and was eventually beginning her training by aiming her high kicks at the target boards.
