Appearance Description:

[IA from Vocaloid. Art by Dying]

Belladonna is 5'3" tall, built with the purpose of being cute and adorable. She has a pale 'skin' that, while entirely synthetic, feels just like human skin, and even gives off the same amount of warmth. Her eyes are blue, and reacts to stimuli just like humans', although they glow very faintly, usually only seen in very dark conditions. She can control the brightness however, but never make it disappear without affecting her own vision. Her hair is pale pink in color, silky and soft.

She was built to appear as close to a human as possible, so she has simulated breathing, blinking, and other human quirks. She also has a stomach of sorts, which deconstructs any food or liquid into usable energy, which isn't yet an efficient alternative to solar power.

Personality Description: Belladonna starts out as a blank slate, only having base emotions programmed into her which makes her a calm and naive person. She learns quickly, and while at the moment she is not the best at making decisions, she is capable of assessing situations to get the desired result.

Being an artificial intelligence, she is quick to make decisions on the fly, making her seem impulsive at times. Curiosity is a prevalent trait she has as it benefits her learning the most. Up until recently, the only people she has ever interacted with were her 'mother' and creator, Sarah, and Sarah's bodyguard, Henry, so she is not yet equipped on how she would interact with a greater number of personalities.

Her AI is a repurposed modification of Atropa, an AI that Sarah had created for learning androids whose primary function were to serve as helpers and bodyguards. Although made to be less violent, the potential is intentionally kept as a means for the new AI, named Belladonna, to defend herself from threats. That said, with the limited testing of the new modification, the fight or flight system may not be the most consistent and sometimes might be faulty.

Belladonna has been brought up to be well behaved and polite, but whether that stands firm when meeting so many people was part of the test.

Active Abilities:
  • Combat AI — Although Belladonna herself is not built to be a fighting unit, she is able to access the combat protocols left behind from the AI she was modified from.
  • Modular — Modifications can easily be installed, however software changes can only be done by Sarah.
    • Currently, her left arm has a blade that pops out of the forearm either to be used like a sword or an arm-mounted blade.
    • Her right arm is weapon that can shoot a beam of energy up to 15 meters from her hands and fingers. On its highest settings, the beam can cut through an inch of steel in half a second. This eats up a lot of energy however, draining her capacitor in just a minute. On the lowest settings however, the beams are just fancy laser pointers, which on continuous use would take a good two days to completely drain her. The beams' diameters however can be adjusted, affecting how much power is used. The standard is only a quarter of an inch, with the biggest possible beam being about a foot in diameter. The energy cost would increase or decrease exponentially.
  • Synthesizer — A system in place that allows Belladonna to create life-like flesh to cover her metallic body and also 'grow' hair. This is also responsible for repairing and maintaining her skin and hair.

Passive Abilities:
  • Light weight — Her metallic body is made with light alloys, which makes her just as heavy as a normal person with a similar body type, give or take.
  • Durable — Able to sustain high-speed impacts and punishment equal to at least 10 times what it would take to break human bones. However the synthetic flesh is damaged just as easily.
  • Sensory System — Can experience sensations just as well as humans, and some they can't detect. One of these being infrared light, which would be like any other light normal people can see. She can be temporarily blinded by bright infrared light.
  • Nyx Reactor Core — Her 'heart' which powers her body and systems, located in her chest. Also holds also backup copy of her AI in the case of the head being severed. In that instance, the backup AI activates, allowing the body to still be active and communicate with the severed head, if also still active. The head itself has a battery that allows it to remain powered for 20 minutes. Belladonna doesn't draw directly from the reactor itself. She takes her power from a capacitor connected to it in order to prevent any power surges damaging her more delicate systems. However, this does mean that, while the reactor core is able to provide power to last her 20 years, it is possible for her to run out of power if she isn't careful. If the charge in the capacitor is too low, she shuts down until it is at least half-way charged, which takes 10 minutes, but if she starts up at that point, the energy usage will slow down the charging process, doubling the time it takes to be fully charged.

There is a way to override the safety feature and allow Belladonna to start up whenever the capacitor has enough energy to power her systems up, but it involves inputting a code into a panel hidden on her back. Losing that much power however is only possible when the energy is sapped, or Belladonna uses her energy weapon or any other energy-hungry modules that may be added in the future.

Belladonna's reactor also makes it so she doesn't need any rest under normal circumstances, and there will be no negative effects if she chooses to never 'sleep' and continue to work on whatever she finds herself doing.
  • Electronic Insulation — Her systems are protected by plating that absorbs some electric interference from power lines, electric devices, radio waves and the like. However, this plating was only built to protect against interference found in normal life, so strong concentrations of these electrical interference can hinder or incapacitate her, and at worse shut her down.

Weaknesses:
  • Kill Switch — As a safety concern, Sarah included a kill switch on the android, should it fall to the wrong hands or becomes corrupted and uncontrollable due to damage or unwanted tinkering, she can shut her down remotely. This was more for the ease of mind on anyone who would question her rather than her own.
  • Magnetic Vulnerability — While her body is not attracted to magnets, contact with magnets cause discomfort and may cause her systems to glitch if exposed to strong magnets. This is her equivalent to an irritant.

Common Magical Items:

Resources:
Lives with her 'mother', Sarah Evita, who has: A large mansion with a fully-equipped underground laboratory that is shielded from all technological scanning equipment. An unknown benefactor keeps her supplied with materials, cash and all permits she would need to keep authorities out. The perimeter, mansion and laboratory has heavy surveillance and has plenty of security measures in place. No organic security detail or servants however.

Biography: Her creator and mother, Sarah, had started work on an android that was built to be used as a security measure when the events that lead her to Manta Carlos happened. She brought her prototype along with her, and continued to work on it. At first, she wanted it to serve its original purpose, but after giving it thought, she decided to see if she could create an AI that was not only capable of passing the Turing Test, but also capable of being more than a piece of machinery.

She thought of it as a challenge to herself while she looked for ways to keep herself busy. She tweaked an already existing AI to suit her needs and continued to work on the android, testing and debugging until Sarah felt she was ready.

Belladonna had gone through a lot of changes since her initial boot-up, but she has retained all the memories from them. During her time, she was only able to speak to Sarah and Henry, the bodyguard. Sarah had preferred to teach her everything she needed to know rather than simply program it in, and because of that, the android had formed an unexpected appreciation for her creator, who she likes calling mother.

As part of the testing, Sarah exposed her to some children's TV show, which Belladonna seemed to enjoy. Of course, she needed to be self sufficient as well, and so she was taught how to cook and clean, and even fix herself. She also read, wrote, and played. Feeling like the android was ready to be introduced to the outside world, Sarah decided to start her off by going to school, where she would be exposed to plenty of other people. Without hesitation, Belladonna agreed, although she didn't know what she should be expecting.
